I just need some advice. Elsha is nearly 4.5months old and she isnt rolling. Actually, she isnt even attempting it.
She gets plenty of tummy time and we are trying to show her how to roll but she just seems to have no intention of trying.

Does anyone have any advice on how to get this happening? I keep hearing of how everyone else's bubs are rolling... at a much younger age!

(I just want my bubba to do something I can get excited about too... :( )

My boy didn't roll until well after 5 months old. Don't worry, it'll happen soon. She'll work it out

Alternatively she might not do it til she crawls!! I didn't roll until I crawled at 9 months, and Josh isn't rolling or crawling yet either. I'm not concerned, he is trying very hard to move forward atm.

I think he has just been a very content little bub and hasn't worried about rolling. Maybe your LO is the same.

I think I told you Jessi that Zara didn't roll until well it must have been 11 months old!! But she was sitting by herself at 6 months. She went straight from sitting position to belly position. But now, she loves to roll and nappy change times are a horror!! I wish she never rolled!!

I used to try playing games with her like rolling her over and then back again, but it never worked! She was just too happy on her back.

She will probably start babbling soon.... just keep at her "mumma, mumma, mumma" ;)

Good to read all of the above posts. I have been starting to get a bit worried about my dd who is nearly 6 months old not rolling, nor showing the slightest bit of interest despite loads of effort.
A good reminder (for me) that all bubs achieve different milestones at different ages.

My DS still isn't rolling yet. She's 9 1/2 mnths. She has never really like tummy time at all - always found it a bit of a struggle. She was sitting up on her own from 6mnths and can only now spend a bit of time on her tummy as her arms are now stronger to help her. She can roll from side to side, but won't roll over at all.
I've come to the conclusion that my ds isn't even going to crawl - she'll most likely be a bum crawler. From the bubs I've been around, those that are going to be crawlers, or at least like tummy time are more likely to roll sooner. I don't really know if that has anything to do with it, but that's just what I've thought.
I wouldn't be too fussed about it. If she is happy doing everything else at the moment, then all is good!

The replies have been... well... lets just say they gave me some relief. I guess theres just too much competition in the family to have the bub who does everything the earliest. I know its not important, but with SIL rubbing it in my face about her boy... I was starting to worry about about El's skills.
I think that she will walk before she rolls. LOL But its all good, whichever way she wants to do things- is fine with me!
