rib, rib, rib

When working rib I understand its knit, then purl...

If it doesn't specify the amount is it K1, P1 or K2, P2?

Also when going onto the next row on an even amount of stitches

KKPPKKPPKKPPKKPP

would you start the next row with a purl or knit stitch?

Tank you :hugs:

If it doesn't specify the kind of rib, do whatever you like :) I like k1 p1 or k2 p2 - either way.

When you do the next row, look at the stitch on the needle - if the lump bit is facing you, you do a purl stitch. if the lump bit is facing away from you (on the other side of the needle) you do a knit stitch.

So basically, if you knit the stitch on one side, you purl that stitch on the other side. But I like looking for the lumpy bits whenever I"m unsure - its foolproof :)

I hope that makes sense!

Ah well, starting all over again is part of the fun - can't tell you how many times I had to do that when I was starting out! :D

Noo, you are an absolute legend. I cast on 16 stitches to practice my ribbing and following your advice of bumps and spaces, I *finally* got it to look like ribbing. Hurrah!

Now I'll be a knitting machine. :smiliedance:

Noo, I need your help again!

I just counted my stitches and 3 have disappeared....where did they go? How do I get them back?

PLUS my stitches keep falling off my needle.
