I can't believe it........My cat was fine yesterday and this morning she wasn't eating or drinking and then just lay outside, closed her eyes and died. I am so shocked because she was 8 years old which is not really that old and she was perfectly ok before today. The worst thing is I have to wait for hubby to get home before I can take her to the Vet as I have no car. This is so terrible.:gloomy:

Oh no :(, i am so sorry to hear of your beloved puss dying :hugs:. I hope you can find out what happened to her. RIP puddy tat.
Oh that is so sad. :hugs: :hugs: :hugs:
oh I am so sorry to hear that. :( My puddy and my puppy both died unexpectedly recently and I found it very difficult to deal with. They are like members of the family.
Huge hugs to you. At least it sounds like she didn't suffer at all. Obviously it was just her time. :hugs:

What is really worrying me is that hubby and I think that maybe she was poisoned because our next door neighbour complained to him a couple of weeks ago about her miaowing in the mornings. It makes me feel sick to think that someone would do anything like that.
WHAT?!?!!? That's horrible!!!
If you can take your cat to your vet and they can let you know what the cause of death is most likely - what kind of person would do that to someone's pet?!!?

AWWWW honey:hugs: :hugs: :hugs:
You can ring the vet and they might come pick up your baby for you.
They did that for me.
many many hugs to you
Unfortunately my Vet can't do that, but they said they will check her over free of charge for me which is nice of them. I have covered her with a towel and I keep expecting her to get up from underneath, but she isn't. I can't believe it...........the weird and eerie thing is that we were contemplating whether to take her to Melbourne with us or leave her with a friend in Adelaide and it's just so uncanny that the decision has been made for us now.

Thanx guys. I took her to the Vet yesterday and they said it could be poison and asked me whether I wanted to have an autopsy done. I have to let them know today so they can send her to a lab, I am looking at quite a few hundred dollars. I don't whether it is worth knowing or should I just let it go?
I am so sorry :hugs: - this happened to us two weeks ago. Our puss was fine one minute, started acting funny and he died. I did have an autopsy done because I wanted to know what happened, and it turned out he was poisoned. I have the same worries that someone might have done it.
I really hope for you that it wasn't your neighbour - its too horrible to think about that someone could be that vile.
It may be worth getting the autopsy done, as at least you'll know - and it may eliminate poisoning which would give you peace of mind. The vet may be able to just open him up and have a look at his liver, which would indicate if it was poisoning by the look of it.
Take care - again I'm so sorry.:hugs:

:hugs: I'm so sorry to hear about your cat. I get tears in my eyes just thinking about the fact my precious kitty wont always be around so I know this must be terrible for you.
Personally I wouldn't have the autopsy done, even though I'd want to know what happened, I know it wouldn't change the fact my cat was gone. I would just want to bring my cat home and bury him in his favourite spot in the garden, but you need to do what you feel will help you the most.:hugs:

What kind of poison did it turn out to be? Could they tell if it was deliberate?
