View Full Version : Fav scene from a movie.
I was thinking about a Robbin Williams movie the other day ' The Fischer King' anyone know it?
Anyhow one of my fav scenes of all time is when he see's his true love and everyone starts dancing through grand central station. Kind of hard to explain.
Whats your favourite scene from a movie?

Great question...off the top of my head, here's a few favs:
* from 'Some Like It Hot" - when Jack Lemmon (dressed in drag) comes back from his date with Joe E Brown and tells Tony Curtis all about it, finishing with "I'm engaged"
* from "Life of Brian" - the scene where Michael Palin is the Roman Emperor and has a very good friend called Biggus Dickus
* from "Bull Durham" - Susan Sarandon painting Kevin Costner's toenails
* from "Truly, Madly, Deeply" - the end when Alan Rickman is reciting the Pablo Neruda poem and leaving for good.

I agree with the Dirty Dancing thing! My god Patrick Swayze is hot in that movie!
Some others:
The sword fighting scene in The Princess Bride
The part in The American President where she comes back after he does his big speech
Pretty Woman, where Richard Gere goes up the fire escape with a flower in his mouth!
Ooh, and while we're on Richard Gere (wishful thinking) the whole movie First Knight! I can watch his bum in that movie for hours! *drools*
Finding Neverland - where they bring the play to her house - the end of that scene always gets me!
In "Dirty Rotton Scoundrals" where Steve Martin is being Rupret the Monkey Boy down in the stone room and he runs around banging his pots and shouting "Okalahoma!! Okalahoma!! Okalahoma!! Okalahoma!! Okalahoma!!" I die laughing every single time. And the cork on his fork scene... In fact, the whole movie is a big fave...
The end scene in "Parenthood" where you find out who's having the baby. Gets me everytime - I SOB!

My favourite scene is in my favourite movie The Shawshank Redemption. The bit where Andy (Tim Robbins) puts a soprano opera duet on the PA system at the prison and everyone stops and looks up and we hear Red (Morgan Freeman) saying "To this day I still don't know what those ladies were singing about, but right at that moment, every man in Shawshank was free". Oh the tears.
I have about 6 points in that movie where I just can't stop crying. Brilliant movie.

Love The Shawshank Redemption. The part where the old timer kills himself gets me every time.
Bron - reading your description made me think of that scene in 'Life is beautiful' where the husband and wife are in different parts of the prison camp, and the husband plays the record so that she can hear it...i hope i remember that correctly. i cried in that bit.
me too! Life is Beautiful is a wonderful movie.
Both of those scenes really remind me that music means so much in some circumstances and can mean freedom, can say "i love you" can remind you of happier times, can be a help when you are in trouble. Very special.
