Okay - so I kow this is really silly, but my 10.5 mth old DS threw up his breakfast this morning which is something he never does. It was no different to the breakfast he has every day.
He felt a bit warm so I took his temp and it was fine - only 36.3. I gave him some Baby Neurofen as I had been planning to do so anyway as he has some teeth coming through that seem to have been bothering him.
About 10 mins later, his temp was 37. Again I know - not a temp, but is it normal to go up so quickly??
He had his bottle after all this and was fine - fell sound asleep, (he seemed pretty tired when having his breakfast so I wasn't surprised at this)

Anyway - the question from this paranoid mother is apart from the obvious things like a temp and more vomiting, is there anything else I should be keeping an eye on today?? Would you think that chances are he just had a bit of a vomit and that is all there is to it?

Sorry to ramble and be so over-the-top paranoid, but we have been so lucky over the past 10.5 mths and he has never really been sick so I have no clue what to keep my eye out for!!

I should point out too that as of Christmas Day, he self weaned off the breast and is now on formula full time, so perhaps his tummy is still getting used to the difference???

Its Ok to be a bit paranoid
I would say if he keeps his bottles down then it could just be a one off vomit. I would just keep an eye out for a temp, any rash or runny poos.
If he does vomit up his feeds then just make sure you keep the fluids up, you can get rehydration fluids like Hydralite from the chemist.

Hope it was just a one off.

My son was a little bit pukey going from Breast Milk to formula until his tummy got used to it being heavier. But just keep an eye on the little one and see if anything else happens then maybe have a check up at the GP if it still is happening.

Sounds like it might just have been a one off. I would really only start to worry if he got really hot, or threw up more bottles etc. DD2 seems to have the odd one off vomit sometimes, with no other symptoms. :fingerscrossed: it's nothing....

Hey Shannon!!

Thanks for checking in! He is all good now. Has been a little off his food but I think it is more teething related as otherwise he seems pretty happy. In fact, he was just laughing away at me blowing bubbles in the bath with him!!

Thanks for your reassurance ladies!

Ah typical kid, worrying you one minute, joking around the next ! Glad to hear he's all better :). Hope his teeth come through soon!

rell is spot on my DD vomits every set of teeth she gets, and all we can do is use the rehydration fluids (i dont know the name of ours but it has a little pic of an orange on it), also we keep her off her her milk for the day and put half the amount of formula in her bottle (normally has 4 scoops to 200ml we change to 2 scoops to 200ml) but i would ask ur doc first only because your not really ment to mess with there milk unless told by a pro. watch for the poo too, not that you will miss it :barf: .
oh and if he may turn into a little man like my little miss go buy a mattress protector right away. you will not regret it.
