 Happy New Year to you all.

Sorry I haven't been on lately. My puter is still not running. we replaced the power supply but think the video card has fried too :( not happy..
Umm what else is new.. *scratches chin* Kai is so close to crawling its scary lol.. he gets up on his hands and knee's and rocks for a minute or two or he does a really funny caterpilla impersonation and uses his toes and his head  little tripper is my boy.. I put him on the loungeroom floor yesterday while I ran to the toilet, came back and he'd gotten to the coffee table and was covered in Zac's colouring books..
Still no teeth for my boy, not even any sitting close to the surface.. He's rediscovered the joys of blowing rasberries:rolleyes: and does it non stop for periods of up to 45minutes. We got it on video the other day, might send it to funniest home video's lol.
Gotta book him in for his 6mnth needles and get his toe nail looked at.
Oh and he's worked out how to play fetch mummy LOL I spend half my dad picking up his dummy or teddy or whatever it is he wants me to fetch..
I'm trying to upload some recent piccies but my image hosting site is being a turd grrrrrr..
bugger it I'll do it on flickr instead lol..
*drums fingers* I post again once they've uploaded lol.
might go have some breaky

Thanks pegs.... you are always such a wealth of information.... and I love the play on words... am a bit of a nerd like that too... but that's what you get when you went to the kind of school I did....

Myz - Pip loves blowing raspberries too.... dribble city!!

Lollie - I think your amazing chicky.... 4 mths bf with 2 bubba's.... and you seem to be coping so well... good on you! If you want any ideas re what to make just yell.... I make all Pip's food myself cos I'm a cheapskate from way back.... and cos I like to know exactly what she's eating!

Shea - hope Connor gets some relief from teething soon, for what its worth, Pip now has two bottom teeth and we haven't touched bonjella or panadol.... I bought her an amber teething necklace... thought it was a bit hippy trippy but worth a shot and it seems to have worked, cos I wouldn't say she was overly grizzly when they came through.... in fact come to think of it she wasn't grizzly at all....

Seek - I'm with you... lucky to be out of my pj's by midday...

Bess - Yay for Eliana!! How cute!

Not much to report from this end... really need to do some more work.... must get motivated.... and must finish my doula module before uni starts back!!

Been attacking the house in a belated spring clean.... working from head to toe on one room a day.... halfway there.... but darn it I keep avoiding the bathroom.... was supposed to be today but think I'll defer it to tomorrow...

ha ha they wouldn't be like my friends would they? Studied bizarre stuff at uni like astrophysics/law and optoelectronics/business and have "in" jokes about Newton special theories and bump into each other at science conferences. Or gleefully announce about their wide ranging powers at the Reserve Bank (lord help our economy with that rabble running the show!)

Enough of that.

I think Miss E was sent to me to test my strength and Mr P was the reward just to love.
Miss E had her first time out, went well BTW, yes Jess she went "straight to the pool room" for biting my leg. She also decided to start toilet training herself, so fun and games at my place today.

Mr P loves his tucker, but no signs of getting mobile as yet, and he seems to be teething but I'm not expecting any teeth for another 6 months. He'll eat anything am going to try pumpkin, zucchini and potatoe tonight, (last nights leftover veggies).

anyway must go, grocery shopping to be done we are going to start the CSIRO diet today.

Aww Mell and Nel (heehee) I hope your boys get better soon!

I have a wee boast... well a couple.. in fact a few.

Boast #1 - Cobey slept from 8pm - 5am last night! (he stopped sleeping through at about 4.5 months) :smiliedance:
Boast #2 - Cobey ate a whole teaspoon of pears for lunch without spitting it out or making a gross face :smiliedance:
Bost #3 - Cobey just put himself to sleep for the first time in about a month! :smiliedance:

I'm sooo proud of my wee man!!!

Our Getting big bubbas #3 thread got closed, after only 5 posts....didn't want to lose my huge post (that took me ages) so here is Our getting big bubbas #4....hope that's ok?...

i'm still sick, so i didn't wanna do much anyway.

Hope you're feeling better real soon Kel, what a bummer of a time to be sick. And thank you for the sms:D

Development q here.... when are they supposed to start "talking"...

Like everyone's said, I think each bub is different. Apparently I was saying Mumma, Dadda, Bubba, Fish and Pretty at 5 months:eek: Can't you all tell??....You still can't shut me up!

My NY resolution is, I am sure, going to sound very weak! It is to be not only up but showered and ready to do battle with the day by 8am (except for special occasions) I am usually up but not often out of PJ’s!

~~~~~
Mich –Apple can taste pretty sharp at first, don’t you remember???
Out of PJ's by 8am!!! Man, I'm impressed...yesterday I didn't get out of mine all day (I consider them my house clothes as I don't wear much to bed)
~~~~~

Mmm, let me think:rolleyes:... nope can't remember back much further than...well yesterday really!

im also actually looking forward to a couple days work next week, mumbled brain thought it was this week. i also found out that the practice manager is leaving and that the big boss wants to talk to me when i come in next week

I hope you enjoy working! Hopefully you don't miss your lovely girls too much.

i got boyz to men tickets!!!
~~~~~
hmmmmm, which makes me think it would be alot easier to have a young bub and a 1 1/2 year old........
Yay for the boyz to men tickets!! Hope you have a blast
~~~~~

oh!! Will there be another sibling for master Conner??...How exciting

Can someone tell me how they do meal times? I've been offering him boobie around the meal time, then I give him his meal and wash it down with water... sound okay?

~~~~~
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH I forgot to say.... Cobey's crawling in his sleep and when he's awake in his cot. He travels quite a bit (head down but arms and legs going) he doesn't do it on the floor yet. But he's slowly army crawling.
Seek, I've been doing rice cereal and apple mix in the morning after her breastfeed and then rice cereal after her early evening breastfeed. Am going to start giving her a bit more water...
~~~~~

Go Cobes! What a little star he is! Luci is lifting her butt in the air and really trying to get going, but I think we're a while off yet.

I am still here, a bit tired. Nix is sick at the moment.

Hope you're both feeling better soon xxxx

Agh... I had heaps of things to say. It's taken me over an hour to write up to here and now I can't remember what else I wanted to say... lets see,

Love everyone's pictures. So does Luci, I show her each one and she always smiles and trys to reach out and touch.

Dr thought L's hips were fine (Thanks God) and so now it's just the horrid needles tomorrow.

Kaz, would you be able to give me some food ideas?... We are making our own too, and my copy of Breast, bottle, bowl hasn't arrived yet.

Which brings me to yet another question... I'm still introducing one food at a time, waiting three days and then introducing another. When can I start to introduce a mix of veggies etc?

TS, hope the time outs work for Miss E. If you're interested there's a really good book I read while I was 'up the duff' called 'The Strong-willed child' I found it really helpful...

Pegs, thanks so much for your info. So helpful :D

Ok, lunch time, my tummy's going crazy

xxxx to all

Hey mich... here's what we do food wise.... some days she has just one meal at lunch and one early evening... others its breakfast lunch and tea.... just depends on whats on and how early we get up...

As for foods, usually breakfast is cereal, lunch is fruit, and dinner is vegies.... sometimes there is some yoghurt mixed in with either the mornings cereal or the lunch's fruit...

So far I have made apples, pears and banana on their own, or mixed with rice cereal or yoghurt.... we've also had a banana mango mix, and apple pear mix... was going to get some apricots the other day but they were a bit $$$

As for vegies she's had pumpkin, sweet potato, carrot and potato on their own, and a mix of the pump, sweet pot and carrot, also carrot and zuchinni mixed together, oh and a taste of avocado!

BBB recoommends the following for our bubba's age group....

Fruits - apple, apricot, banana, mango, peach & pear
Vegies - avocado, carrot, potato, pumpkin, squash, sweet potato, zuchinni, and swede and marrow if anyone knows what they are...

I've just been cooking them up til soft and whizzing them in the food processor.... easy as pie....

Just found our other thread to see what I missed...

Seek - Lucky you on the sleeping through again... I wish!!!

Myz - great pics...

Mich - hope that food info helps!!

Just a funny lil thing.... being the dag that I am I thought i'd put a little profile for myself on RSVP... just for fun... after doing it I realised I really didn't want to but left it there anyway... well I just got a "kiss"... how funny!! His profile is actually not that bad... am I allowed to link that kinda thing here???

Hi girlies and bubs.

Just to clear the air, there is no chance at the moment for another sibling for connor. have decided that 3 years gap sounds good. so no ttc for me!

computer still stupid. it says i have some spyware but it wont delete it, so dont know where to go from here. :banghead:

mich - this is connor's feeding:
5 - 6am bottle
8 - 9am rice ceral
10.30 - 11.30am bottle
12 - 2 fruit
3 - 4.40pm bottle
5 - 6.30 vegies
and i have only just dropped his last bottle as he eats a whole bannan for lunch, half a potatoe for lunch and heaps of rice ceral in the morning. the bottles are 220mls.

umm, cant remember anything else. but, to make sure it is clear, the i no ttc from here! :)

Come in Leah :D We're for all the July Bubbies (and a few august bubs... in fact a couple of June babies too!) Nice to meet ya!!

Cobey's eating full teaspoons now, he gets a bit shirty by the end of it, but he still gobbles the last bit. He has to have his own spoon tho  otherwise it takes twice as long as we wrestle each other.

What the heck is marrow?

Of the BBB list Cobey's had Apple, Pear, Potato, Sweet Potato, and Squash. Wooo!!

We bought some Banana today which I'll do once pear is properly introduced. We also have apricot and carrot waiting by.

For some reason I can't give Cobey fruit for dinner, I just won't let myself LOL

Which brings me to yet another question... I'm still introducing one food at a time, waiting three days and then introducing another. When can I start to introduce a mix of veggies etc?

Great news about L's hips!!! I think the best thing to do would be to introduce the veggies you wanna mix one at a time and then if all was good, go for the mix.

Just found our other thread to see what I missed...

Dunno - but do it anyway! You're love life is excitment for us all.

Just to clear the air, there is no chance at the moment for another sibling for connor. have decided that 3 years gap sounds good. so no ttc for me!

Bummer - that was the other bit of excitment in my life.

Anyway I hope that multi-quote thingy worked but I did that early in the arvo and it's now 7pm when I've got to actually type, so there's probably been loads of posts since. Will get to them asap.

As for us... mostly good - Lachlan has slept well ALL day today!! But just wondering - is anyone else hopeless at remembering to take the pill. Ivé been taking it for less than two weeks, have totally missed it once and forgotten it almost another four times - thus taken late.

Gotta go read bedtime stories.

Still feeling very tired. Nix slept a bit better last night, only woke up once, but Bodhi was up and down all night for some reason. So i still didn't get much sleep. :fingerscrossed: tonight is alot better.
I took Nix back to the docs this afternoon as his cough doesn't seem to be getting any better, he has a little bit of a red throat but there is nothing they can give him, he just has to get over it, the poor chicken.

Guess what, Nix has a tooth :smiliedance: you can only just feel it but you can see it.

Leah, Hi, you are more then welcome to join us lovely July mummy's:D

Shae, hope you get the computer fix soon, it is a pain when they are playing up.

Seek, wow Cobey has been a very busy little man. How i wish i could have Boast #1 and #3, lol.

Mich, glad everything is good with Miss L's hips.

Rach, i agree with you about Kaz's love life  I get all excited about it.

Hey gals

Welcome Leah!!!

Well, just wanted to ask how everyone else's baby bedtime routines go??? With Ham we used to use the 4B routine... Bath, book, breast, bed... but so far with Lach, he hasn't seemed to be able to stick to the Feed, Play, Sleep, which means when he wakes up it's not always time for a feed and therefore his late feed generally is needed around 5.30pm, and he's not ready to go to bed after that. So, we've started a similar thing with Lach but it goes... Breast (and solids), bath, book, bed... This means he's generally in bed by 6.30pm as he's absolutely knackered by then. Anyway, he goes down relatively easily but without fail wakes up half an hour after we put him down. Generally within a mintue of Hamish going to bed - I tell ya, this little kid of mine has radars like you wouldn't believe.

So the same happened tonight. Down by 6.30pm, awake screaming at 7pm. He'd fed breast and solids at 5.30pm, so I knew he wasn't hungry; he was clean/dry and didn't appear to be in pain. As it's nighttime Ididn't get up to play but tried to resettle - needless to say it isn't working. It's now 7.49 pm and he's still screaming - DH and I are taking turns to go to him, trying our best to listen to his cry, yadda, yadda, yadda... but I just don't know what to do.

So was interested to see how all of you put your kids to sleep. I NEED somthing that works.

Sorry for the long post...

sorry rach, linas bedtime is between 7 and 730. she has veges at 530-6 then its bath time, play time boob time, then shes ready to zonk. she will sleep until at least 10ish-11ish, has another feed, and normally thats it till 5-530. shes just started to get back into that.

Hi all - how did we get to 3pages already??? We must be a chatty bunch. Can we go for a record?

Mys - especially love the photo in the pool in the orange ring - guess he really loves the water. Also the elf bib (I forgot that I had one of those from A and forgot to bring it out for K - oh, well, hopefully she'll still fit it next year).

Shinebrite - welcome. The main thing is you have to check this thread regularly as otherwise there's too much to catch up on.

mmascore - good news about L's hips

Bessie - great new avatar. Wow - what a mop of hair! I'm jealous - I tried washing K's hair tonight in the bath and although she smelt beautiful afterwards, it was a bit pointless

Rach - bedtime routine: For A - quiet wind down time, then - teeth, book, bed (with wiggles cd going). For K - she sits and watches us have dinner usually then I still wrap her, dummy for sleep, cuddle to sleep. I bath her with A (in the bath seat) if she's awake when I bath him. He usually gets a bath every second night before dinner, which comes before teeth in the routine. I can't guarantee that it works the same every night though (for either child).

Food - still haven't started anything - K still spits a fair bit of curdled milk back at me (usually about an hour after a feed) and I take this that her digestive system might need a bit of time. I gave her a rusk a couple of days ago and she did enjoy that, I've gone out and bought some farex, and am collecting expressed milk to mix with (I ended up with A mixing pureed fruit with it so I didn't have to use bm with the cereal). I'm also going to start pureeing left overs and freezing into icecube trays - that's how I started doing A's food. That way I can do it separately and check for allergies (one night have baked sweet potato on the side and puree up leftovers, next - pumpkin etc).

Kaz - we all want to see the link - don't you know we're your screening service;) I was on live chat once and someone posted a link, but I couldn't view though as I wasn't a member of the site and didn't want to join incase I had to explain to hubby - LOL, so didn't get to see the photos.

Seek - Fantastic on all three counts - it's amazing what a difference not getting up that middle of the night does. I had a few last week when I got up in the middle of the night and was absolutely buggered the next day (two of the nights were for A!)

Perth mums (and Rach - I include you here). Got a couple of ideas that I'll pm tomorrow, but wanted to put this out public to check if there's anyone besides Mystik, Rachdent and Bessie that want to be included. Either post here or pm me and I'll put together a couple of ideas for our meet.

I just wanted to show off my new avatar,

I love your new avatar, she has beautiful hair. Nix is still bald, but Bodhi was the same, he didn't have hair till he was about 1 1/2 years old and didn't have his first hair cut till after his 2nd birthday.

Perth mums i can't wait to see the photos of your met, when are you guys catching up?

TS glad to heard everything is going well. Bodhi spends time in time out, now as soon as you say it, he will go running to the wall and sit down, it is like he enjoys it

Last night was heaps better, Nix slept from 7pm till 4am then came into our bed and woke up at 5.30am and Bodhi slept all night and woke up about 5.20am:smiliedance: But Bodhi has now got this barking cough this morning, so now i think he is going to come down with it. Never ends.

We have the follow up appointment today from Bodhi's procedure, so we will find out what was wrong.

What a wet and cold day it is today, i just want to stay in bed.

Where is Kel, i haven't heard from her for a couple of days. Hope you are feeling better.

oooh missed this one - WOOOHOOOO!

Well, just wanted to ask how everyone else's baby bedtime routines go???
At about 6 I breastfeed, then straight to the highchair where he has some solids. The highchair lays back so I give him his sippy cup with handles so he can drink water if he wants (He takes this as an opportunity to chew on the spout which makes a funny noise - but also gets water out)
While he's drinking I run a bath, plonk him in the bath which he loves. Take him out, dry him, PJ him, let him play and with the first rub of his eyes I pick him up and rock him to sleep. I'm thinking of, instead of play, read a book.

Kai is lying on the floor next to me giggling at nothing  I love how happy he is first thing in the mornings.

his bedtime is usually between 9 and 10, some nights he'll sleep through til aeound 4:30 then have a quick feed and back to sleep til about 7. Lately though he's been waking at around 1, then again at 3 and again at 5:30 and up for the morning at 6:30 not sure if it's the weather or what..

Welcome Back Jac

He was round at my mum's house with DF the other day while Kai and I slept and apparently he was beautifully behaved... until I got there and he went stupid:no: I almost turned around and walked home again in tears.. I know they play up more for mum but it's getting rediculous..

anyway better go get his breakfast sorted..

But Bodhi has now got this barking cough this morning, so now i think he is going to come down with it. Never ends.
We have the follow up appointment today from Bodhi's procedure, so we will find out what was wrong.

i know exactly what you mean. we had natty up screaming at 145 am, crying as her ear was hurting, gave her some panadol, and took an hour to get her back to sleep. although, she hasnt complained at all since waking up, and no fever. endless.

i hope everything goes well at bodhi's follow up.

I am lucky if I get Pip to go down before 10...

kaz, i had exactly the same problem with brianna. she was the utmost worst sleeper, both day and night. im so glad that lina sleeps, i couldnt handle going through that again. when any of the kids wake through the night, i look like a dang zombie. big panda eyed etc etc.

morning all! well as per above, my nights sleep was broken again. im generally fine if i can string 4hrs in a row, but if that is broken, then im up the creek without a paddle.

seek, have fun at underwater world, we love that place also.

wb jac, hope you had a great hol.

bessie, absolutely love the avatar, i cant believe how much her hair has grown, here i am all proud bout linas growth, but hers is no where near E's

doesnt kel work tues? i hope your feeling better kell.

will be fully spraying my house with glen 20 today, lovely rainy weather, so i will open the windows and let the good ole fresh air through.

not much else to report.

hi there

this is the first chance i've had to be on since before chrissie as it was spent in narrabri with the inlaws... it was fab!!

i have a few questions...

how on earth do i upload a pic of bub into my signature?

i have just started chloe on solids and at the moment we are just giving farex once a day. i read that you do this for a week then increase to twice a day then introduce other foods does this sound right?

is it ok to give bubs a rusk even though shes only 5 months old? the box says 6 months

chloe only does a poo every 2 -3 days (she is formula fed). it doesn't hurt her to do one so is this ok? im just worried shes going to get constipated with the introduction of solids.....

oh guess what i get married in 4 months!! sunday 29 april i can't wait!!!

hello my beautiful ladies. gee i love all of you, it's so nice to be missed by people  i only just realised when i went to reply before that we had a new thread - what an idiot i am!!!!

Rachdent - :hugs: to you. Angel doesn't have much of a routine. she has a feed 7-7.30 then goes to bed, before that sometimes she's having a nap, sometimes she's playing. she sleeps from 7.30-8pm til 5-5.30am. she wakes up during the night usually only once, but just needs her dummy back in.

Leah - welcome  it's great to have a new person. as you can see, we all like talking ALOT!!!

Kaz - we all love hearing bout your love life, only cause we want you to meet someone & be happy :hugs:

Myz - cute photos!!!

Mich - great news bout Luci's hip, i'm glad she's ok.

Mell - hope everthing goes well wirh Bodhi's appt today.

Faithsmum - gorgeous family pics, i love em!!!

good on the bubbas with teeth. Angel started at 13wks, she's now 6mths AND DOESN'T HAVE ANY!!! it drives me nuts sometimes.

HAHAHA!!!! you all make me laugh. Angel has a 225-250ml bottle at 5.30-6am, at 10am she has THREE TABLESPOONS of babna custard, mixed with SIX TABLESPOONS of formula, she then has 150-175ml OF FORMULA. at 3pm she has ONE JAR of baby food (yes i'm lazy, plus Angel won't eat ANYTHING i make), then 150-175ml OF FORMULA. then at 7-7.30pm she has 225-250ml of formula. hehe you make me smile when you say your bubbas have teasoons of stuff, Angel's such a pig!! but we had to give her more food cause when she has food, she doesn't drink much bottle. that's also why she only gets 2 meals a day, otherwise she'd have hardly any milk at all!!

i've been a bit down lately, which is why i haven't been on aswell. i'm still not completely better & had blood tests and also took a stool sample in today to see what's wrong. i've had diarrohea at least 4 times a wk with bad stomach pains since Angel was born, i've also had a tender tummy just under my belly button since she was born. also, my mum & dad are separating and it's made me really upset, i never thought my parents would be ones that separated. my dad is coming back here to live & as long as mum still has her job in Port Mac, she'll stay there. and to make it worse they decided this on Christmas Day, so i found out on New Years Eve Day.

anyway, lots of love to my beautiful ladies, chat to you later xxoo

Hello!!
Welcome Leah! Love your DD's name...it's my DD's too!

Yet another long post from moi! This multi quoting helps me 'remember ' so much more!

just wanted to ask how everyone else's baby bedtime routines go???

Rach, L is in the middle of changing hers atm. Usually it's lots of feeds, some times a cat nap around 7pm and then down for the night around 9-10pm. (Depending if she's had the cat nap or not)

I just wanted to show off my new avatar

Just adorable!! I just want to cuddle her!

Hi all - how did we get to 3pages already??? We must be a chatty bunch. Can we go for a record?

 Sure we can go for a record!!

We have the follow up appointment today from Bodhi's procedure, so we will find out what was wrong.

Hope you get some answers. Is Bodhi back to his normal self?

Hi Ladies

Gee I missed our daily chats sooo much.

Slow down... lol

Hi! We missed you too, welcome back! Can't slow down are trying for a record!!;)

his bedtime is usually between 9 and 10, some nights he'll sleep through til aeound 4:30 then have a quick feed and back to sleep til about 7. Lately though he's been waking at around 1, then again at 3 and again at 5:30 and up for the morning at 6:30 not sure if it's the weather or what..

Nel, are our bubs talking with each other or something??...L hasn't slept thru in ages and wakes about 2 and 5 and then lately 10am:eek:

how on earth do i upload a pic of bub into my signature?

~~~
oh guess what i get married in 4 months!! sunday 29 april i can't wait!!!
To upload a pic for your avatar go to 'User Control Panel' link. In the control panel on the left hand side you should see a link 'edit avatar' then select the browse button. Hope that helps.
~~~

How exciting! Not long to go then

ONE JAR of baby food (yes i'm lazy, plus Angel won't eat ANYTHING i make)

~~~
i've been a bit down lately, which is why i haven't been on aswell. i'm still not completely better & had blood tests and also took a stool sample in today to see what's wrong. i've had diarrohea at least 4 times a wk with bad stomach pains since Angel was born, i've also had a tender tummy just under my belly button since she was born. also, my mum & dad are separating and it's made me really upset, i never thought my parents would be ones that separated. my dad is coming back here to live & as long as mum still has her job in Port Mac, she'll stay there. and to make it worse they decided this on Christmas Day, so i found out on New Years Eve Day.
Kel, whilst we're making L's food, my Mum suggested we occasionally give here some bought stuff so that she gets used to it too.
~~~

Huge:hugs: to you. Sorry to hear about your parents. My grandparents divorced just after their 40th anniversary, it was a huge shock to me and a massive one to my Mum. Am thinking of you hon. xxxx

Hope the test results give you some answers and you start feeling 100% again soon.

Kaz, can you please PM the link too?!! Like Kel said though, all we want is for you to be happy!

Sydney/NSW gals am organising a meet for Jan 19th. Jess is flying down on 18th in the evening, so am thinking lunch time on 19th? TS, can you please select a venue?
Hope lots of you can come.

We just got back from L's needles. She was such a brave girl, only a tiny cry and that was because I didn't cuddle her fast enough! She's fast asleep now.

Might go and read a bit of my book. Will upload some photos soon....BIL has used the internet heaps and we are now throttled back...ggrrrr
Love to you all xxx

Hi girls
I have just back tracked thru the threads... gosh we have been busy.
I'm still uploading photobucket pics and am going to try and create one just for public use as I put millions of personal pics on my main account.

Guess what, Nix has a tooth, you can only just feel it but you can see it.

Leah, Hi, you are more then welcome to join us lovely July mummy's

Yah to Nix!!! :smiliedance:
and a huge welcome to Leah!

I went to the gym, I bet I'll be paying for that tomorrow.

Yay to Tinystar, I'm trying to keep up with my physio but it's hard to get the time and then DS tries to climb on me.

Rach - hope you find a routine which works. I really need one for me lol. Eliana goes to bed when we do, she sleeps in our room and has sleeps in the day too... but she sleeps through the night so I am loathe to change it but I will have to at some point. For now it's just hard to get the older kids to bed on time so I'm focussing on that and have incorporated a tidy time too. Maybe I'm making things hard for myself later in allowing her to go to bed with us.

hi there

Wow, congratulations on the wedding date!
I would check if the rusks contain sugar btw, I'd avoid them if they do.

Hope you feel better soon and they find out what it is! I had irritable bowel when pg and just after, it was linked to lots of stress plus the hormones. I hope it's something that easy to fix ifykwim. Take it easy, lots of hugs coming your way :hugs:

Well, lots going on here... I am FLYing (check out the thread in the house and gardens forum) and am finally getting my house, paperwork, finances and life together! I'm now viewing myself as a home executive and not just killing time while my kids grow up. I have always shunned organisation and housework but now I am confronting my laziness and getting there!

So I guess I should make some New Years Resolutions... here i go...
To keep Flying
To Lose weight, get my abs and hips back and make the whole family eat healthier
To spend quality memory making time with my kids
To declutter as much as possible
but this is the most important one...
To enjoy life as much as possible, living it to the full, so when I'm old I can look back and think "those were the days, when I lived and laughed and loved all I could" :smiliedance:

well ive been doing some more scrapbooking this arvo. im really really starting to get into it.

What stuff do you use? I used to be a Creative Memories consultant but I'm hopeless at selling stuff. But I still love scrapping... reallly should get my butt into gear and get onto Lachlan's album.

No real news fromour corner of Oz!! Got an interesting thing in the post today but can't say too much as I'm letting a few of you into the loop soon.:detective:

Lach is still being a pain at night. He was buggared and screaming his little head off until 6pm tonight, when I finally let him feed (last feed 3.30pm) and he fell asleep at the breast. So, there went any chance of a bath or solids... he woke at 7.10pm screaming again, but is so tired I'm still trying to resettle him. Hugs to everyone else also having settlig issues - I thought it wasn't supposed to happen second time around!!!Hahah

Oooh scrapping, I haven't touched mine for ages. I think I might tidy my craft stuff out tomorrow as it's got to the point where I don't know what I've got!
DS is in daycare tomorrow so maybe I can have a go with DD1.
We are planning a camping trip for the evening of the 18th, I have the bubhub meet on my calendar (thanks flylady) so DH has had to work round it.
I've never explored Aus. This will be our first time in southern WA and there looks like there are lots of fab things to do.
I'm not sure about creepy crawlies though, we are doing proper tent camping (as opposed to van camping) so I will just have to be brave and not winge about spiders and stuff.
(BTW If anyone has camping tips or Margaret River/Busselton etc) tips please let me know. )
Gotta go shine my sink now

Just a few pics from Christmas day..

Gorgeous photo's thanks for sharing. Can't wait to met you.

We are planning a camping trip for the evening of the 18Th,

We love camping, we do alot of beach camping, Bodhi loves it too. Nix hasn't been yet, but we have just orgainsed to go on in feb for 3 days, so that will be his first camping trip.

Shinebrite, hope you guys get everything sorted out and i hope you got some sleep. When i have things on my mind, i can't sleep either. Sounds like there is alot of positives for the move.

The boys had a good night sleep last night, so not feeling to bad. Poor little Nix, one of his eyes was closed shut when he woke up this morning, so i have just bathed it in warm water.

Bodhi's appointment went well yesterday. There was alot of scar tissue at the end of the forskin which made it very thick, but they aren't sure what caused the scaring  But now it is all over.

Nix has been really off his food lately, doesn't want a bar of it, so i think i will give it a break for about a week and try again.

Better go, some little boy is in need of a feed

Well we are certainly going for that record aren't we? Here I am trying to avoid too much time on the puter and I go for a day out and 3 pages to read!:shame:

Day out was Fab......until DH's boat engine died. Lucily it was nothing major and the boat mechanic fixed it for $20 and some coins for the pokies. but we still needed a tow and I had to row for an hour until we found someone who could tow us.

Sorry Rach, no bedtime routine here. P screams for solids at about 5.30 and nothine else will do. I feed him then he crashes out, sometimes wakes during the night for a bottle.

Rusks, you can use carrot sticks instead, nice n natural. Just beware that when babies have teeth that they can break off pieces and choke, so only for bubs with no teeth ok.

anyway must go.....family time to be had.

Ok Phew I am exhausted after all that catching up.. and some of it is so old news now that I won't ever comment. lol

leah  , welcome to the gang!! Hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

Kel - thank you for the New Years Eve message. I am so sorry to hear about your current health worries and the separation of your parents, my thoughts are with you and I hope everything works out soon :hugs:

Shea - welcome back online.. hope your puter is 100% soon!

HIGA - I absolutely loved having my dh home too, he was fabulous, he let me go out twice by myself with my mum and sisters.. the best thing is that he offered, I didn't have to ask. Faith and I both really miss him now that he has gone back to work. When he got home last night from work Faith was so excited she started kicking her legs and leaning for him when he walked it.. it was soo cute and he was really chuffed!! Can you pls let me know when you are having another scrapbooking day, I would love to start!!

Seek - miss ya! Hat goes off to Cobes for his 3 milestones, can't wait to see you both on the 18th.

Mell - glad to hear that everything went well at Bodhi's appointment yesterday, it must be a weight off your mind.xx Yey! to Nix for this tooth.. Faith still has nothing, my little niece just cut her first one and she is 9mths!!

Shinebrite - Wow lucky you that your DD has slept thru since 3 wks.. whats your trick!! If you really want to move, I think you should, you can always do what I do and fly home a few times a year to see my parents and they do the same so we end up seeing each other for a few weeks at a time about 8 times a year. We also post videos on u-tube so they can witness her milestones such as rolling over, sitting up etc I say if you think it will make you happy give it a go!

Bessie - camping trip sounds like fun! Just make sure you pack the RID and first aid kit!! Fabulous resolutions too!!

Tinystar - good on you for going to the gym, I wish I was that motivated!!

Aimz - congrats on your wedding date, its such an exciting time.. enjoy it!

Mmascore - great to see you a back on and in full swing.. love reading your posts!

Faith is currently going down at night for a nap around 6.30-7pm for about an hour and then goes down from 9-10pm till 5.30-6am. If she wakes at all its just because she has lost her dummy. She is still only on one feed of solids per day which I give her at around 5pm.. she loves it!! She is bf for every other feed except for the one before she goes down at night she has 180ml of formula.. I think this is what helps her sleep thru??? Anyway it seems to be working! She still sleeps for a total of 6hrs during the day too, usually 2hrs at a time.

Anyway gotta go and get ready we are of to my SIL's for m/tea.

Catch up again soon x

Shea, we're thinking somewhere in Syd so that Kaz doesn't have to drive all the way into Penrith. Jess is staying in Syd the evening of 18th and then with me, so the meet place doesn't really worry her. Does that sound ok for you?...

Will check back in later, once my jobs are done!

Hi I wrote a huge post a few hours ago but Estella climbed up on me and deleted the lot. (no she did not get a time out for that effort lol)

I have sent out PM's for the sydney meet, if any sydney people didn't get one please let me know.

I just checked out the Flylady website for those flyers amongst us, and gee whiz I dont think it's for me. My sink has a matt finish, it just wont work...............

Is anyone giving their little ones water for thirst? How are you giving it, how much and how often?

Kel my FIL lived with us for 6 months and it was great, he loved taking care of Estella it can work really well if you can figure out a way of everyone having their own personal space.

anyway I'm going, I'm buggered.

Evening ladies - well got both boys down early tonight as day sleeps were non-existent (Ham) and a nightmare (LAch), so I've probably got a few minutes before LAch does his usual wake-up between 7 and 7.30pm  suppose it's good I can laugh about it still...

Just a quicky, Not sure if any of our WA mumma's are near the big storm, but if you are, stay safe.:hugs:

We are not in THE most dangerous areas - but let's just say it felt like a stormy winter's day here today; we stayed inside and it looks to be a ghastly night!

a) what is Flylady?? Am I dumb and ignorant?
b) Kel ditto what TS said about in-laws or parents living with you. If they're helpful it's bliss. My mum has been living with us since April - although she's moving out next week:gloomy: - and has been the best help ever!! I don't know how I'd have survived some of the last few months bad moments without her.

WEll, nothing much from our end except the good news is that Lachlan's reflux appears to be subsiding on its own. I stopped the Zantac last week after I decided I didn't really like him taking it when the long-lasting affects are still uncertain, but it seems his tummy is maturing on its own. We hardly have any screaming fits now and puking is rare!!:smiliedance:

Also, I know I've bugged you all about sleep of late but what do you do if your baby awakes when it's obviously still tired - do you try resettle. If so, how and for how long?

Cheerio ladies...

Hi ladies! :D

Cobey's mastering the art of the mechanic's shuffle.. I have the change mat on the floor now and I put him on it, wondered off to get nappies, came back and he was under the couch, cheeky thing. He's SLOWLY caterpillar crawling on the ground now (the type he does in his bed... head down, legs doing the work... like an army crawl but using his legs, not his arms) he's worked out that he can't "fly" to get things (you know the arm out, chest up, legs up thing...) but he likes to "fly" in the bath and go face first into it - much to his shock and his mummy's fear.

I had to put cot bumpers around his bed today as he crawls in his sleep, thonks his head and cries, the poor bugger.

His favourite food seems to be squash, he eats ALL of the squash in his bowl... he enjoyed some banana today as well.

mememe is this post. I'm so tired I've read everything but can't remember a damn thing.
Except a few..

Kel - Hope you get some answers on why you've been off. Sorry to hear about your parents :( And what a time to hear it too.

Rach - woohoo on the zantac!!
I also resettle, or try to.. in the middle of the night if he wakes I jiggle for a few minutes before popping out the boob just to see if he'll go back to sleep. He went through a stage of waking VERY distressed in the afternoon naps, I'd resettle so he could still sleep. BASICALLY if he wakes up crying I feel he hasn't had much sleep, so I resettle and if he sleeps, fantastic, but if not I don't mind.

*yawn* I have a big day tomorrow, I should go to bed.

We are planning a camping trip for the evening of the 18th

Bessie, hope you have a fantastic trip!

just couldnt sleep coz I had to much on my mind

Sending lots of thoughts your way. I hope you guys find the best option for you.

but we still needed a tow and I had to row for an hour until we found someone who could tow us.

At least you didn't have to go to the gym for today's workout;) Glad to hear it wasn't too expensive to fix.

ts - like your idea about the carrot sticks, might try it.

have started organising connor's naming day. have just order the candles (go to ebay they are heaps cheap!) and have to start looking a cakes - they are so damn expensive!

Luci loves both carrot sticks and rusks, will be interested to see what Connor thinks of the carrot.

Oh! I hope you find a lovely but not too expensive cake. Have fun organising his naming day!

Oh and I might have scored myself a job doing job share with my best mate

Kaz, that's great news!! I hope your Nan can look after Pip.

Got my friends funeral this afternoon

Hope the funeral went ok. How did Kai go?

Is anyone giving their little ones water for thirst? How are you giving it, how much and how often?

I've given L water on really hot days. But my CHN suggested I give it to her a little more often to help with constipation. So far she's only really had sips.

We are not in THE most dangerous areas - but let's just say it felt like a stormy winter's day here today; we stayed inside and it looks to be a ghastly night!

Rach, glad to hear you're safe. Hope the storm stays away from you guys.

Not 100%, but I think Flylady is a person/website to help you become more organised. I had a quick look in the home and garden section on the hub last night and a glance at the website.

Luci generally only sleeps for an hour at a time during the day so whenever she wakes I always try to resettle. If she's making noise, I put her dummy back in, put the music she goes to sleep with back on and sometimes pat her on her butt. If she's just lying there with her eyes open I'll put her music back on and just leave her.
I might try this twice and then 'give up'

Hope everyone is well. Where's Seek and Pegs, and Lollie and MD and Popchex and HIGA hasn't been on as much as normal?.....

wont do personals tonite, too tired. feel asleep after dinner, and only just woken up half an hour or so ago.

had another bad night last night aswell, this time it was brianna, with a bad dream apparently she was being chased by the bad fairy, coz she didnt do as she was asked lol!

linas unwell also, i took her to the docs today, and she has the start of some viral infection, so my dr has started her on AB's before it hits. which is fantastic, so hopefully by tomorrow she will be heaps better, already after 1 dose she has piped right up. so its best to kill it before it starts! yay!

anyhoos im back off to bed for now

Hi lovely ladies - feeling a bit emotionally drained at the moment, so I'll apologise in advance for the very superficial post. The only threads I've posted in the last couple of days are very superficial ones - Cheaters, OC - you get my drift. So no personals and not much news.

Just poking my nose in to say hi and drop off a couple of photos from boxing day at my MIL - she had a heap, but these two are the only ones which aren't blurry. I find it really hard to get a photo of K by herself if A is around - he tries to get in all shots!

brother and sister (http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r157/pegasus007/2007003.jpg)

too hard to smile - I'm concentrating on sitting up (http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r157/pegasus007/2007005.jpg)

As for what's going on for me (I'll probably share later, I usually can't shut up - LOL), but all you need to know is that my two children, my hubby and I are all healthy and fine, just going through lots of stuff that we have no control over with regards to the step children (via their mother) and regardless of what she says - I wouldn't be this preoccupied with them (or sick to the stomach with worry about them) if I didn't care.

Pegasus, K is doing so well with her sitting up :yelclap: and i love the one with both of them, so cute. All the best with step children, hope it all works out :hugs:

HIGA, hope Miss Lina is heaps better today, Bodhi has been coughing since 4.30am so i don't think i will send him to Kindy today. Love Brianna's dream.

Nix slept till 4.30am this morning for a feed, so it is slowing getting longer. His last feed is about 7pm, so hopefully it won't be to much longer and he will be back to sleeping right through.

My throat is hurting this morning, so i think our whole house hold is sick at the moment,

Cobey slept 'til 5. And now he's still asleep. I've learnt something... Chris and I are naughty people and sleep with the TV on (I can't get to sleep with no noise, and watching TV sends me quicker than the radio... my ears ring all the time so silence drives me MAD) when we leave the TV on while co=sleeping, Mr Moo is awake at 5am won't go to sleep. If we turn the TV off he stays in bed until 8!! :D

Hey all,

Well Faith has all of a sudden started waking at 4.40, 5am.. when she used to sleep until 6.30/7am.. she is only up for a feed and 1/2hr play, but geez I don't go back to sleep then, so its an early start for me!

Seek - turn the TV off and get a sleep in!!! What I would give to sleep till 8am.:banghead: . Faith is still doing the 'flying' thing', but has also started kicking her legs during her sleep and wakes up in different areas of the cot everyday.. aren't they just the cutest at the moment.

Rach - I definatey resettle, I usually just wait and see if she puts herself back to sleep, or I put her dummy back in. If that doesn't work I ususally kiss her cheek and pat her on the bottom, if she starts sticking her head up and looking around laughing after that, I know she wants to get up. Good luck with it all.

HIGA - Hope Lina feels better today :hugs:

Pegs - lovely pics, your two are just adorable, I love the whole big bro, little sis relationship. Best of luck sorting out the issues with your hubby's ex, it a painful situation. Would you believe that my hubby's ex wife sent me an sms on Xmas day (after 3 yrs of not hearing anything from her) congratulating me on the birth of our child, which she said should have been hers!!! She is one crazy b**ch, but thats why he left her!! I just ignored the message, dh was furious and can't workout how she got our number. I thank god everyday he didn't have any children with her as she is a fruitcake. My thoughts are with you.

Mell - Hope you and the rest of the fam feel much better soon, and happybirthday to Nix!!

With the water thing, I am also having trouble getting faith to drink it after solids. She just chews the teet of the bottle, smiles and won't swallow it, if she does get the water in her mouth she just opens it and lets it run out!! I have also tried giving it to her from a training up, but she just spits it out.. any suggestions??

Anyways got to motor.. things to do!

Love to all. xx

Morning all!

Just finished reading all the posts! OMG!!! I'm buggered!!!

:hugs: To anyone who's feeling under the weather (speaking about weather, wassup with the rain?!?!?)

Yay for all the on the move bubs!!! Bianca has been cleaning our floor for the last few days (the first day she was wearing a white top - noice)

Still no teeth on this front, but lots of chomping on her own fingers!!! LOL

Um... can't remember that many of the posts - too many, you blabber mouths!!!

Today is my last day off before I go back to work on Monday. What a bugger.

I'm frantically trying to organise Bianca's christening, DH's cousin in Melbourne picked up the dress I wanted yesterday & is posting it today, so I should get it Monday!!! YAY!!! It's gorgeous! Raw silk, ivory, short sleeve. I'll have to put pics up after the christening Sunday week!

Hope everyone had a fantastic New Year's and has an excellent, exciting 2007!!!

aww mega mega hugs Pegs :hugs: it breaks my heart to hear of kids being put through that sort of stress. It really shouldn't happen.

Hope all those with sick ones are feeling better soon. Miss E has some sort of virus thingie. Typical doc just said wait n see and come back sunday if she is still unwell.

I know this shouldn't bother me, and that all bubs develop in their own time etc etc, Paddy is sitting up really well, but not showing any interest in rolling (he can do it fine but chooses not to) or trying to move anywhere? Maybe I should be pleased he is delaying getting into mischeif :devil6: .

we have another busy day today showing DH's uncle from overseas around Sydney, then tommorrow 2 b'day parties (kids party during the day and a 30th at night)

cheers lovely ladies

I had to put cot bumpers around his bed today as he crawls in his sleep, thonks his head and cries, the poor bugger.

I decided last night I have to go get a bumper for Kai coz he's doing dohnuts in his sleep and constantly hitting his head or kicking the bars and waking himself up.

Hope the funeral went ok. How did Kai go?

I've given L water on really hot days. But my CHN suggested I give it to her a little more often to help with constipation. So far she's only really had sips.

Rach, glad to hear you're safe. Hope the storm stays away from you guys.

The funeral was lovely and Kai was excellent. He did blow rasberries during the funeral procession but fell asleep about 2minutes into the service :smiliedance: .. Not many people get to sing at their own funeral lol. Joy was a performer and most of the music was recordings of her singing. It made it so special but so sad aswell.. I was holding up ok til her grandkids got up to talk and broke down in tears.

Water - both my boys have drunk it since birth and they have no problems with it. I find it it's slightly warm they take to it better.

Rach - Glad your not near the storm.. My sisters are from Esperance so I'm thanking god they're in Perth with my dad for the holidays. Mind you I wouldnt mind if my step mum got swept away in the flooding

Mell - Happy 5 mths Nix - Pip is 5 mths tomorrow!

Mich - I bought Pip a Mag mag yday which is soooo much better than the other cup I have, she had a ball with her water, although she ended up wearing a lot of it... before that she would only drink it out of my glass...

TS - got you PM and will DEFINITELY be there!

Hugs to everyone else who needs them... sorry bout the slackness!!

Hi everyone. Its been a long time since I have been on bubba hub. I am doing great. THe twins are just over six months old and I am still breast feeding. Typical boys they love the boob. I have been also giving them solids since about 4 months and they seem to love their farex and then veges at night.,

How is everyone going, it would be great to catch up with you all.. How are your little ones going>

Our boys are kind of crawling and are slowing starting to get into everything. We are having so much fun with them. Christmas was really good. It is so much different when you have little ones.

Oy! I was wondering why I hadn't seen any posts - didn't realise the other thread was closed.

I won't be able to catch up with the three pages to read, but I'll be able to keep up now! lol

We went away for the holidays to see the MIL up the coast. It was an interesting drive up - took us 7 hours, but Ben was wonderful.

He's rolling like mad, no more tummy time for him. haha He's only rolled back to front that one time I wasn't watching, although he's almost done it a few times going for the bewb.
The trip away did wonders for my depression. My MIL is a habitual cleaner (flylady calls her a Born Organised person lol) and it made me realise that DH not helping out and the house we're living in is contributing greatly to it.

So I spent a good part of today catching up on laundry and cleaning up/rearranging the "guest" room to store all of the furniture stuff we can't get rid of (part of the estate) that we don't use. I took apart a 100 year old bed without breaking it.

DH will be shocked and a bit annoyed, I'll guess when he gets home, because he wanted to "sort, pre-sort and post-sort-sort" the stuff in there. Pfft. Gave him aweek to do that so now it's all tidied and he can go f'ar$e about in there at his leisure now that I've done what needed to be done. lol

I've also started exercising daily (moving the furniture is my workout today tho) and eating better.

I'm determinted to kick the PND in it's bum instead of vice versa!

Good for you Popchex, we're proud of ya!

Well, I've been flying for 3 weeks now and it's great to be organised. I just paid a bill DH ran up in October, it had been lost in his inbox so I need to organise him too!

Eliana had mashed advocado today and loved it. I gave her homemade pasta with tomato sauce a couple of days ago and her botti got burnt. So I will hold back on the tomatoes for now.

I found a cool place in Perth which recycles clothes to Africa (Ecokids) and have been sorting thru clothes but it's a bit sad that there will be no more babies to save bits for  but it's nice to know that some littleun in Africa would appreciate our stuff so that helps.

Apart from that, I just got a call from my mate who wants me to go to a wedding with her, so that will be my first night out without Eliana. I'm a bit nervous but DH will have to cope. Don't know what I'm gonna wear!

BTW Thanks for the campsite recommendation Myztik, it looks cool and we might stay there.... but we're not sure yet. They've done lots of improvements and it looks very swish but it's at the pricier end of the scale; I'm not sure whether to take it easy and spend more and get all the conveniences, or go someplace cheaper without the ammenities...

Hugs to you all :hugs:

Welcome back Jayney and Popchex, glad you had a great holiday. Love the pics and the new avatar.

Thats a great idea about recycling baby clothes to africa Bessie. I give all of mine to vinnies, but i just get the impression some tight@rse (or an ebay seller) benefits rather than someone who actually needs the stuff. Might see if I can find something similar in Sydney.

I tried Paddy on Water today as it was very very hot in Sydney and we were out n about, he drank heaps so he must've been thirsty. I just have to get him his own cup now. (His sis might get upset if he drinks from hers, and they're pink anyway)

WEll I took Hamish to see Happy Feet today in Albany - his very first movie ever at the big screen - and mum looked after Lachlan. As he's only just over two I wasn't sure how he'd go but he loves penguins so it was a big hit. As was the popcorn.

Unfortunately came home to find out DH had been out on an ambo call to a MVA, where a toddler died. So sad, just makes me realise how precious and dangerous life is. Needless to say our boys are getting loads of extra cuddles tonight.

Liar!! What an excuse, mutter mutter

In our world - M had a tanty today that would make ANY and ALL of your children look like angels

WOW it was mightly impressive

it included

rolling in the centre of the main road
kicking
hitting
throwing anything
screaming
some sort of tribal on hands and knees wardance thing that she has left over from her last life in central Africa

I did a mixture of

standing my ground (rules wise)
sitting down waiting for it all to end
being there for when she decided she had finished
sighing and wondering how long it would last when she instantaneously started up again
comforted Jakey
tried to tell the dogs to stay where they were (not tied up but tied together) without chasing the cat they had found
picked her up under one arm and pushed the pram with the other in the hope of getting just a few meters closer to home...

Needless to say I AM KNACKERED!!!

Lets raise our glasses and drink to the spirit of a toddler and the tenacity of a mother!

Jayney, welcome back. Glad you and the boys are doing so well. Hope you can make it to the next met, would love to met you and the boys. If you come, the boys will out number the girls, other wise Cobey and Nix will be surrounded by girls:laughing:

Rachdent - congrats to Hamish on his first movie, its such a good day out!! Got to say though Faith's a regular movie goer, we've been 7 times since she has been born.. I think it has something to do with the industry I work in though  Sad news about the bubba in the MVA.. your husband must be a special kind of guy to work in that profession:hugs: to him for being brave enought to help others.

Kel - really hope you feel better soon. Did you get any test results back??

Seek - you've been quiet of late??

On a personal note dh and I had a nice night out last night, we joined the local soccer club recently and went down for a glass of wine and dinner. Cause we are members they put you in a free members draw.. which we won!! $250!! DH gave it to me and said that cause your sister is coming to visit this week on holidays you can splurge this on yourself and go shopping with her as I know you have been itching to hit the sales!! OMG I couldn't beleive it... probably won't though, just don't seem that interested in buying things for myself since Faith has come along. strange isn't it!

Gotta go, we are off to see the builder about our house plans... can't wait to get out of this rental!!!!

 morning my beautifuls. i'm feeling quite good this morning, Angel went down at 7.30pm, slept the whole night without even waking for her dummy  and woke at 6am this morning!! i haven't felt this good for ages, although it won't last give me a couple of hrs & i'll be stuffed!!!

i haven't got my results back yet, i worked yesterday, i work mon & tues, Ady's working today so wed is the day i'm getting them back aswell as Angel getting her 6mth needles. she was meant to have her needles 1wk ago Fri just gone but no one at the frigging doctors rung to say the nurse was on hols :banghead: i was fuming cause i felt like **** anyway & to top it off their stupid computers were down so i had to wait for 1hr & half for my appt!!! Angel was just as her name says - an Angel - thank god!!! i so wasn't happy though.

i'm trying something new with Angel this morn. whenever i don't work i feed her then go back to bed, but find that she's cranky by the time her next feed is (4 & half hrs later) & doesn't want to have hardly any bottle after her solids, just wants to sleep. so this morn we stayed up & she went down at 7.30am, she's still asleep now so hopefully this helps her to drink a bit more bottle at her 10.30 feed :fingerscrossed:

anyway, will go for now. lots of love to all, xxoo

Hi all!
Sorry no personals today...
Luci has started being hard to put to sleep... When she's in her home environment normally I put her down in her cot on her back with her dummy and leave her. Until she could roll I used to go back in about 5 mins later and put her on her tum, and done, she was asleep.
Now she can roll...she rolls onto her tummy and then off it again...She rolled onto her side and fell asleep really well y'day at Mum and Dad's. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. DH thinks its from her needles (such a sweetie) but I think she's just trying to test me and show me some more of her personality.
I don't mind really... but she's stopped sleeping through at night and so I'm feeling more under the weather.
Could it have something to do with BIL staying here? Or am I just looking for an excuse?
:banghead: DH and I are going out for dinner tonight. It's FIL's b'day so should be a fun time. My parents are looking after L. I hope she's well behaved.

Sorry for such a me me me post... Hope you all have a good weekend

 not strange at all hun.. I think all mums are the same.

some sort of tribal on hands and knees wardance thing that she has left over from her last life in central Africa

  you crack me up.. Gotta love those sorta tantrums, thank god its been awhile since DS1 threw one on that scale.

Had a good night last night, Kai went down at around 9:30 (I think) then woke for a feed at 4:30am then back down til 7.. I'm not complaining lol.. Got my little sisters here, they slept over last night.. I really dont know how people with 4 kids do it :banghead:

anywho I hear movement in the bedroom so I best go sort out breakfast

Mich - we must've posted at the same time.. Kai has been the same lately. He fights going to sleep with passion and more so since he's been rolling.. I've taken to lying with him on my bed and he rolls onto his side and snuggles right into me and falls asleep in about 10minutes... Gone is my self settler *sigh*
It may have something do to with BIL being there, any slight change in 'routine' can throw them out of whack..
Hope Luci settles again for you soon hun {{hugs}}

:hugs: for Jessie for surviving that tanty! I have a feeling Ben is going to be a right champ with them, so I'm coming to you for advice when it comes! lol

Mell, hope Nix gets better soon, and you get some rest! Ben feels hot often, and I think it's his teeth.

Faithsmum - good on you for a night out! I would love that, but when we had a sitter (MIL) DH and I were too knackered by the end of the night to go out!

I also went through a period of not buying anythign for myself, but I seem to have gotten over that in a big way. hahah  But part of that is my "therapy" in making myself look good so I feel good. Which means buying clothes that fit me, and getting a good haircut. heh

Mich- I feel for you! Ben has become quite the handful at nap and bedtime since we came back from our holiday, it's so exhausting! Weare trying to wean him from the swing though as he's outgrowing it in a few kgs. Has anything changed in your homelife recently to throw her off?

Myztik - SO CUTE! I love that last one - he looks like "I'm going to GET YOU!!!"

As for me - Ben slept through the night until *I* woke him up because I was being a sprinkler and couldn't sleep anymore because of it! He also ate a ton and is now sleeping in the swing after going through our cot/bed/swing fights.

I realised my "problem" with DH during an AHA! moment this morning - he offers courtesy to others (and expects it) more than he does to me, and I think that's why I get so stinky with him. Like when his mum was here after ben was born, he said to me "we need to keep it tidy since she's been cleaning for us..."
WHO AM I, chopped liver?
And things he used to get annoyed with from our housemates, he does himself, to me! BAH!
We need to "have a talk" tonight I think. I'm sick of being meek little housewife so as not to hurt his feelings, at the detriment of my own!

As for now I'm going to go do the dishes then spend the rest of Ben's nap outside enjoying the sun and my book a bit!

Goodness, I'm reading girls but not replying as I feel very mememe and needy when I reply :p I babble about myself and my boy with not as many personals so I feel guilty.

Jessie - What a monster tanty... Glad you (and Jakey, and the dogs.. oh and M!) survived it!

Mell - As I said in the other post, Cobey's a hot bubba so he often feels hot without a temp. Higa told me to check to feel if he's hot under his arm if I think he feels too hot. One day at the doctors I mentioned that he felt hot without a temp and he just wrapped his hands around cobey's head, nodded, and went on with his job

Mich - so sorry to hear about Luci's sleeping (or lack of) I can't imagine how draining it is.

Nell- I'm with Popchex - SO CUTE!!! AND I love that shirt hahaha

Jacqui - GO YOU on your win (both counts - the cash and the nice night out!)

HELLO JAYNEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can I brag just a wee bit. Mummies with bubs not sleeping, don't read further.

Cobey slept from 7.30 - 6.15 this morning... then went back to sleep at 7.45 and now, at 9.35, he's still asleep. I feel so refreshed.

Howdy all,

just a quick one as i have spent all of my net time reading! lol. i also have a wedding to get ready for (SIL) so cant be too long.

jessie - what was she having a tanty for? must have looked really funny. (for us that is i doubt you found it funny at the time!)

mich - connor is like that. just before i put him in bed and then 2 mins later he was screaming. went in and he was on his belly. flipped him back over and he is now asleep. every now and then he does it thru the night. once they get over the fact they have learnt something new they may stop. (well this is what im hoping for!)

thats it for now. oh hi jayney so good to see that you are doing well and still breast feeding! you are one great mummy!

Mell - cute piccy, it's just adorable. nix is so gorgeous

Myz - great piccys also. it's so cute how he's putting his arms out to you, it makes your heart melt doesn't it? i love it when Angel does that. she now also gives me huge smiles and gets real excited when i pick her up after i've been at work, it makes it all worthwhile :D

Mich - don't feel bad about your mememe post (same for you Seek) we all need to do it at times and that's what we're all here for :hugs: Angel doesn't go to sleep by herself or in her rocker anymore. i have to rock her to sleep in my arms, then put her in her cot and hope that she stays asleep (it's working so far), hence the fact that she never sleeps much when i'm at work :banghead: so she's then cranky for the rest of the night!!!!! although, it seems only Ady's sis can't get her to sleep!

Popchex - big huge hugs to you, i hope your talk goes ok. i hate them kinda talks, xxoo

well, lots of love to all, xxoo

Just in case it may be of any help I have posted this post all about the tanty - please feel free to skip!

thanks for the compliments guys - it really was full on - she even put my shoulder out - but Shea is right, it must have looked hilarious to the 'outsider'

One lovely lady even came out of her house to offer to help! Gawd bless her - several times I really had to bite my lip not to laugh, it was just plain ridiculous and thus quite comic the way she was throwing herself around. In particular the thought processes ie - gave up screaming but was determined to make a point so found a bush to hide in (just happenened to be a really pretty Aussie Native with little red bell flowers that matched her dress perfectly - would have made a perfect photo without the tear streaked face)

Anyway I managed to hold off in the LOL department

For the first timers - tantys (IMO) - god love em! - try to remember that it is just frustration, try not to get angry just breath deeply and persist and say to yourself "This WILL end" - we have them about every six months or so and if you handle it the right way they stay like that - few and far between - if you cave AT ALL - you will get WAY more! No matter where you are, don't worry about what other people think - just stay calm and patient and it will all end well!

Biggest factor - FRUSTRATION!! While the common tanty is mighty traumatic for the adult it is ALMIGHTY traumatic for the toddler too - usually they have reached a horrendous level of frustration that if you think about it would be very uncomfortable

Also try to remember that a tanty means your child has the ability to think for themselves - this is a good thing!

Immediate factors - tired, ate some 'bad' thing - usually packed with preservatives - trying to tell you something that you are just not getting - etc etc - if you just take mental note when you get them you will soon identify your bubbas triggers

Don't forget though, they are a build up and stage thing too - good news, they are the bottom of the barrel - it only gets better from there!

Hope this helps

On this note - gentle reminder - a REAL Godsent for dealing with tantys - SIGN LANGUAGE!!!! Now is the time to start teaching yourself a bit about sign and start talking to them with your hands, oh if I had a penny for every tanty we DIDN'T have thanks to sign!

OMG that is the cutest thing I've seen in a very long while... wish mine would do that!

I don't mind really... but she's stopped sleeping through at night and so I'm feeling more under the weather.

Hey Mich - I feel your pain and am sending hugs, prayers and pos vibes your way. I hope one day soon both our babes are back to being angels. At least yours is back to being an angel and mine becomes one - sleeping wise!

Your DH sounds a bit like mine. I had a bit of a whinge today - he said he was going to have a nap and I was like - ''when do I get a nap'' or when do I just get to do what I want? Think he got it as when he came back from work, he let me have some me time. And so he should...

Can I brag just a wee bit. Mummies with bubs not sleeping, don't read further.

Cobey slept from 7.30 - 6.15 this morning... then went back to sleep at 7.45 and now, at 9.35, he's still asleep. I feel so refreshed.

You can brag - if I can shoot you!!! Haha, just kidding. Glad some of us are getting beauty sleep.

As usual another boring day in my world,a lthough I have to say Hamish was the biggest darling of all today. He played so fabulously all day and barely needed a moment of mummy-time,w hich is really rare for him. It was especially astounding considering he didn't have a sleep.

Anyway off to wash my hair - hopefully I get in the shower before Lachlan does his usual wake-half-an-hour after their inbed thing!!

mell, thats really a cute pic, i love it when lina puts herself to sleep, im with kell, now at the stage where she loves to be rocked to sleep.

well todays scrapping party was fab. i thoroughly enjoy doing it! and my cheese ball recipe was a success. very very yummy. im so glad it turned out, but its very easy to make, but being the first time, everyone enjoyed it!

natty chucked a huge wobbly tonight. must be the week for tanties. brianna had taken her dora toy, so she threw her self down, then got up and bit brianna  thats a big no no in this house. then went screaming off to her room. came out 10mins later all red faced, and said 'sowwy' *sigh!

so ladies, when is our next live chat meet? what night works best for everyone?

You go girlfriend! Taking each other for granted is the worst trap you can fall into in a relationship, lets hope that man of yours takes note!

Thanks for the Tanty tips Jessie, I'm with you in that I love a good tanty (an outlet for excess energy) I normally sit back and watch everything unfold. I think I'm due for one, (and an absolute monster one at that) as we have discovered the concept of "mine" but as yet cant express it consistantly, and dont quite understand this whole "sharing" business oh yeah and we really hate having to be nice to kids we dont like.

Hugs to those having settling problems, just remember it's all just a developmental thing. Bubs are going through huge changes at the moment with sitting, rolling, crawling etc.
It will pass, but in the meantime there are many ways you can deal with it, and being 6 months old now you can do controlled crying *TinyStar ducks for cover* seriously Miss E was very tenacious, and CC worked for us. If anyone wants instructions, including a mini version just PM me.

Cheers All.

2. how old are bubbas when they go into a booster seat (in the car)?

I think Cobey's been saying "Ba" or "Da" yesterday he said it definitely but his fingers were in his mouth so it oculd've just been an "ah" with fingers. But today I heard him say "BaBa" or "DaDa" but that's it, he didn't repeat it and hasn't since....
He has this funny ol' high pitched "Aaaah" on him, oh I laugh.

Higa - Cheers for y'day :) The cheeseball was great.

Popchex - On the curtosey thing - husband and I have this argument weekly. He ALWAYS helps other people out but not me. He's a Computer Person-Thing and will fix his friends and just random people's computers while mine sits in a heap not being able to be used for ages. I hate it.

Howdy Howdy.

Had an average night at the wedding yesterday. It was really lovely and all but i didin't really know anyone, sat by myself for a lot of the time at and empyt table while hubby wrote himself off (everytime we go somewhere with free booze he writes himself off) so i told him to go stay at his mums house. he came back at 7 this morning showered and is now in bed. Even though we have had the same amount of sleep. How is this fair huh? Sorry, rant over.

seek & Kel - how exciting with cobey's & angel's speech. haven't even ehard anythign remotely like that. all i have heard lately are bubbles - but he can do them now without spitting as much!

jess - thanks for the tanty advice. i'll have to store it at the back of my brain for later!

anyways, i'm going to take the little fella food shopping. TTFN

Hi girls
I had an unexpected night out yesterday, my pg friend's DH has a new job and she didn't want to go to a wedding on her own, so I was her DH replacement.
It was lovely to get out and when I came home there was a little handmade pressie from DD1 on my bed, she'd made a little plastic thing (Hama) and had even wrapped it and written "to the best mummy in the world" on it.... ahhhh.
Well, more from me later as I'm struggling to keep my eyes open! The wedding was lovely but it was very odd in that I didn't know the couple... but my mates bub is due really soon and she wouldn't have gone if I hadn't.
Lol at the tanty Jessie  I have a terrible sense of humour and find it very hard not to crack up at times like that.
Kel - I'm not sure when they're OK for a proper bed.... my kids were 2 or 3 I think. I keep mine in the cot for a while since they tend to crawl alot and could crawl past any side bars (which you put on the bed to stop them rolling out). It's not so funny once they work out how to climb out of their cot and you awake to an almighty thud and a screaming bubba on the floor.
Hugs to you all :hugs:

just a quick one for now. i do have a couple of questions though:
1. how old are bubbas when they go into a proper bed?

With the bed thing, it is up to you. We didn't put Bodhi into a bed (he has a toddler bed) until he was 2, but i know a lady who put her 4mth old into a bed as she was so active in her sleep, that she would constantly wake herself up the cot, she just had full length bed rails.

What sort of booster seat are you talking about. We put Bodhi into a booster seat about 2 mths after he turned 2. I think the min weight is about 14kgs, if this is the type of booster seat you are talking about. If you just want to turn Angel around, i think it is either 6 mths or 8kg.

Well not much to report from me.

Bessie, glad you had fun at the wedding. How special are the little gifts that the kids make, they always bring a tear to my eyes.

Shae big :hugs: Mum's rock, we just keep going and going, sometimes i don't know how but men on the other hand, just don't get it

HIGA, you will have to make the cheese ball for the next met.

thks mell. we already turned Angel around ages ago cause she hated being the other way  so i was jsut wondering what age you put them in those booster seat things, so you answered my question perfectly and also with the bed thingy (thks Bessie also) just was wondering what age

the reason i'm asking is cause if my dad moves in then we want to make downstairs the spare room & the spare room upstairs will be Angel's room & we keep the nursery as the nursery for the next bubba. so just wanted to know ages and stuff

so enough of my ramble, might be a couple of days till i get on again so lots of love to all, xxoo

Two times in one week I have got on the puter. Oh my thats amazing for me.

The boys are getting their 6 months needles tomorrow and we all have this blasted cold. Do they still give them their needles if they have a cough?

I certainly will try and make it on the 18th. Not real good with the western suburbs though. I will l probably get lost.

Glad to be back and hi to all you guys. I have missed you all.

my DS1 was in a bed by his 1st birthday purely because at 10mnths the monkey child decided to climb out of his cot :banghead:
Booster seats.. umm I cant remember exactly how old DS1 was, I think it was just when he grew out of the car seat lol..

ooh I feel you hun.. DF does the same thing but he'll come home drunk and wake me up to have deep and meaningfuls then get all depressed and miserable coz I'm grumpy.. go figure.. then he spends majority of the next day in bed and wonders why I'm even angrier when he gets up... OR he'll sit up til 4am watching movies or playing games on the pc then sleep all the next day.. umm excuse me I am lacking in sleep coz I'm getting up to our son not staying up by choice to play games..

I think it varies place to place but in WA they recommend waiting thil they are healthy again, it doesnt matter if they get their needles a week or two late.

Mell - that photo is gorgeous!! Been awhile since my boy put himself to sleep lol.

I'm feeling all sorry for myself atm lol. Woke up yesterday morning to find my mobile phone and my packet of cigs (of all things) had been stolen off the table outside my back door.. DF is apologizing like crazy for leaving my phone outside, he should've known better seeing as other thigns have disappeared from out there before.. So all my photo's and little video recordings of Kai and Zac that were on my phone are now gone :( and seeing as DF walked out on his job a month ago and hasnt found more work yet I cant go get a new phone... with my back as bad as it is I like a phone on me at all times incase something happens when I'm alone with the boys.. I'm just so sick of my things being stolen *sigh*

I'm trying to think of somewhere to take the boys today seeing as the weather is just beautiful.. wonder if Zac would like mini golf or if he'd get bored halfway through...

might go look through the phone book for idea's

Pop - I'm with you in that I think Pip is gonna be a wobbly chucker.... she already has a habit of screaming when I leave the room when she's in a foul mood.... I really need to get her a play centre...

Shea - :hugs: for you in the drunken other half dept.... my ex was like that and it caused many an argument... needless to say he spent many a night in the spare room... to the point where he didn't even bother coming into our room if he got home drunk, he just went straight there.... if it makes you feel any better I got woken by drunken msgs from that male friend of mine last night and there's not even anything going on!! WTF!!

Seek - :p to you about the sleep... lol... I'm gonna attempt a nap this arvo... I just need one night of unbroken sleep and I'd be ready and raring to go again.... oh and Pip has been making "baba" sounds too!! It's sooooo cute!

Mell - that is one adorable little boy.... and you too Myz!

HIGA - I'm with you on feeling a little green around the gills!!

Woohoo Jayney on two times in one week!

Kel - we have a cot that converts to a toddler bed... so Pip will be in it for a while yet... once she actually makes it in there.... she has taken to trying to spoon me lately every time I turn my back to her....

Mich - I feel your pain... I think it hurts more when a bub that once slept through stops rather than having one that never slept thru.... at least then you wouldn't know what your missing!

Your 100% right TS - there is just so much going on in there little worlds inside and out of course they are going to be a little unsettled from time to time!

Oh Shea - I woke up to Pip crying last night cos she'd rolled onto her belly too!

Well we had my sis's 21st last night... was not too bad... her friends were all a bunch of drunken maggots.... so not my thing anymore! A couple of friends of mine said they'd really like to look after Pip one day so I think I might take them up on the offer so I can have some me time at last....

Oh.... and realised just how little my sis thinks of me and my 14 yr old sis last night.... she mentioned absolutley EVERYBODY else at the party in her speech except us.... she even likened mums fiance, who she despises, to a father figure, but completely left us out!! So Jess, what's Murgon like this time of year.... LOL....

Anyway I've hogged enough... bubba is hungry... must disappear again!

Jayney - Hi !!! Well done with the posting succession!!

After my tanty post the other day I posted all my personals - which was HEAPS and the computer keeled over

ggrrrrr

No way I can remember them all now. Oh Well

HIGA - your description of Natties tanty is gorgeous ie the sorry bit - I love the afterwards coy part!

Seek - five mins and he will be chat chat chat just like us!

Myzzie - I keep meaning to ask you how your back is? Mine is shot at the moment - I think of you when I have trouble lifting my weights, oops I mean son
- sorry to hear about your phone!

Re the other halves behaving a bit badly

:shame:

Which reminds me Mell - my DH asked me to post a while ago a message to your DH "What do you mean by breaking the unspoken code we all have and actually buying the eternity ring....traitor!"

whereas my somewhat opposing message to him is "Little Aussie Champion You!!!"

I took my mum out for dinner last night (yep Mich we went to the Bell Tower!) and we actually had a really lovely night - didn't even argue!

Scott is about to have his first rostered days off - night shift on Wed - I am so pleased as it has felt a bit full on without him here while he did his induction and first days on shift

He takes the car with him, leaves at 5am back at 7pm so it will take me a while to learn to manage without said vehicle!

One of the things I did ask in my post that wasn't is teeth - of those whose bubs have teeth - did the bottom ones come first for all of you?

Other Stuff...

oh yeah and we really hate having to be nice to kids we dont like.
Don't we all!

1. how old are bubbas when they go into a proper bed?
2. how old are bubbas when they go into a booster seat (in the car)?

Be warned this is another of those points that will differ hugely depending on who you speak to - we found that the child should be fairly old before going to the booster seat because of the seat belt system - so we got an inbetween one for M - the important thing is that they still need the five point belt system - ask your ambos they should be a good source of info - and you have that 'safe house' in Bris that should be a good place to ask too

Re the bed - depends on the child, M is still in a cot which works really well for us (about to go into a bed) I didn't want to deal with the change until J was more settled, which will of course be ????????

Ready now though I think - her cot actually changes to a bed

If you have a climber (was that you Rach??) - prob heaps earlier!

Lol at the tanty Jessie  I have a terrible sense of humour and find it very hard not to crack up at times like that.

Must be an English dry sense of it - me too!

The boys are getting their 6 months needles tomorrow and we all have this blasted cold. Do they still give them their needles if they have a cough?
I have wondered about this - let us know what they say

So Jess, what's Murgon like this time of year.... LOL....
Only thing missing is you my friend! Perfect house next door available to rent ( a bit high for here $220pw) but that includes a high set QLD on 4 acres with a dam at the front and an awesome view - plus the neighbours brother is staying here for a bit and he looks like a bit of a catch to me - does the dishes and everything!!

Shea - keep meaning to say, love your avatar - who took that pic??

Howdy again.
well dh has redemeed himself and looked after connor while we were out at his SIL and is now cooking dinner. However, while at SIL had discovered that most of his family are going to the zoo tomorrow and i wasn;t even invited. my other SIL said to me 'are you going to the zoo tomorrow?" to which i replied i heard nothing about it. Then she said "Oh" and went really quiet. MIL then kept talking all afternoon about it without asking me. not cool.

well im gonna try this multi quote thingy:

The boys are getting their 6 months needles tomorrow and we all have this blasted cold. Do they still give them their needles if they have a cough?

If they are sick i dont not believe they will. Give them a call first otherwise you could get all the way there to only have to turn around.

Shea - keep meaning to say, love your avatar - who took that pic??

Thanks! i love it too! my sis took it and then i made it pretty so that it will be the pic that is going to be on the candles for the naming ceremony.

thats all from me. have a good night TTFN

Evening ladies

Well, we had quite a good day today as we went to the farm ofsomeone DH works with at ambos and Ham had the time of his life. Lachlan was quite intrigued too, watching the shearing and the bulls.

By the way Jessie - you've probably said - but has your DH recently started a new job? If so, what's he doing??

I think everyone's pretty much answers this, but Ham is now almost 2 and a 1/2 and still in his baby-toddler car seat. As for a bed, we tried the week after I had Lachlan - against all better judgement - but he kept coming into our room and so we put the sides back on again till a couple of months ago. I think just after he turned two we tried again - although it is a bit of a pain cos he generally gets out at least once a night . But as everyone said, it depends on the baby and the parents... what's right for one family is not for another.

[QUOTE=Shea;968174]Howdy again.

Glad to hear DH redeemed himself... my hubby does the same thing sometimes... times like those I think NO WAY AM I HAVING ANOTHER... but then Lachlan looks so cute and I think... IS THIS REALLY IT?? I know = the lack of sleep is making me INSANE!!

By the way, Lachlan is hardly eating any of the solids I offer him... he seems interested in eating but when we actually try he can't seem to swallow.. anyone else's bub like this??

KNow I wanted to reply to a couple more of ya but can't for the life of me think what I was planning on say8ing... here's hoping I'm more together tomorrow.

HIGA - congrats on a great party AND a great cheese thingy. you'll have to make it now for our meet on the 18th :p

well i certainly was considering making it. i think i think i think i will :p

I will l probably get lost.

wow jayney good to see another post so soon! i would definitely ring the surgery first, my experience ( i worked in medical) was that if bubs are sick, to hold off on needles. but pending how sick theyve been and how long for. definitely ring first and see what they say (all surgeries are different)
as for coming to the meet? DEFINITELY. would be great to see you and the twins again.

yes, the coy part always gets me! as for the teeth, its always been the bottom front ones first, linas 2nd one looks like its going to come through any day now.

nell, sorry to hear bout your things being stolen. that sux majorly.

we just got home not long ago, from MIL, celebrating my nephews 4bday, and my Dh & BIL bday (its tomorrow) and i've just come on quickly to say hello, and now i need to get the girls things ready for tomorrow, as im working:eek: wonder how i will feel after ive come home. buggared!

Hi all - I'm back from being AWOL again

Two quickies for me, but being away from your computer for a bit means that there's too much to reply to, so i'll wait till the next day and do any personals then, except for the two questions about car seats and beds ('cos I remember them - but forget who asked).

Car seat - Mr A is still in his Fisher and Price convertible. I bought a booster when I was pregnant as I didn't want to run two car seats, but little man doesn't grow at any great knots and is still about 13.5kg and short, so as someone else said - the seat belt doesn't look too great on him. (There is some sort of extra strap you can buy) Since my mum had a spare car seat - for when she babysits my nephew or son - it's now mine. We do use the booster occasionally but only if a short trip in the other car (or if he's with a grandma or something). I only reversed his seat originally when he was about 9months.

Bed - Mr A went into a bed (with a Safety 1st bed rail) when he could climb out of the cot. He would have just turned 2 as it was just before I went to hospital. I rue the day as ever since, he now runs into my bedroom every morning (sometime round 5 or 6) and I have no chance of getting back to sleep after.

Oh, and thanks to everyone for their hugs and good wishes. Still feeling pretty drained - but my head is gradually clearing. I tend to vent on here as it's the safest place (I'm sure my MIL is sick of me venting to her and DH is a bad person to vent about this stuff as he's been living it longer and is closer to the situation.), so I'll probably end up clearing my head more by venting here. At least on the internet, people can choose not to read your posts, but when you talk to them face to face, they don't necessarily admit that they've had enough of your problems.:o

:chef:

Okay - I've been promising this for a bit, and as luck would have it, I found an email I sent to another bubhubber with the info I wanted to post, so I'll just cut and paste it!!! Keep in mind it was to a lady with a little girl (her bubba was pretty much 6months and she was worried about her not crawling).

Anyway, here's some info for you on development of sitting, and crawling etc and also some activity ideas. Some of it will be stuff you already know and sorry if too simple etc. It can be a bit tricky sometimes to give ideas without meeting face to face as I don't know your bub's interests and what toys you already play with or activities you already do at home, so you'll find this is very general. (If you want anymore info once you get this, I promise to reply quicker :) ).

"Normal" stages of the development of sitting (after about 3months to about 12months) can be listed as follows:
- 4-6months > Sitting in a baby chair with back and sides supported or propped on a pillow support (sometimes tripillows can be good, I've also used tyre tubes); Sitting leaning forward on hands, with legs bowed out
- 6-9months > Sitting leaning on hands and lifting one hand to play with feet or a toy; sitting alone on the ground; sitting and reaching in all directions with a hand supporting
- 9-12months > Sitting and turning to play and reach without supporting self with a hand; sitting in various positions (eg. legs to side, long legged sitting..), turning in sitting; sitting in a chair and playing, sitting alone on a regular chair or stool; rising out of sitting and getting into all sitting positions.

"Normal" stages of the development of crawling (after about 3months) can be listed as follows:
- 3-6months > weight bearing on knees and / or forearms; stretching forward to reach, lean on one forearm and reach with the other arm; roll from front to back
- 6-9months > weight bear on hands then weight bear on hands and knees; lean on one hand and reach with the other (about 7months) when on hands and knees, lift an arm, or leg or both (about 8months)
- 9months > Crawling - rise into the crawl position - take off any time from now.

I've listed these stages as "Normal" as it's how the text books describe it, but can differ from one bub to another. All books are a bit different, but I've taken these from my most trusted source and from kids I've observed. An important thing to remember is that good head control needs to come before back control, which needs to come before good leg and arm control, as if you're not stable in your body, then you've got even less chance of being stable in your arms and legs (and therefore not able to play or move well - eg crawling).

In terms of activities, the most important thing is to present your bub with as many opportunities as possible to join in activities at different levels. For instance:
- place a toy frame with toys at different heights above bub with toys that feel different, sound different and look different, so it encourages reach. This frame can be placed on the floor over bub (with bub lying on her back sometimes or lying on tummy sometimes or in supported sitting sometimes) or just out of reach.

- blowing bubbles can be a great motivator to get bub to sit up as it encourages head movement and therefore neck control (which is needed for sitting). You can also used balloons (as these move slow enough for bub to follow.

- You can try supporting your bub in sitting for short periods (extending a bit more each day so her muscles get a chance to strengthen). If she's always in supported sitting (ie with pillows etc.) then it's harder for her muscles to do the stabilising themselves.

- place your bub on her tummy over a fit ball and roll it from side to side - this can be a bit tricky to describe and is better to demonstrate, but with small balls, you can roll the ball to allow her feet to touch the floor and back to her hands. You can also sit bub on the ball (always support at her hips - forgot to put this in the point above) and bounce it a bit. The bouncing gives input to the joints which help them develop a sense of where they can move themselves

- Lay your bub over your lap and with her hands and feet touching the ground, also try with her straddling one of your legs (again support at her hips)

- Lay your bub on her tummy with a small pillow (or some sort of small wedge cushion) under her chest to encourage lifting her head - again, you can have bubbles or balloons floating...

- make a mat of different textures (eg. corduroy, cotton wool, velvet, astroturf...) to encourage moving forward with hands when on tummy

- place your bub in a cardboard box with her back in the corner with her favourite toy as a way to let her play in supported sitting.

- help your bub move from lying to sitting through rolling onto her side and pushing up with her hand (try this while supporting her at the hips and shoulders) Again, this is better demonstrated than written.

- When she's in supported (or unsupported) sitting place toys on both sides of her to encourage turning to both sides. She'll need rotation to move on to crawling..

- play action games with hands (eg. pat-a-cake) to encourage use of two hands together.

- roll a ball to her when she's in supported (or unsupported) sitting

Most important is to present any activities when she's in a variety of postures (on tummy, back, side, supported sitting, unsupported sitting etc).

Enjoy;)

Thanks for the activities Pegs:thumbsup: Mr P is certainly in some crutial in-between stage ATM, so will give loads of encouragement. I found him trying to get mobile with his bum in the air and legs waving around like mad, totally hilarious but worrying at the same time I am afraid he will be a speedy one!

I have had such a hard time keeping up with posts lately, but now DH is back at work I can come on during the day with out getting hassled about all the other stuff I am meant to be doing.

HIGA just what IS a cheeseball???????? Is this some QLD thing?

Nell I hate it when stuff gets nicked, we are having a mini crime wave in my street cos of the holidays. (There is a pub on the corner) Our neighbour keeps his storeroom door unlocked now to save the morons the trouble of breaking in:eek:

Shea, dont worry about the zoo thing when choosing between stupidity or a conspiracy the stupidity wins out about 99% of the time. (In other words they may not have done it on purpose) anyway you have been invited to fabulous sydney july mums meets up friday next week which none of them have!

Well done! It's soo great to hear from you.

Like everyone else has said, I'd call to check about the needles before you get there. Luci had the tail end of a cold when she was due for her 4 month shots and they still gave them to her. Not sure if I'd do it again with her being a little sick as she ended up having the cold for another two weeks.

Woke up yesterday morning to find my mobile phone and my packet of cigs (of all things) had been stolen off the table outside my back door..

I'm trying to think of somewhere to take the boys today seeing as the weather is just beautiful..

:hugs: To you. It's so horrible that you lost all you photos and videos.

Did you find somewhere nice to go?

Baby sign, I love it. My sis showed me some info on it and Jess encouraged me. I've been using it since L was about 2 mths and we love it.

I agree that the not sleeping through after sleeping through is hard, but at least I haven't been a zombie like this for the last 6 months.

And Kaz, if you don't move to Murgon my neck of the woods if not too bad

Glad you and your ma enjoyed your night!

L has a tooth just under her gum on the bottom, so I'd imagine it will be the first through.

Pegs, thanks for the development stuff. DH and I find it sooo helpful.

News from our end...
Dinner on Saturday night was lovely.
Sunday we went to the beach! (L's first time. She LOVED the water and the sand)
Settling and sleeping is getting better. She started off in our bed last night (went to sleep fairly easy at 9:30pm), woke at 4am for a feed, then into her cot. Woke at 6 and came back into our bed (she was cold I think) and then woke at 7. Back asleep at 8:30 without too much drama. :smiliedance: She's started sleeping on her back occasionally which seems to be helping with the rolling off her tummy etc.
Will keep you posted on how we go.

And she's awake!
Talk more later

I actually rang the hospital a few weeks ago to see if the could at least give me an approx. date for the surgery but all she could tell me was I was on the waiting list and they'd call me when they had a date.. Thanks for asking though lol.. I feel for anyone who has even slight back pai now days so hope your starts feelign better soon :)

Yeah hwe have a pub down the road too and alot of young hoons that use my street as a speedway Grrr.. Last time DF went to vist DSS for a weekend I woke up to kids voices down the side of my house and when I went outside heard them take off over the side fence, my ciggies were taken that night so I'm thinking it may've been the same kids actually looking for smokes and just got an added bonus with my phone being outside..

Mich - We didnt end up going anywhere coz by the time DF woke up I was in such a foul mood I didnt want to be in the same room as him let alone the car or anywhere else  We took the boys to the fun station today though and had a nice time... Poor chicken - Lachlan has been doing much of the same!

Fairly ordinary day here - everything seems to shut down in the country in January, so I'm hanging out for my trip to Perth - highlight the July Perth meet - next week. Lots of shopping is in order me thinks.

Hubby and I had a rather deep conversation last night... he's an athiest you see, whereas I believe strongly in God. Anyway he`had an ''epiphany'' last night that the world was not going to end with a huge bang, bomb, fight whatever but that due to apathy on behalf of everyone, it's just going to slowly fade away. And he got me thinking... perhaps he's right... hardly anyone seems to volunteer anymore... many people seem really materialistic and often selfish and I just wonder if there's anything we can do to get back some values of thinking of others before ourself.,.. sorry this may sound heavy - probably I've gone too long without sleep... but it just got me thinking. Will stop babbling now.

Hey rach - I was thinking of something a little bit similar to this tonight. I believe in God (christened Methodist) and practice in my own home, but don't go to church. My hubby isn't an atheist, but doesn't pray etc. (Not that he tells me about or whatever). Anyway, I was brought up going to Sunday school and singing lots of songs (actually I sang anywhere), and for some reason, I started thinking about how am I going to introduce a spiritual side to A and K's lives. I know I'll talk to them about stuff, but am thinking finding a supportive church, was just not sure how I'd go with taking the two of them, and when it might be appropriate.

As for getting back values - I fully recommend a book I've got called - "Children of the Lucky Country?" by Fiona Stanley, Sue Richardson and Margot Prior. It talks a lot about opportunities and how we can create them for our children and how we can nuture them.

Will pop back on later to answer personals - I just wanted to put that on while I thought of it.

OMG, i am so flucking tired  It is 2am and i have already been up to Nix 4 times, i don't know what is going on. The first time i think he was hot, so i changed him gave him a feed only to have him wake again about a hour later. :banghead: Bodhi has just jumped in our bed as he woke up to go to the toilet but he is coughing so there is no way i can sleep with him there, so i will just hang out on here until he is asleep then i will put him back into his bed. Bodhi has Kindy today so i think i will sleep when Nix is sleeping today. At the moment i would love just to have 4 hour straight of sleep. OK winge over.

HIGA, how was your day at work? Was Miss Lina good?

Nel, love the photos, Kai is such a cutie.

Kaz, i keep forgetting to ask, did you hear back from that guy? Hope you are feeling better soon. Our 2 little devils must be going through the same thing at the moment :devil6:

Sean and i have a wedding to go at the beginning of march, and i don't know what i am going to do with Nix, it is no kids. He will not talk a bottle or cup of any sort. The first time he tried the cup, he drank from it, but that was the only time. Plus he is going through the clinging stage where he has to have me in his sight all the time, i am sure he will be over that by then, but i can pretty much guarantee that he will not have a bottle. I might just have to ring them to see if i can take him.

OMG, Nix is waking up again :banghead: WHY, WHY, WHY.

Pip has this "lovely" new habit where she screams in this high pitch scream everytime I leave the room for even a second.... its near impossible to get stuff done....

I hear you girls!!! I just started walking away from Bianca the other day, she held her breath, went all red in the face, then SREAMED!!! Arms stretched out and everything! What a performance, I can tell you!!!

I heard though, that it can last usually until they're 12 months, but can go as long as until they're 18 months...??? :fingerscrossed: Hope not!!!:fingerscrossed:

Sean and i have a wedding to go at the beginning of march, and i don't know what i am going to do with Nix, it is no kids. He will not talk a bottle or cup of any sort. The first time he tried the cup, he drank from it, but that was the only time. Plus he is going through the clinging stage where he has to have me in his sight all the time, i am sure he will be over that by then, but i can pretty much guarantee that he will not have a bottle. I might just have to ring them to see if i can take him.

I went to my cousins wedding in november and that was a 'no kids' one aswell.. I just called and explained Kai wasnt on the bottle yet and they said it was fine to take him..
And Kai's getting really clingy too lately.. He'll cry if I walk away from him even if daddy's holding him.

Lying on the floor watching Kai last night and he was getting up on his hands and knee's and actually managing to move forward but he's pushing with his toes not his knee's lol..

DS1 just woke the household up coz he rolled off his bed again  might have to get a gaurdrail thingy if he doesnt stop moving round in his sleep. Better go see if he hurt himself..

Hi girls
The wedding I went to on Saturday was a no kids one and Eliana is only taking sips of water from a cup. It wasn't until 4 so I fed her loads and DH was under instructions to feed her (food) and give water... he had my number and we weren't far away so he could have brought her to me if she got really desperate. My mate had to leave at 10.00pm and I just got one text message from DH at 9.00pm saying she wants "Mama" (She's saying that and "Maaammmee" now) but he managed to calm her down with tunes from his mobile phone. It's funny though, just before that text message came thru at 9.00pm, I felt my milk come in (you know when your boobs feel tight) and so we must be pretty synchronised lol.
So Mel, if the sitter is nearby, maybe you won't have to worry about feeding as they could bring bubby to you? (Bit hard though if you're far away).
I'm actually quite glad the wedding was sprung on me so to speak, as I did go into panic mode (re Eliana and feeding etc) but I didn't have long to stress over it.
It helped knowing that she was with DH as I knew he would be OK if she chucked a wobbly.
Not much else to say except my flylady stuff is working and I'm getting into good routines with the kids and DH is helping out too.
I'm looking forward to our Perth meet, it should be fun. I'm thinking of changing DS's daycare day so he can come as the other littluns will be there and DD1 would appreciate him there to play with.
Hugs to you all x

quick question... is anyone else bubs bad about pinching? Kai pinches my neck, face anywhere he can get his chubby little fingers and it hurts lol.. I have scratches and bruises all over me atm..
also how often are you needing to cut their nails? I seem to have to do Kai's every few days they grow so fast!

lastly can on of the perth girls pm me and let me know if a location for the meet has been agreed on yet please *batts eyelashes*

Myztik, Bianca does the same thing...pinches while cuddling me!!! Kills sometimes! I have to cut her fingernail about every three days and toenails every 1 - 1½ weeks. I have to do mine regularly too, so she must get it from me. I think the 'normal' for fingernails is supposed to be weekly???

YYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGH Major "memememememe ventventwhinge" post.

Cobey won't sleep. It's not that he won't self settle but he won't sleep. Rocking, jiggling, lying beside him, feeding and all the other things aren't working for him at the moment.. he screams and screams in my arms :( It's soo frustrating and he does it with nearly every sleep.
I want my beautiful self settling boy back. I NEED him back.
I think it's teeth really, after discussing it a few places teeth seem to keep coming up.. he *bit* me yesterday the little bugger, he wasn't getting any more boobie after that one!!! he chews hardcore on everything again (favourite being my finger. YEOUCH!!!!!!!!!! and yesterday while screaming before a nap I put some bonjela on his gums and he was asleep within minutes (pretty big indication yeah?) but that didn't help yesterday.

I'm so sad. I wish he'd just conk out like he used to.

Slightly annoyed with husband-of-mine and his come home from work, hug baby, pass baby back and use computer until 4am. we had a big argument yesterday as he was lying beside Cobey on the floor talking to someone on the phone while Cobey whinged as he'd rolled himself and gotten stuck somewhere... instead of just rolling him back Chris ignored him, I got up him and then that turned to me because I should've been in there watching him - even though he was right beside him.
Chris also admits that he doesn't have the daddy-attachment that he thought he would. And I explained what i hope is the right thing.. which is not to expect it until he starts recognising him and giving hugs and getting happy at the sound of his car.
Also yesterday.. (oh fuming about this) I cleaned the entire kitchen (which really should be taped off by the health department) and I asked Chris if we could get in the habit of the one who cooks, doesn't have to wash the dishes, and the one who doesn't cook washes the dishes after the meal. He agreed.

Well I had to wash the dishes this morning didn't I.. after *i* made lasagne last night. SOOO MAD. I mentioned it and all I received was a shrug *sigh* what to do with him - other than throw the frying pan at his head?

I hate how when we're out and about he gets comments on how he's a great hands on dad... when at home it's a completely different story. I told him that too.

He's agreed that he'll come home and bath him (rather than leaving me to do all cobey and house stuff all day, then feed, bath, dinner, brush teeth and put him to sleep when Chris is on his bum in front of the computer) and he agreed as well that on the weekends it's his job to feed him his dinner as well as bath him. I hope this works out... I get so upset that my chest feels tight.

I just had to get that all out.. thanks for reading.

Seek Big :hugs: I hope Cobey sorts himself out soon and starts to be good to his mummy. It is so hard when you don't know what is going on, you know that there is something there that is annoying them, but you have to play :detective: to try and work it out. Hope Chris starts helping you out a bit more, if not, just throw that fry pan at his heap

Nel, with the pinching, Nix pinches my neck and it hurts so much. I am surprised it doesn't leave bruisers.

Oh Seek, vent away, we're all happy to listen.

The 6 month mark can be very rocky, with so many developmental milestones and those teeth! Hope they hurry up and come through quickly for poor Cobes.

I somehow managed to get 2 compliments from my DH last night (I'll send him over to see Chris Seekrit, he'll sort him out!) one for making the bathroom sparkle, and the other for cooking a nice dinner. It's nice but there are so many other things I'd rather be good at:rolleyes:

seek you poor thing, it is so horrible with an unsettled baby i feel myself slowly going insane when chloe is like that.... you should organise coffee with some friends and make your DH look after Cobes for a few hours :) (make sure its his unsettled time of day too)

Tiny star compliments are great aren't they! Al actually bought me home a pressie yesterday i had been talking about the schapelle corby book and that i thought it would be very interesting and he bought it for me :)

chloe is being a screamer too - usually when shes happy she decides to get attention by screaming, my friend who has a 12 month old said her boy did the same and that she just ended up ignoring him and that did the trick.

connor does this as well. dont end up with brusies but it does hurt.

woke up twice last night as he got stuck on his belly, then up for 5am for the day. all day he has been wide awake until now - the time i need him to be awake! :banghead:

mil has also decided that she doesn't want to babysit on sunday (which i asked her weeks and weeks ago) as they are going away for the weekend to their van up the coast. so after not inviting me and connor to the zoo she now leaves us last minute to find a sitter for sunday! what a biatch!

better go, going to my first weight watchers class tonight with my mum, sis and friend. so, last day as fat shea and bye bye baby belly :smiliedance:

Hi girls
I just had an idea... seeing as there are some crafty girls amongst us... I was reading this thread http://www.1000journals.com/index.php?view=Journals%2FDetail&id=114
and wondered if any of you lovely July mummies wanted to do a journal circle which we could pass round... maybe we could even do one each and complete them over a few months and they would make nice momentoes of our time bubhubbing and our ovely bubbas?
Just a thought, let me know if anyone else fancies a go!

Thank you girls.

Bessie - I love the journal idea :D

Chris has been a gem this evening. I sent him a link to a thread I made about daddies and bonding which really helped him I think... he came home and put Cobey straight in the high chair and said "Right, what's for nyum nyums" he fed Cobey (an ICE CUBE AND A HALF!!!!) and then plonked him in the bath, which is where they are now. I managed to cook dinner and it's now simmering wiating for them to be done. I'm going to treat him a bit extra special tonight ;) to let him know in his language that I appreciate what he's done today.

ALso Cobey had a beautiful lunch today - Banana and Avocado all smooshed up. He LOVED it !!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE! Didn't once make his "ew" face and ate all I gave him without whinging!! woohoo!!!

Jacqui - :hugs: I think it's a comfort to know we're all going through the same thing, yeah?

hello lovelies! im taking a deep breath as ive been bubhub deprived! i havent been on since sunday night, yesterday i worked until 5 , was supposed to finish at 3, but had to do extra things. and when i tried to come on last night, my internet wouldnt let me on, so ive been on the phone to optus this arvo, and discovered it was my filter!

omg im so exhausted! my feet are really killing, as is every part of my body. the only breaks i had, were the "feeding lina breaks" and being so not used to it, its hit me greatly.

lina hasnt been sleeping either, which doesnt help in the slightest.

a gorgeous thing that she does now, is gives huge kissess, with her mouth wide open, and she will grab my face closer to hers, with both hands, and slobber everywhere! just loving it.

HIGA just what IS a cheeseball???????? Is this some QLD thing?

ts in all honesty, i never knew what a cheese ball was either until i seen it and tasted it! its yumbodelishious! made with philli cheese with some extras, if you want the recipe, i will send it to you, it is so basic. no idea if its a qld thing either

HIGA, how was your day at work? Was Miss Lina good?

mell, work was utterly exhausting! i cant believe how much work there was to be done, even the docs wife came in as she wanted me to do some figures for her. bah! on the first day back, after being off for nearly 6mths! lina was an angel, my mum came up and took her for some walks which helped, and i did overtime yesterday and today (nice pay though)

quick question... is anyone else bubs bad about pinching? also how often are you needing to cut their nails?
nell, lina is always pinching/ squeezing lots too, and it does hurt, ive been cutting her nails weekly, but they just keep growing, so may have to do them every couple of days.
btw nell, love the pics, is he holding a torch?

seek, sorry to hear that your having a bit of a rough trot. i hope things sort out for you. i had to "train" my cris also!

hope everyones babies get back to their sleeping routine, im hanging with you all aswell.

yesterday was Cris's bday, and my darling cooked dinner last night, as i didnt get home until late. i promised him i would cook his favourite meal for his bday, but he could tell by my voice how exhausted i was. AND he washed up. gawd i love my man!

anyhoos, gotta go do some washing, will come back on later!

Cobey fell asleep on the way home and has stayed asleep. :shame: shouldn't rely on the car but.. my god.. it's a happy house

Yes - the pinching is happening here too (and necklace grabbing!

Pm'd everyone;)

Slightly annoyed with husband-of-mine and his come home from work, hug baby, pass baby back and use computer until 4am. we had a big argument yesterday as he was lying beside Cobey on the floor talking to someone on the phone while Cobey whinged as he'd rolled himself and gotten stuck somewhere... instead of just rolling him back Chris ignored him, I got up him and then that turned to me because I should've been in there watching him - even though he was right beside him.

:hugs: for you Seek. I get sort of annoyed with my DH too with some of this stuff - rach posted something about this before (how we ask "If they'd mind if we give them bub while we do such and such") I get a bit frustrated when K starts screaming when I'm preparing dinner and he's supposed to be watching her. I'll drop hints like "Pretty sure she's ready for bed" or "Maybe her teeth are hurting", but I find he's slow on the uptake - he'll just stay like a stunned mullet, until I go over and take her.

I usually end up with the sling on, a screaming baby, me jiggling up and down while trying to chop veges. Last night was making pumpkin and chicken risotto - we were going through the above scenario and I ended up getting a knife, digging it into the pumpkin and swinging the pumpkin onto the chopping board so it made a crash and seeds went everywhere - hubby piped up "Would you like me to help?"?????

Loved it! He then said - why did you start a fancy dinner at 5.30pm? Hello - um, hardly fancy dinner, and usually takes half an hour - would have done so too if I wasn't jiggling bub in sling, sticking dummy in again inbetween screams, or if he'd put her to bed when I suggested it to begin with and she didn't get overtired!

It's okay - as someone else said - this 6month time is testing - I remember Mr A's sleep getting more unsettled (if that was possible), but you start getting more rewards - more smiles, giggles etc. Hubby is starting to bond more with Miss K, but it was a hard slog seeing as he already had his "little buddy".

Tiny star compliments are great aren't they! Al actually bought me home a pressie yesterday i had been talking about the schapelle corby book and that i thought it would be very interesting and he bought it for me

Let us know what you think Amy - My MIL is into biographies and keeps lending them to me (Schapelles is next on the list). She claims that the Schapelle one is really hard to read as she keeps crying and can only get through 4 pages a night.

better go, going to my first weight watchers class tonight with my mum, sis and friend. so, last day as fat shea and bye bye baby belly :smiliedance:

Well done Shea and  goodluck.

Not much here - had a meet with some other bubhubbers today and had a ball. I always worry when going to these things about the thing that I'm always the oldest mummy - but they were great.

Not that I think I'm old, just wonder if they want me crashing their party - LOL

Well gals, didn't need that bottle of wine after all!! Hubby came home around 5.50, took bubba off my hands for 1/2 while I had a long shower, he also cooked dinner and poured me one glass of wine :hugs:. Faith was fantastic last night (finally) she slept from 8.30 till 6.15am this morning!! so I feel like a new woman!!!!!!:smiliedance: Sorry it wasn't all natural though we did give her some bongella and panadol before putting her down, she has all the signs of teething, just nothing thru yet.

Now to catch up with what everyone else has been up to!!

Yes we have pinching going on in our house, but I think its more of her just trying to get a tight grip..her nails grow really fast so we have to try and cut them weekly otherwise she ends up cutting herself and drawing blood on us too!!

Seek - great to see that chris has seen some light!! Little do they know that helping out is like foreplay!! It makes such a difference to us! I wouldn't worry about gettting Cobes to sleep in the car, I'd try anything at this stage!!

Pegs - thanks for all the developement notes, dh and I went through them last night as Faith still isn't rolling from front to back, but can situp alone. They are a great help!!

HIGA - welcome back!! Big :hugs: to Cris for being such a wonderful hubby!! Hope you get a good nights sleep soon xx

Shea - BOL with the Weight Watchers, alot of my friends have found great success with it.

Tiny - Yay for your dh too!! what a nice surprise

My hugs and kisses go out to all the other sleep deprived mummies and their unsettled little ones, let's hope this rocky road takes a turn for the better soon xx

We have begun rolling at night again! This is the second night in a row where i have had to get up to roll him back over. However, i have discovered that if i put him right up against the site of the cot he has enough room to roll over without hitting his head and will possible fall asleep on his tummy!

Wieght watchers was good last night, and i have kicked off my new diet starting with a walk this morning. Feel really good for it too!

Faithsmum - how great is it when they sleep thru and they haven't in a while! Best feeling ever!

Kai does those sorta kisses too but he usually ends up biting my chin  He's started making the kiss sound aswell in the last few days..

He was holding the little candle torch Zac got from Carols by Candlelight, it's really cool and Kai absolutely loves it.

Nikki - glad Chris is doin better and hope Cobey settles for you again soon.

Shea - goon on ya with the weight watchers hun :)

Kai had his 6mnth needles yesterday and the nurse told me he is the first baby in all her years of doing immunisations that has smiled at her after getting the needles :yelclap: .. Not sure if the needles are the reason but he slept from 8:30pm - 7:30am last night..
Also while I was at the doctors I asked about getting some panadeine forte for my back now that Kai is mostly on the bottle now. SO he gave me a script and had a read through the letter the neurosurgeon sent back to him.. Apparently the waiting list was only about 5mnths.. If I remember correctly Kai was about 1.5mnths when I went to see him so the 5mnths should be up soon... fingers crossed I get a call from the hospital with a date for surgery.

Well, I should be hanging out the washing while L sleeps and PS is on TV, but you guys have distracted me once again.

HIGA - hope you've recovered from work, good to see ya again and I think your hubby might be winning the hubby of the week at the moment. Most of the rest of us are complaining about ours....

Yes- pinching here too - is it a July thing? I don't remember Hamish doing it.

By the way Pegs - my hubby says the same kinds of stuff when I cook anything slightly less than mundane!

YYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGH Major "memememememe ventventwhinge" post.

Chris also admits that he doesn't have the daddy-attachment that he thought he would. And I explained what i hope is the right thing.. which is not to expect it until he starts recognising him and giving hugs and getting happy at the sound of his car.

I just had to get that all out.. thanks for reading.

Seek - following this and your latest post, I think it''s great to encourage some one-on-one time with Chris and Cobey. I read a great book which said we should all leave our hubbies with our babies by themself at least once a weeka nd don't make it easy for them. It wasn't saying this to be nasty, just to encourage mums to let go and give hubby a chance. This means go out, without instructions and see how they cope. They generally will and they may feel tired but better because of it. The bath stuff is great for bonding too. He'll get there in the end. The poor guy is probably feeling quite a lot of guilt from feeling this way.

On our end, Lachlan is still hell at nights but that's old news. Last night Craig actually managed to get him back to sleep att eh 7.30ish wake-up, but low and behold that only put off the problem. Instead of having his really awake period between then and 10pm, he wok at 9 for a feed and wouldn't go to sleep till 11. Needless to say - still NOT HAPPY JAN!!!

Also, he doesn't seem to be going well on solids at all and I'm wondering if I should just stop and try again in a while. He's six months next week but whenver I feed him, hardly anything goes in. He just wants to play with the spoon. So, remembering a trick I used with Hamish, I give him a spoon and I use another one but it still doesn't really work. What do you guys think? Shoud I try again in another couple of weeks???

Anyway washing beckons.

Mich - thanks for the PM. I only sent the letter to you and Kaz so you can use other bub hubbers if you wihs. By the way, where is Kaz? A few of us have been quiet this week. Also, would pm back but only have time for one msg right now.

Pegs - same to you, would PM - but it's easier to let you know on here that all's good for the meet. Me and my little men will be there. Can't wait to meet everyone.

I have a major headache (too much screaming and not enough sleep herd!) so I'm going to be quick - excuse any weirdness. lol

Re pinching - Ben doesn't pinch, but I feel for you mamas! He punches and pulls at the breast, and then when the nipple is coming out because he's doing that, he bites - well he did, until he got teeth. I nipped that in the bud quite quickly - pardon the pun!

Seek - :hugs: men just don't get it. Although S was like that at first, Chris needs to know that the less time he spends with Cobes, the longer it will take to get to that point of recognition. I think your idea of having him do bath time and dinner time and all that is great. It will probably be a quick turn around too, since Cobey is at a good age for it!

I don't know if he would be up for it, but when going on outings would he sit in back with him and make that "guy time"? That's what we do. Now Ben looks for his daddy and gets quite emotional in the afternoons until we get into the car to go pick him up!

Now, if S could work on the husband bit, he'd be a good all-rounder! lol

It seems we're all dealing with the same dramas with our bubs. Here's hoping it gets better soon. I know I for one need some rest!

I went to bed exhausted (with S poking at me cuz he didn't get I was THAT tired) and woke up to yells at midnight. Sat out on the lounge for some stupid reason (normally feed in bed at night) and next thing I know it's 2am and I'd fallen sound asleep all crooked on the lounge. *sigh* Hence the headache.

Pegasus - I'm a big hint dropper too, but S is too dense (by his own admission) to get hints, so now I just flat out ask/tell. I swear the worse I treat him the better things are. I actually hate it. I'm not his mother, I shouldn't have to scold him like one. :shame:

Seek again - heck if that's what it takes sometimes you just gotta get in the car! I was tempted last night and was wondering where I could go to waste time until I had to pick up S!

Well that's my mom on the phone from the US, so I'd best be off!

ps. Two things - one I forgot to mention that yesterday, for the first time EVER, Ben took a bath all by himself! We've progressed from sponge baths, to showers with mum, to baths with mum or dad, to sitting in his bath seat alone in the tub cleaning him from outside of it. I'm so glad. heh

And second bit - Just got this from S in IM:
i want to make a big effort getting the house tidied up. i know i'm not doing enough. maybe that will help if you feel like you live somewhere nicer
Bless him, I don't know what changed but he's been SO different since the weekend, and we never actually had "the Talk" either!

I moved the computer/sewing desk out into the living area to try and cut down her whinging when I leave the room if I'm trying to get work done... managed to get the desk apart and back together and all set up, along with a shower while she was asleep.... then Nan & Pop arrived to do my lawns just as she was waking, bless them, so I got a little tidy up done too!!!

She's just gone down again so hopefully I can get a coffee in, something to eat and a little me time before she's up again!

On a down note I just want to have a tiny vent... whilst I don't have a DH to whinge about I make up for it in my mum..... ooooh sometimes I wish it was her I didn't know not my dad.... I know that sounds terrible, but we just clash so incredibly.... and as much as I search for love, attention and a little validation from her, i'm just never gonna get it no matter how much i give out! I'm sooooo over being here!! But was a breath of fresh air to see Nan and Pop today! I really need to clear my debts so I can start afresh!

Enough sooking.... sorry about the me me me post... needed to get it out... will be back later to attempt some personals and a little dry humour!

Hello lovely ladies

I'm on here a bit early today as hubby decided to "work" from home as he's now gone out to pick up DSD and left me here. Good news, while he was here this morning, I got the floors washed and vaccuumed and bathrooms cleaned, so when I put the two to bed (Yes - at the same time!!!) the most pressing thing I had to do was prepare some veges for dinner. (Doing a roast as it's pretty good - once in oven - nothing to do - as not sure when hubby will be home (at least 3hour round trip to get DSD). Potatos etc peeled and ready to go in oven so bubhub time.:yelclap:

Myz - lovely photos again - Kai's so photogenic! (last one's my favourite)

Kaz - this is the place to vent (as you've seen from my posts). I've told hubby if I didn't have the hub to vent on, then he and others would cop it more. As for mothers - I had a very tumultous relationship with my mother from about 13 till about 30? It's actually pretty good now - we have days when she really grates on me (particularly when she asks me - why don't you just let her cry or whatever with regards to the kids). Anytime I answer a cry, I'm making a rod for my back.

I left home at 18 as my dad came up to me (boxing day I remember it well) and said - the way things are, I have to ask one of you to leave and I'm not asking your mother to. It was a good kick up the backside for me, but I remember saying to dad that I love my mum (for how I know she does what she does because she cares and has great intentions, but I didn't like her.)

These days it's much better but probably because I've matured to realising some of the reasons why she is how she is, and I've become more tolerant (maybe). Anyway, vent all you want, but if you can persevere, hopefully it will improve so she can have a better relationship with both you and Piper. If it does get too hard, then the only option might be to get out of the are for a bit to remove Piper from the tension.

Cya all for now - prob back on later for my normal chat

Thanks Pegs... thankfully it moved past the point of tension years ago.... it's more apathy now.... she just doesn't give a hoot about me... never has, never will, and silly me still gets upset about it.... there is a very long line of VERY VERY just reasons as to why I should resent, hate, etc her but I don't.... I'm just over feeling as though I'm worthless in her eyes IYKWIM....

I moved out at 16, best thing I ever did... couldn't even imagine what things would be like if I hadn't!

Mmmm a roast.... lucky duck... must get myself organised food wise... plan is to write out a fortnightly meal planner so I only buy exactly what i need and actually start cooking again!

HIGA - I'm in the middle of tossing up bout job stuff too... though its not a def offer as yet... would only be 2 days a week, and would mean I could make my plan of moving happen quicker so I think I will do it.... but cut back to 2 uni subjects!

Pop - :smiliedance: for hubbys realisation!! its a rarity for blokes to actually 'get it' all on their own....

Dang it bubs awake... :hugs: to everyone else!

Helloooo ladies!

Mys - great piccys, what a clever little man!

Shea - good on you for starting off your day on a positive note.. I've been talking about getting off my butt and going for a walk in the morns since dd was about 7 wks.. I went for one the other night and that been it!! :shame: Must make mental note to improve and turn my thoughts into actions!!

Rach - they do say in the books that I have read that if bubba isn't really interested in the food, hold off for a couple of days and try again. What are you feeding him? I must admit I do need to hold dd's hands down when I am trying to feed her, otherwise she trys to grab the spoon and food goes everywhere except in her mouth!!

Pop - hope you get that call soon!! BTW what will you do with bubs while you are in hospital and recovering??

HIGA- congrats on the job offer, goes to show that you are a valuable employee. I was just saying to dh that I would like to do 2 days or nights a week work come Feb.. he is not keen, but I think it would be great for me to get out and if its night work he can take care of bub if not MIL can during the day for 2 days, the money would certainly come in handy.. I used to be the main breadwinner, so I am really noticing the cutback to one wage!! The only thing is that I don't have 3 children, only one, so your decision is a much harder one to make. I'm guessing you won't have to pay for childcare, a family member or friend can take care of the little ones for you?? otherwise it may not be worth it btt you pay childcare. BTW how was the meet in the park today.. I thought it was going to rain so went to MIL's (for her bubba fix) instead.. turned out it didn't rain!!:banghead:

Kaz - I'm sure you will make the right decision for you and bub.. you are such a hard worker, I praise you! You really are a top and very talented mumma always got your little gal's best interests at heart.

Anyways best go and get dinner organised, hope to be back later.. Love to all!!

My poor little Nix, is not well. He has been in bed since about 6.30pm but about half an hour ago, he started crying and just as i walked in, he :barf: everywhere. He was on his back and and it was just like a fountain out of his mouth. That is the 2nd time he has chucked this afternoon.

Last night was crazy. He hadn't had any solids for about a week as he wasn't interested, so we gave it a break. Last night he had some vegies and within an hour, all hell broke loose. Screamed for about 2 hours, i took him for a drive to mum and dads, and that didn't even help. He finally passed out on my way home about 8pm and then woke up every hour through out the night. He would go straight back to sleep but just needed comfort.

What sort of test can the docs do to find out if they are allergic to something. The reason i ask is, when i tried ages ago, to give him a bottle of formula, where ever the milk touch his skin, it would go bright red, like inflamed. It has happened a few times now so it isn't just a one thing. I also tried once to make his far ex up on formula, and the same thing happened, where ever it touched his skin, it went red.

I am really starting to think that he has some sort of problem with food. So we are not going to give him anything until i find out what the doc says. We have an appointment tomorrow night.

I am off, going to try and get some sleep tonight

Hi girls!!

Mell - big :hugs: to you & Nix, i hope the doc can give you some answers. it does sound like he's allergic to someting though.

Kaz - i wish i could come & give you huge :hugs: you're such a great person & an excellent mum. hang in there, it will all be better when you've moved here near me!!!

also huge :hugs: to everyone else that needs them.

well, went to the docs yesterday. i have bactereia in my tummy, which i have to get antibiotics for but they couldn't tell me why i've had it since Angel was born :banghead: i knew it was gonna be a waste of time going to the docs, they have never been able to tell me why i have tiredness all the time, no energy and now this. i'm gonna get em to refer me to the hosp where i had Angel so i can see the doc there, at least they have my file from her birth.

she had her needles, no crying at all & she smiled at the nurse when she weighed her!!! she's such a brave girl, which is good cause she's getting her ears pierced on Fri. Ady says to me ' you know whe's gonna cry' & i said 'yes, i know that but i'll give her lots of cuddles'. i don't know what his prob is i'm the one that takes her for all the bad stuff like needles and that, he wouldn't know what she does!!!

well, that's it for now, will be back later xxoo

hi girls
Mell - I hope it goes well at the docs, poor Nix :hugs:

Peg - I was 19 when I left home for uni, shacked up with my man and then my parents emigrated! Not a chance of going home lol, which put a huge strain on our relationship... we lasted though

I don't get this whole get rid of the kids at 18 thing. I'm so not going to do that to my kids. Lol they will probably try and escape mummy's clutches.

Well, I gotta get Flying, yesterday I didn't achieve much and I'm trying to declutter. I have my physio today, I feel things are going well - I had separation of the muscles in my tummy and now they are nearly knitted back together... my doc told me I would probably need surgery so I am really chuffed. If any of you get this with a subsequent bubby please remember to see a physio! I'm also doing back strengthening exercise and that's helping too.

Gotta go, hugs to you all, can't wait to meet the Perth mummies on the 18th! x

Mell - hope Nix is doing better today and that you can get some answers from the Dr {{hugs}}

Kel - hope you can get some answers soon hun.. As for the tiredness etc, are your iron levels ok? I've had low iron half my life and that is a major cause of tiredness.. also hope your gunna share a pic of Angel with her new ear rings??

Bessie - Good stuff about your tummy muscles!! What kinda excersises are you doing for your back? I'm interested in anything that might make my back feel better lol..

Kai has discovered a new trick.. He's worked out if he rubs his feet up and down the foot rest on his high chair it makes funny squeaky noises so now I have to try shove his food in his mouth in between hysterical bouts of giggling.. I threatened to put socks on him this morning and he just laughed at me and did it again LOL..

anywho best go save Zac from him lol.. He keeps 'helping' Zac play lol
scuse my ferral carpet *blush* we're getting new stuff put down soon..

Myz - thankyou, i was tested a few years ago for iron & also while preg. i was told that my iron is ok, but i don't know if i should just start taking iron tabs anyway?

Kaz - hope your puter gets fixed soon

OMG :crying: i took Angel to get her ears done today. she has fallen off the couch, off her moon chair onto tiles, had needles 3 times, i've jammed her leg into her high chair & never has she cried like she did today. she sobbed her little heart out & i am keeping myself from crying only just. i have never felt so bad before. i knew it would hurt her but i didn't think she would sob that much. but they do look great, she looks beautiful & i'm gonna be pedantic about cleaning them so :fingerscrossed: they don't get infected. i also keep telling myself that even though they really hurt now, she will have forgotten about it by tomorrow & if she was a bit older she would try to pull them out, at least now she just tries to rub them & she can't figure out how to rub the bottom of her ear yet, just the top.

anyway, hope you're all having a good day. lots of love to you all, xxoo

Oh Miss Kaz :hugs: for all your worries!

And Kel! You too!! :hugs:!!

Higa - Good luck thinking about the job offer, I have a work ramble to go through (process for the 4th time...)

Basically this year I'm required to work 31.5 hours a week... I've decided (the boss doesn't know this yet HAHAHA) that I'll work 4 days a week for 7 hours... and one day I'll work a mere 3.5 hours!! Leaving me 4.5 days working and 2.5 days with my little one. I was considering working every day for 6 and a half hours... but then I thought... bugger it, I'll do a half day and that'll be more value than an extra 30 minutes at the end of each day :) I'm pretty happy with that.. I'll see how I go.. 2 weeks before I start.

Cobey is officially on the move! He's not crawling, just the army crawling stuff (he sorta armies, then wriggles his legs, then gets on all 4s... then armies.. LOL) basically the crawling in his cot is now being done on the floor and my goodness he's quick!!!

It's SO hot today!! blech.

hi, thks for the hugs girls. i feel like **** at the moment. i've got a headache & feel sick, i don't know if it's the hot weather or cause i feel like **** from hurting Angel (her ears) :crying:

i need some help, Angel's been feeling really hot today, she was hot before her ears got done but i just thought it was the hot weather. she hasn't been very sweaty, which is unusual for her just really hot. i gave her a cool bath (which she didn't like) & some panadol, should i be doing anything else

Hi ladies,

Well i had the worst day ever, both boys were crying at the same time. I was attending to one then had to run to the other and heard a big bang. My little Tommy fell off my bed and knocked my glass of water all over himself. I feel so terrible now. Poor little guy just cried and cried and his brother then cried in sympathy. I feel like a terrible Mum.

Both my boys love their bath but Tommy would not have it today. He arched his back and carried on. Neither of them would have their veges either and to top things off when I bathed them the water leaked all over the bathroom floor. Feel really bad about Tommy and somehow I think he is upset with my.

Can't say I blame him.

I feel really like a bad Mum.

Anyway sorry to be on a downer.

Talk soon.

Hope everyone else is good.

Love
Jayney

aww poor angel. did you use numbing cream at all? did they do one ear at a time, or both at once?

when i had the older 2 done, i requested the numbing cream, and for both ears to be done in one go. keep using the solution, she should be good tomorrow. i know it was like that with my girls. i will be getting linas ears pierced next week YAY!

Well i had the worst day ever, both boys were crying at the same time. I was attending to one then had to run to the other and heard a big bang. My little Tommy fell off my bed and knocked my glass of water all over himself.

aww jayney poor tommy. its terrible when they fall off the bed. brianna did this also, when she was about 4mths old and i felt like the pits also. i even took her to the drs, and demanded an xray. hope all is well now with the boys. and im hoping that you come to the meet next week.

mell i hope poor little nix is ok. if he is allergic to things, maybe try an allergist? my SIL did this with my neice.

nikki, yay for cobes. lina is still lazy.

lina had her shots today, she cried when the first needle came out. and then bellowed for the 2nd. poor darling, she weighed in at 7.8kgs and measuring 73cm. wow i cant believe how long she is. dr was very happy with her stats!

and today her 2nd tooth came through! yay although she is a bit grumpy now, cris is putting her to sleep.

re: the work situation. im thinking of doing it, as i will have a little bit of me and my brain time. its only 10hrs pw, but i dont want anymore than that, i will have lina close by, so i will still be able to feed her, all i need to do is negotiate what they are going to pay me, definitely way more than i was getting before, considering the admin jobs i will be doing.
so i will have a meeting with the big boss and his wife to discuss this. as i see it, they want me back, so they should pay well! :D :D

anyhoos, off to catch up with some washing

I'm putting the multi-quote to work here tonight girls! lol

Kaz - I'm sorry about your computer. Hope things are better at home for you. I am dealing with the no sleeping bubba too!

Re mother issues - I don't know anyone who hasn't had it out with their mums at some point or another - me included! I was older than most of you - 23 and I stopped talking to her for 9 months. I told her that I didn't NEED her in my life, making me miserable. I wanted her in my life, but not unless she respected my boundaries. (there's a therapy word for ya! lol)

She's been great since then, except for when I decided to come to Australia - she was in total denial and refused to accept it, or talk about it. She's okay with it now that she's met S - now she wants us to move back just for the grandson.

I was just saying to dh that I would like to do 2 days or nights a week work come Feb..

Am contemplating the same once I'm able to. I think it will help me mentally and if I can make enough to pay for Ben's childcare, and at least half of the rent, it will help. I'm hoping the time I've been off of work won't be held against me though. It's been over two years now!

My poor little Nix, is not well.
Aww Mell - :hugs: to you - hope you get some sleep and things are better with Nix tomorrow.

well, went to the docs yesterday. i have bactereia in my tummy, which i have to get antibiotics for but they couldn't tell me why i've had it since Angel was born

Hi ladies,

Well i had the worst day ever,
I feel really like a bad Mum.

Aww Janey :hugs: you aren't a bad mum. Hope your day tomorrow is better.

Seek - OMG MOVING COBEY! I'm actually not looking forward to that part.

We are babyproofing the lounge this weekend though, minus the gate to block off the doorways. He's been consistently rolling/scooting himself towards the old record player cabinet, and kicking at the mesh doors. So that gets moved, and the room gets rearranged! I don't want to pen HIM in, so I'm putting a "fence" up around the perimeter, since we can't actually get rid of a lot of the stuff. Can't wait to move and have a nice, neat, child safe place!

On that note - I got a lot done today in the house, spent ample time with my bubba, got to "play" online with my journal and the Hub and even went nappy shopping! (for shame, I have to stop or S is going to say something - and it takes a lot for him to get to that point!)

Okay off to finish up a bit so I can be in bed at a reasonable hour today again. I felt great this morning after getting enough sleep!

Well, took Nix to the docs this afternoon, and all she said about the food is it it trial and error :banghead: That isn't what i wanted to hear. I am going to make an appointment to go and see the CHN at Pine Rivers, i used to go there with Bodhi and they were great, so i will go and have a chat with them before i give him any more food.

HIGA, good luck with the job.

Jayney, don't feel bad, it happens to everyone. Nix hasn't fallen off anything yet, but i am sure it will happen soon. You are doing a great job. Hope you can make it next week.

Kel, i hope you feel better soon, and i hope Angel isn't getting sick. Just keep an eye on her temp, hopefully the panadol will keep it down.

Anyway, i am off to catch up on some sleep, i am so very tired.
Chat to you all tomorrow.

Hi Gals

Sorry to hear about the problems some of you have been experiencing - Mell, Kell, Kaz, and Jayney I really hope that things improve for you soon. :hugs:

Just a short post, I am really pee'd off with myself and dh!! He supposedly gave up smoking when bubba was born, but lately I have been smelling it on him and he has just brushed it off saying that its just from hanging around the blokes at work who smoke.. but tonight when he walked in he still had a packet in his pocket!! I absolutely flipped it.. starting yelling etc.. I just really couldn't control my anger 1) for the lieing and 2)cause he is still smoking. I am still fuming from the dishonesty thing, cause I have asked him calmly on many occassion, but he has point blank denyed it.. when he has been sneaking a few daily for sometime now!@!!!

I am really upset with myself because I was yelling in front of bub and I called in a f***wit father ( I don't even normally say the f word..I was just so angry it came out) So now we aren't talking and I understand why he is now upset with me also.. I feel like ****!! Half of me wants to apologise, but the other half of me is too angry to and then he will also think that the pressure is off him?? I feel like a bad mum for losing control like that in front of my daughter (although she was laughing while I raised my voice, darling thing)I sometimes wonder if I am fit to be a mum when I can carry on like that over something that in the sceme of life is probably so trivial!! But it has really hurt that he has lied to me, and we have had issues over this before, which I really felt secure that we were over with.

Sorry to vent on here by I really feel like ****. I think I will go to bed and sleep on it.. although we aren't meant to do that either!! Not meant to go to bed on an argument.. think it might happen tonight, I am exhausted and still too angry to discuss it rationally.

Sorry to all those who have real big problems and sick bubbas xxx :gloomy:

Hey gals

HAs to be a quickie cos Lach and Ham have had no sleeps together today and now Lach is awake for his usual couple of hours in the evening jaunt. We've just come back from our 8 oçlock walk which is becoming an evening routine! I've decided if I'm not gonna get anything else done - writing, reading, quality time iwth hubby - I may as well lose weight.

anyway :hugs: to Kel and Kaz and all those others who need them, but especially Jayney - you are SOOOOOOOOO not a bad mum. Hamish rolled Lachlan off my bed once! And I was right there to let it happen! :shame: Also, I know a woman who's baby has fallen off the change table three times - now that's child abuse! One time can be called a mistake!!!

Well, I've gotta go feed my possum...

Hi all

Bit brief tonight as early morning tomorrow - getting car serviced (leaving it there) then catching the train to Northam (100km east of Perth and where I lived and worked for many a year). It's one of those days where I can't afford to be late as I'll miss getting our tickets and the train. We have DSD at the moment and it can be harder to get her moving than me and the two littlies - LOL

Jayney - :hugs: :hugs: for you and your two bubbas. Wow - two movers! It must be doubly difficult for you to get yourself organised - so hats off to you - nothing but admiration for you here.

Faithsmum - I feel for you about the smoking - okay it sounds trivial, but my hubby gave up when I was pregnant with Mr A and supposedly hasn't since - it was such a huge step and occasionally I ask him about it, but it was major at the time.

Kel's Angel - hugs for you for your feelings for Angel - I'm sure you're right and by tomorrow she won't remember a thing, but I hate how their cries affect us so much.

HIGA - good luck on the job front - I have a contract that begins on Jan 22, for 15 hours a week (I don't feel ready, but was at work from 11weeks with A ). Luckily it's averaged hours, so I'll only have about 6hours contact time with students and the rest of the hours are supposed to be for planning tutorials and marking assignments. Uni doesn't start till February, so I have a bit of a reprieve.

Perth girls - looking forward to our meet on the 18th. I've invited Tulip along too  if you're lurking Tulip. At the moment it looks like rach, Myz, bessie and me. We can compare our separation of tummy muscles and physio programs bessie:p

I simply must go and get some sleep - so my relpies will all have to wait until tomorrow as I still have another four pages to catch up on!!

but

yes - would love to Bessie, great idea - haven't looked at the thread yet (see opening statement) but will do tomorrow

Pegs - q'n for you

Jakey likes to stand up and I mean full on, always has, I think that I have mentioned it to you before. Trouble is he almost seems locked in the knees ie doesn't like to bend his legs

He can bend them without pain or discomfort etc but just chooses not to

Should I be worried about this IYO

Half of me wants to apologise, but the other half of me is too angry to and then he will also think that the pressure is off him??

just quickly before I

First of all :hugs: for you

and just as an idea for you

You can apologize for losing it but make the point that you stand by what you were saying

I can give you an example coz it just so happens that exactly the same thing happened to DH and I day before yesterday and like you I swore and was 'most liberal' in my communication style!!

Long story = point is

when I saw DH briefly yesterday I said "you may of noticed that I haven't apologized for our argument and my outburst - this is because I believe I have every right to feel as angry as I did, but the way I spoke to you is not right and for that I am sorry" etc etc

hope this helps

Must go people are trying to sleep in the room I am tapping away in

good luck and

Jayney - Don't think you're a bad mum! Most of us have done something like that and I'm sure Tommy forgives you :)
(It's good to see you more regularly btw)

Jacqui - I'd be cranky too. Chris quit cold turkey when Cobey was born... he HAD quit when I got pregnant but started again which really made me cranky.
I'm a bit of a bad fighter and I'd say things to Chris like "No, it's fine, you can keep smoking.. but remember you have to go outside of the hospital when you're visiting him while he's being treated for lung cancer." :shame: I'm glad in that I haven't smelt smoke on him at all and he's a horrible liar.

Jessie - Our boys are one and the same with Standing. I know when Cobey's in a cranky all I have to do is get him to stand and he's happy again. He's VERY strong on his legs and loves his jolly jumper and anything that lets him stand. I think he'll be an early cruiser.

Thank you so much Aimz, Seek, Jesse and Pegs for your all support, its comforting to know that I am not the only one who is dealing or who has dealt with this issue. Jesse, I think I will definately take that approach tonight when we discuss it again xx

I really am just over it and being disappointed all the time, like Chris, Seek he tried to give up during the pregnancy etc but failed and then promised that once Faith came home that would be it,promise, promise, promise!! And because she has a hole in her heart etc I really thought that would be enough motivation to do it this time.

Anyway enough about my problems!!

Faith has gotten back into her sleeping routine, she went down at 8pm last night and is still alseep now (715am) so that has really helped. :fingerscrossed: this is keep up.

Seek and Jesse - Yay to your little ones on their development, they seem to be cruising along in leaps and bounds!!

Pegs - hope you have fun in Northam, dh's uncle owns a B&B there, apparently its a lovely little spot. We are hoping to make a trip over to Perth later this year to visit all of his family over there so maybe I can catch up then with all the Perth ladies :smiliedance:

Kel - hope that little Angel is feeling better today

Mell - good luck with the CHN. Maybe you could take Nix to one of those centres where they test for all types of allergies (wheat, lactose, etc) Or you could go to a Natropath and get them to send a hair sample away, which can detect all types of allergies also. Just an  .

Anyway going to go and have some breakky b4 my little princess wakes. to all!

 ladies, thks for all the hugs once again!!!

Faithsmum - huge :hugs: to you, i hope you can sort it out soon. but i'm with Jessies, it's not that trivial. my dad smoked for alot of years & has been diagnosed recently with emphysema, he has given up & occassionally has one. stand by what you believe & what you said. lying is a big thing.

Jayney - huge :hugs: to you also. i think it's happened to all of us now. if you read one of my lasts posts, youd see what's happened to Angel over her short life. it's just one fo those things that happens, i'm sure Tommy's ok today!!

Mell - don't you hate it when they try to brush you off? i'd go to the CHN too.

well, Angel's better today. no hotness on her body & she's not as unsettled. i've still got my stupid headache though :banghead: i hate em.

anyway, lots of love to all, have a good day xxoo

morning all.

jac, good on you for saying what you did (things like this need to be said) but i'd definitely agree along the lines with jess. :hugs:

kell, glad that angels feeling better this morning.

jess woohoo master jakey, it seems like all the boys are raring to go, cobes, jakey and kai, and jayneys boys. my gal is lazy.

we had a good night last night, managed to catch up with all my housework, so didnt get to bed till almost midnight. but i cant stand my house being so messy, and it looked very messy. im just doing the last load of washing, and its done, oh and the brekky dishes.

well cris went off in a huff this morning. he cant remember where he put the bank book, and totally blew me up for it  no idea what he has done with it, i didnt see it last night whilst cleaning. he then rang me earlier on his way to work, only to tell me that he found it in his car. argh no idea why he was like that this morning, as its very unusual.

anyhoos, linas ready for a feed talk later

Perth girls - looking forward to our meet on the 18th. I've invited Tulip along too. At the moment it looks like rach, Myz, bessie and me. We can compare our separation of tummy muscles and physio programs bessie

We'll definately be there! Cant wait :smiliedance: and Bessie that'd be great if you can do that photocopy. Thanks.

jess woohoo master jakey, it seems like all the boys are raring to go, cobes, jakey and kai, and jayneys boys. my gal is lazy.

I think it's because males have no patience  Kai still loves standing too, he'd be on his feet all day if he could. He's actually really good at lifting himself onto his feet when he's holding onto my hands.. DF keeps joking that he's just gunna get up and walk so I had to explain the benefits of crawling.

Jayney - Dont say your a bad mummy :hugs: It happens to the best of us hun. Kai rolled off my bed the other night and I ended up in tears coz I should've known better etc etc.. And it must be twice as hard for you to keep your eye on both of them every second of the day.. Your doing a fantastic job hun.

Jac- Hope you get thing sorted out hun.. You have every right to be angry. I agree with the example 'apology' that Jess posted though.. Dont beat your self up for losing your temper, it doesnt mean your a bad mum.

cant think what else I wanted to write :banghead: Must mean I need another coffee..

Feel like im a bad mum and that i mustn't be doing something i should be with him. i give him heaps of tummy time but he is constantly throwing up. i know he'll get there in his own time, but he just seems a fair bit behinde...

shea, lina can only roll from tum to back, she can only sit up for a few seconds, i also give plenty of tum tim, but she doesnt like it. each baby develops things in their own sweet time. i learnt this the hard way also as brianna was slow at everything. your not a bad mum, chin up, he will ge there in his own little time:hugs:

Shae, don't feel bad, baby's develop all differently. Nix is only rolling from his back to tummy, he can roll the other way but he doesn't, and he isn't anywhere near crawling either (thank god). Don't feel bad, you are not a bad mum and there is nothing you can do to make him do these things, he will when he is ready. :hugs: Don't stress

Shae - don't worry, connor will get there when he wants too. Angel was nearly 6mths before she rolled over AT ALL!!! but i think she might crawl soon, so the longer he waits the sooner he'll prob crawl :p

well, i think angel has chicken pox or something. she's got spots on her face & arms. i thought they were bites, but more are coming up throughout today. she's also been a little whingy today :gloomy: the poor little poppet. we're giong to the docs tomorrow just in case, but what do they do for them at this age

lots of love to all :hugs:

:gloomy: Think my poor bubba is teething... she has been grizzly all day, keeps biting on her fingers, runny nose and has poo pooed about 1000 nappies!! Poor little mite. They only way I could get her to smile was to dance with her to my Rob Thomas DVD.. she must have her mums taste!!!

Good news though in her frustration she rolled from front to back!! Scared herself too. I have been giving her bongella and panadol.. is that all I can do to help her?? I feel so helpless when she is in so much pain.

Shae - Faith is only just started sitting up and could only roll onto her tum tum until today. She is not really interested in standing up and only really stays in her jolly jumper for about 10mins and then wants to get out!! Every babe develops at their own rate, its nothing to worry about at all.

Jayney - hope you can make it on the 18th if you have lost my address just sing out.

Kel - hope it is just a heat rash or something and not the pox. Not sure what they do, I have never had them myself. On a positive if she does have they they do say that it is better for them to get them as a baby rather than when they are older.. less tramatic!:hugs:

HIGA - Cant wait to taste that cheeseball!!!:D

Talk to you soon, dh will be home soon so I have to prepare myself for our chat!!

Hey gals

Quickie cos I'm sneaking time!!:shame:

Shea - just wanted to say you are so not a bad mum. Every babe is different. Hamish hated tummy time, didn't crawl until 11months (but was walking around furniture way before then) and didn't actually walk by himself until 13 1/2 months. In total contrast ?Lachlan is already putting himself ina crawling possie and rocking back and forth.

Just a short post, I am really pee'd off with myself and dh!! He supposedly gave up smoking when bubba was born, but lately I have been smelling it on him

:

FAithsmum - think we must have posted at the same time yesterday as I would've so replied to this. When I met DH he was a smoker. two weeks later he asked me if it bothered him, I said, ýes, I'd never marry or have anything serious with anyone who smoked. He was crushed and tried to give up. Went down to one a day for ages then finally went cold turkey. I know he occassionally lapses too and it annoys the hell out of me, cos I figure he knew where I stood on the issue from way back. So, don't worry about loosing your temper, we all do it some times. Even perfect ppl like me - yeah righ!!!

Perth girls - looking forward to our meet on the 18th. I've invited Tulip along too  if you're lurking Tulip. At the moment it looks like rach, Myz, bessie and me. We can compare our separation of tummy muscles and physio programs bessie:p

Yay - I remember tulip from way back! What happened to her? If you're lurking say Hi!

Usual sleep probs from my end and nothing more to report. Although did I tell you all I won a whole load of books on another website I frequent!! So excited and checking the post everyday for when they arrive.

Howdy strangers, funny it's been maybe 2 days since I posted, I checked in yesterday lunchtime but it seems like ages since I wrote a post.

Kel Hows Angel? Hope she is ok after the ear piercing. I saw the CUTEST earings for Estella (even contemplated getting myself a pair) but resisted the temptation, came home and read your post, sounds like drama I dont need, glad I trusted my instincts on that call.

Yay for the books Rach, I get into a bit of a lather about those sorts of deliveries too. I never get time to read anymore, just at my parents place so I am going through dad's Patsy Adam Smith Collection at the moment. (Classic Aussie writer)

Shea can you please PM me your number!!!!! Or if anyone else has it can they please PM it to me, I want you to come to the Sydney Meet luvvy. It wont be the same without you!

Well then Mr P - the reason I am actually on this thread ha ha what is he up to? Well. He is sitting up nice and straight, he gives me a big smile when I get home from work (highlight of my day, and Estellas cuddles) and he cries if he cant see anyone. He is trying very hard to get mobile but just looks like frog in the blender. And I think he is starting to become attached to his stuffed Zebra.

Well now I better go and check up what the rest of the world is doing ttfn:wave:

Kel, god i hope Angel is alright, let us know how you go at the doc's today. :hugs:

Faithsmum, i hope she starts to feel better soon.

Well last night we had eggs and i had the smallest bit of yolk on my finger, so i let Nix try it, he loved it, but within a minute from the nose down to just under his chin was big red hives  which lasted for about 45mins, so he does have some sort of allergy. I was reading the allergy section here and there is another mum who has a son who is now 3, but she was saying that when he was about 4 -5 mths old he was diagnosed with Milk Protein Intolerance and egg intolerance and the symptoms she was explaining, is exactly Nix to a tea. I have booked him in to get an allergy test on the 22nd Jan, so we will finally find out what is going on. So i just have to try and cut dairy out of my diet until we find out what is going on.

hi girls, i hope everyone is good today.

Mell - :fingerscrossed: you're able to find out what is wrong with Nix & that it is a food allergy.

TinyStar - hehe even though Angel cried alot, she was fine by yesterday :)

well, my poor little Angel has chicken pox. she has spots all over her head, some on her arms & a couple on her legs :gloomy: the doc said there's not much we can do, but we bought some gel stuff so it doesn't itch too much when they come out in scabs. i haven't had chicken pox, but ady has. my ex boyfriend got them when we were together & i never got them off him & we saw each other all the time so :fingerscrossed: i'm one of the ones that doesn't get em for some reason!!!

anyway, i'm off to clean out under the house, lots of love to all xxoo

Hello:wave:

Been reading along, but quiet. Not in the mood to write much iykwim.

Mell, hoping Nix allergies are figured out asap. Does Bodhi have any allergies?

Kel, Poor darling Angel. That must have been why she was hot the other day. I hope she has a mild dose of them.

Oh dear.... brain fart...

Shea, I know it's easier said than done, but don't worry about Connor's development. He is rolling etc just chosing his time for each step. I found that L seemed to be doing nothing and then all of a sudden she'd figured out 2 or 3 things. Then it's like she takes time to master those before moving on.

Jayney, you're definately not a bad mummy. Like others have said, I don't know how you do it with 2!!

Faithsmum, DH and I had similar issues with his smoking when we first got engaged. The broken trust was hard to heal, but do-able. Hope it's all worked out for you.

Can't remember any more.... so HI!!! to everyone.

Mini vent.... DH and I went on a date yesterday. (Left L with a good friend of ours) on our way back home he said he didn't understand how I couldn't get time to do everything each day. Grrr...... it's called a baby........

Exciting news.... we think L's said her first word. 'Boo' It sounds quite clear and she often says it when she's playing peek-a-boo with us!! It sounded like she said 'Mum' the other day (my step-MIL heard it) but she hasn't done it since:rolleyes:

Well I'd best away. DH has the day off and want to spend some more time with him before another busy week.

RE: Earrings, my little tacker won't be getting her ears peirced, not til she's in primary school or something. The risk of infection is very high for her, poor thing is as sensitive as I am.

Not much from me really. Just wanted to come in and say a big HI

Ethan is crawling, Shaiyan is a bit uninterested which is fine with me....gonna be twice as busy once they are both mobile. :crying:

Mell - hope you get some answers about Nix.. are you just getting the tests done at the gp or do you have to go somewhere special? just curious coz Kai came out in red blotches again yesterday arvo..

Mich - my DS1's father used to say things like that all the time :banghead: He'd often comment that he'd love to change places with me.. funny how the first day he had to look after DS1 (he was about 16mnths old) while I went to tafe he rang me half an hour after I left home to ask where the nappies were... umm hello, in the nappy stacker  then proceeded to ring me on each break to ask when I'd be home..

Rach - if I was getting free books I'd be checkin the mail too lol.. I'm currently reading stephen kings new one.. it's odd to say the least.

umm cant think of the other personals..

Had two restless nights with Kai, I think his teeth might finally be on the move.. I know rubbing their ears (or just behind the ear) is a tired sign but is it also a teething sign? I vaguely remember someone saying their teeth hurting can also give them earaches or something.. dunno..

Little ratbag is into everything!!!! He's exhausting me lol.. I have to get DF to move the vcr and everything up a shelf higher when he gets home.
My best friend was over with her DD (Krystal) yesterday.. there's only 4weeks between her and Kai but she was 8wks prem (I think I showed you all a pic of her when she first got out of hospital) she's gotten so much bigger but he's still twice the size of her

[COLOR="DarkOrchid"]well, my poor little Angel has chicken pox. she has spots all over her head, some on her arms & a couple on her legs /COLOR]

aww poor angel. there isnt much that can be done for the pox, im suprised that she caught it so early though, was she near anyone who had the pox? at 18mths the babies are now given Varicella (pox vacc) but not 100% effective. the govt subsidised it a couple of yrs ago, so its on the schedule. before i had to pay $55. use some calomine lotion kell, will ease the itchiness for her, and cool the area down. hope she gets better soon

love the piccis, nell.

great pic also lollie, you certainly will have your hands full when this lil bubba arrives.

im hot and tired and sunburnt! we had my cousins kids over today, cooked some snags on the bbq, then we all swam, the kids all had a ball, cept afterwards when we came inside, the kids were all spinning round in the lounge room, and the eldest (8) tripped over natty and broke his tooth on the tiles   poor thing. so his father had to come and pick them up and get him to a dentist, before closing, poor lil man

lina drank a whole bottle of water today  first time shes done that. i cant find the sippy cup anywhere, so prolly going to have to buy a new one. also went and got briannas school books, there goes $95. and they didnt have a few things on the list, so i have to wait until they come in. i cant believe school starts in 2weeks. sheesh these hols have gone far to fast.

anyhoos, time to organise dinner, and im off to bed early tonight, need to be at the airport by 630am, as my nephew arrives YAY!

Shea - Don't feel bad and you're not a bad mummy! Pfft. :hugs: Connor's not delayed, late or anything! Every bub is different and the truth is, they can't read the textbooks to know what they should be doing!

Kel - :( Poor Angel.. I was looking forward to seeing you Thursday being the last day for a while I can make it! We'll have to arrange that BBQ at Mell's soon eh?

And Mell - You poor Nix!!! Good thing you have that appointment and so soon!!! The poor little bubbie. (although thanks for the tip on just giving him a little bit of yolk first up, I'll be serving myself poached eggs for breakfast tomorrow now!)

Maria - We went to the local pool today so not as sunburnt! I thought about going to your place ("HI MARIA COMING FOR SWIM) but it was sooo hot we went to oxley which has shade sails everywhere, maybe we could all go there on hot weekend, your girls would have a blast with the squirtie thingies and slippery dips!

Can't remember what else I was saying, Cobey wanted a feed so I left hahha.

Thanks for the support with the developement thingy. I can see that he despartely wants to get moving but he waves his legs in the air instead of pushing them into the ground! He is also starting to sit but sometimes i feel like i am pushing him (OMG already! not even six months old and he has pressure!)

ordered his cake and helium tank for his naming day. Once again mum was going on about how much we are spending on it (mind you it is only a couple of $100). but i think it is just because she never did anything like that for us so she doesn't see the point.

Glad Angels ears are better Kel, sorry bout the Chickenpox, hope she doesn't get too miserable.

Ok a quick attempt at personals from me.... bubba is being stubborn and is alternating from playing on the floor at my feet and sitting on my lap trying to destroy anything in sight on my desk....

Shea - as everyone else has said each and every bubba grows and develops at their own pace.... relax, go with the flow and enjoy your lil man and all the new things you are both discovering! Have Pm'ed you!

Kel - big big hugs to you and Angel... poor little gal with the pox....

Mell - glad to hear you've got Nix in to see an allergist/immunologist or whatever (lol).... definitely sounds like typical allergy symptoms to me, and shame on that CHN for not taking you seriously....

HIGA - you go girl on the work front... def sounds doable.... and as you said in a strange way it is a little bit of 'you' time...

Myz - it's scary to think they'll be getting their lil paws into everything in no time... my cheeky lil mite, I popped out the front room to grab a recipe for dinner last night, left her in her rocker chair..... when i got back into the living room she wasn't in it... lil bugger had slid out and was wiggling across the floor towards the laundry basket!!

Seek- glad to hear Cobes loved his first swim... such a cute lil boy...

Mich - know what you mean about the mood.. :hugs: and yay Luci on her speech! Pip is a regular lil chatterbox sometimes then others she is quiet as a mouse...

Jac - Hope your DH pull's his head in... lol.... i hate arguments but i hate even more being the one that has to cave!

Mmmmmm can't remember anything else and Pip is demanding I talk to her.... lol....

Less than a week til our meet gals.... soooooo excited! Hoping the puter is well and truly fixed now... couldn't stand another compulsory BH break!

I was so lucky to get in so quickly as well, when i rung them up she said there is a few weeks wait, and when she looked on the computer, she said there was a spot next Monday :smiliedance: He will get the test done and we will get the results at the same appointment, she said it usually takes about an hour, and if he needs more testing, we will have to come back. Love the photos

Kel, i can't believe Angel has the chicken pox  and i hope you don't get it. Hope this heat isn't making it more uncomfortable for her.

Seek, great photos, Cobey looks like he is having a ball. Good idea about giving the egg yolk ago, let us know how he goes with it.

Kaz, glad you got your computer all fixed and up and running again. How are things going with the business, your store always looks great, i love checking it out. And how did things go with that guy from RSVP?

Business is getting there slowly....

Didn't end up replying or anything to the RSVP thing... realised its really not my scene.... now I just have to figure out how to meet someone genuinely nice, that wants what I want, without having to go pubbing, etc!!

Hi all - I'll see what I can remember for personals, but it gets a bit tricky sometimes - theres so many of us who are chatty!!

Myz - love the piccies with your friend's DD - your sig in your avatar says it all

Shea - re development - so many times I've said to someone - it's okay - development happens in their own time, so long as it's happens. Didn't stop me getting rather anxious when A didn't crawl till 10months then walk at 16months - I was sure he was never going to do either, and admit I stayed away from playgroup a bit as I hated hearing about how other's children were doing so much. (He runs and skips now - LOL). The best we can do as parents is give our children the opportunities to practice their skills so they can keep developmenting.

My MIL is convinced that K is going to crawl within the next month and walk before 12months. I'm not so convinced, while she loves to stand (see piccies), her crawling just isn't happening. When on her tummy she looks around, and thinks about reaching for some toys, but decides it's easier to roll over, once over I've got buckleys getting her back on her belly for long.

standing (http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r157/pegasus007/jan%2007/IM000287.jpg)
standing at A's piano (http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r157/pegasus007/jan%2007/IM000286.jpg)

standing dance (http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r157/pegasus007/jan%2007/IM000291.jpg)
still want to dance, but too tired to stand (http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r157/pegasus007/jan%2007/IM000289.jpg)

Which brings me to Jess - yep - K loves to stand but not so much sitting too. (See above). Pretty sure A wasn't like this (maybe MIL is right  ). It's fine for them to practice this standing (maybe even with a jolly jumper, or one of those standing toy frames) but for short periods. These encourage proprioception (joint sense) which is great for sending signals back to the brain about body image etc to encourage use of the limb and movements.

As for sitting - thats really important at this stage (more than standing) as it helps with good hip proprioception as well and therefore stability. Try varying sitting posture (ie. long leg, cross leg and side sitting). Place activities on either side. Discourage "W-sitting" as this stretches the ligaments which support the hips (less proprioception). Try propping bub with a pillow or rolled up towel behind/ around them (I use a tri pillow to wedge around K's hips as she either wants to lie on her back or if I'm helping support her she wants to stand). Using this idea, if K is supported by something rather than me, she doesn't try to stand and will tolerate it a bit before she decides to lie down. Basically, you try to extend the time in each posture (eg. one minute one day, then increase to two minutes by the end of the week).

Hope that helps

Looking forward to our meet on Thursday!!!

sorry - after writing that, I've forgotten all other personals.

Will check back again tomorrow and post what I've forgotten - Just rememebered, sorry to hear about Angel's chicken pox - good luck to Kel and Angel and to Mell on getting Nix' allergies sorted.

Night all xx

PS Just found out Jessie wants to say hello, but she's too lazy (hehe) so I'm doing it for her - send her love - we love you too Mother Duck!!

morning ladies. im on early as i thought i would stick my head in before going to the airport to get my nephew, i wouldve been gone by now, but my sis txted me to say plane left a bit later, so not hurrying too much.

yay Lina is 6mths old today :D:D:D i cant believe how fast its gone. and yesterday she was sitting up all by herself. this lasted for about 45secs, then she toppled on to the bed, the girls could not stop laffing. so she started also. as of last night, she could hold her balance for a few minutes, which i think is great.

 lil bugger had slid out and was wiggling across the floor towards the laundry basket!!

OH MY! cheeky lil gal miss pip! i wouldve prolly had a few fits myself! hope your puter is fixed kaz.

. i cant believe school starts in 2weeks. sheesh these hols have gone far to fast.

 2 weeks?!?! Better get Zac's books etc organised this week then.. Wow that's just snuck up on me way too quickly... I dont even have his booklist yet so might ring the school a bit later..

my cheeky lil mite, I popped out the front room to grab a recipe for dinner last night, left her in her rocker chair..... when i got back into the living room she wasn't in it... lil bugger had slid out and was wiggling across the floor towards the laundry basket!!

 Lil Lady on a mission! Kai has to be strapped in when in his rocker coz since he started rolling he tries to nose dive out of it or wiggle and slide down til he's out.. These kids are cluey I tell ya lol.

Nikki - Love the pics! Cobey looked like he had a ball.

Mell - thanks for the info, might try ring around and see what available in perth..

Pegs - Gorgeous pics :) K is sooooo cute!! love the last two, she looks so happy.. also what do you mean by 'W-sitting'.. sorry if thats a silly question :o

ummmm

Hi Jess you lazy thing you..

Kai slept a bit better last night but I think thats coz he was in bed with me from about 1:30am onwards.. DF went fishing and DS1 is at grandma's so we had the bed to ourselves lol..

not really much to report from our end of things..
Cant wait for the meet!!

Might go make breakfast..

ooh yeah.. Nikki I love your avatar :)

Kel - Looks like chicken pox from the photo's.. As to how long it should take to blister etc, I suppose that varies from when she actually caught the virus.. I'm not 100% sure about that though.. neither of my boys have had them and I was too young to remember my experience with them.. Hope she's better soon though hun.

Pegs - great piccy's.... Pip was standing holding onto the lounge in the study the other day and was sooo proud of herself... cracks me up the look of accomplishment they get on their face when they manage to do something new...

HIGA & Kel - have PM'ed you.

Kel - definitely looks like the pox.... as Nel said can take differing amounts of time to scab... I think the pox has roughly a ten day incubation period before spots appear.... then lasts around 2 weeks from memory.... being a bub and being sweaty and sticky and dribbly like they are they may take longer to scab as the spots would be moister than usual... if that makes sense....

Yay on Lina's 6 mths... half way to her 1st bday...

Myz - I too was wondering what 'w-sitting' is.... :o

We had a much better night last night.... she went down at 11.30 and only woke at 3 and 6.... so I'm feeling considerably more human... hopefully she keeps it up!

Just remembered something I meant to post last night - Myz - love the photo of Zac and his fish - he looks soooo proud!!!

Kel - my mum said with chicken pox a good way to know is if it comes out worse on chest and back in a warm bath. Also it's whole body. Reminds me a bit of K when she's had bites, but they stay localised. Any pharmacist should recognise if it is pox (if you can't get into a doc) and something that wouldn't harm is applying solugel (a Johnson and Johnson wound dressing gel). They now advise to keep the sores moist and solugel does this - it soothes and assists in the healing process of the sore. I use solugel on cuts and burns as well. My sister (the pharmacist is the one who told me it's good for chicken pox sores and I used it on both my DSD and DSS when they had them)

W-sitting ...Basically when you're sitting on your bum with your knees in front, but your feet beside your bum. (right on right side and left on left - as opposed to side sitting)

Finally - if Lina's 6months today, K must be too:party:

Well we have had a really nice day. This morning we decided to go up the coast for the day. So we went to Underwater World and had lunch on the wharf at Moolooaba. Bodhi had such a great day, it is so much fun doing these things with kids, just to watch their excitement. Nix had a great time as well, looking around at all the different colours.

Here is a couple of photos from today.

Hi ladies,

Is it too late to join? I have only just discovered the addictive joy of the bub hub forum and have spent much of today fascinated with all the reading...

My first DD has turned 6 months last week. She's a really easy going and happy baby, but stubborn as all hell sometimes... She's been a bit on and off with her sleep, but her second tooth just broke through, so maybe that's it.

Nix sits and has just started crawling, but I think that's because she's such a big baby. She started normally (3.5kg) but I thinks she's about 9kg now! I have a health nurse visit this week, so I'm praying she's still on the charts. If you're not worrying about one area, there's always another!

Love the new Avatar Nikki!

I think I have 2 teething children:confused: Yesterday we went to my parents to swim in the pool and they both whinged for much of the day. (at least the pool provided a welcome distraction)

I think Estella is getting her Canines and Patrick's teeth are just moving around, but the pair of them were unsettled, wont sleep, biting everything, refusing food. Very frustrating for everyone I think.

I have so much to do today, I feel worried for no reason......:gloomy:

I wish I'd found these forums earlier... I'll call DD Nixie to avoid confusion! After bad night saturday, she selpt to 6:30 this morning. She started 'sleeping through' (dropped the 2/3am feed) at 4 weeks, that I got such a shock when she started night waking around 4 months. To make it worse, I sleep like the dead, so my DH kept getting up at the first sound and putting the dummy in... Bad habits!

If you don't mind you're bubs bashing on the keyboards, try www.kneebouncers.com (http://www.kneebouncers.com) - it's a website with cartoon games that work when you hit any key. My DD loves the piano and train games.

I'm meant to work from home today, but I can just see these forums are going to be a big temptation! :shame:

I think a few of our bubs did the same thing.. I know my little man did. He was sleeping through from the word go then all of a sudden he decided to start waking upto 3x per night..

DF had a few too many drinks last night and decided he wanted to play with Kai at 2am :banghead: Needless to say when I was woken up to a bright eyed, bouncing 6mnth old I was not happy and DF heard all about it.. Bet the first thing out of his mouth will be a big apology when he wakes up..

I had a similar programme called Keyboard Pounder when DS1 was little, every key he bashed a fish would pop up on the screen or butterfllies (if I remember correctly) and it'd make cool music etc, he loved it..

And yes this thread is a temptation lol it's so hard to resist checking to see if someones posted,.. especially with the amount we all talk

Kai had his first peice of toast n vegemite yesterday morning (and is presently in his highchair next to me chomping on another piece) and he loves it!! He also had some mango for lunch and didnt come out in red blotches so I'm stoked with that..

DS1 is watching Happy Feet and I havent seen it yet so I keep getting sidetracked and now I've forgotten what else I was going to post *blush*

I think it's obvious we're all really shy.;) But serously - this bunch of July mummies seem to be so genuine and lovely that I'm sure none of us will end up feeling like we have nothing to say - we all seem to find enough to talk to each other about each day anyway!

Seekrit - love the avatar

Nix06 - welcome, we have Nix the boy and Nixxie the girl now:smiliedance:

My little one slept beautifully last night, but I've been up and down the last 4nights. It's funny, it may just be coincidental, you wouldn't think it should affect her, but my stepdaughter was staying. Happened last time too. Would have had a lovely night's sleep last night (as I wasn't on here till all hours and got to bed before midnight), but Mr A got up at one and didnt' want to settle back down.

Forgot to tell you all last week, I've had a lot of people comment that K is small - so I got her measured - she's 6.12kg and 64cm. So I guess, she is small, but in proportion for her size.

How big is everyone else' bubs now at 6months?

The worst sleeper of the class of July 2006 may just be a step closer to graduating!!!! Last night we tried something different... instead of bathing Lachlan with Hamish at 6ish, then breastfeeding him and putting him to bed, when he was tired at 6ish, we just put him down. He did his usual wake at 7ish, so I fed him then, then we went for a walk, then he had a shower with DH, then we read books and put him straight to bed. He wiggled and squirmed in the cot, so I resorted to wrapping him again. Within minutes he was asleep. I was quite shocked - he didn't wake up until 2.30am. of course I was on edge just waiting ALL THE TIME for him to wake. He then went down again quite easily and woke up at 7.30am! I'm not holding my breath but I could get used to this.

Nel - don't stress about being quiet! I used to be shy but seemto have lost it since having kids - you probably won't be able to shut me up.

By the way Wlecome Nix

Anyway was going to write more personals but Lachlan's just woken up from a very short morning nap. Oh well, can't have it all.

Really hope you Perth mummies enjoy meeting on Thurs. I'm excited for you and because I get to see some of you on Fri.

TS, hope your stars are feeling better soon and that you're able to stop feeling worried.

Ah, where do I start?? Feeling really light headed atm... like I'm tipsy (I wish:laughing:)

We've been taking L swimming and she loves it! I tired to book her in for swimming lessons and they're book out, so will have to look around.

MIL is staying atm so my time is limited.

Oh, something I've found really interesting.
L has stopped self settling since she can roll over. (I think I've mentioned this before)
We've been trying lots of new things, including sleeping on her back. CC is an option that I haven't used yet and rocking her to sleep doesn't work because she wriggles too much!

Today I was trying to rock her and fighting her wiggles...when I thought blow this, I'll wrap her!
AND....it worked, I wrapped her, rocked her till she was almost asleep, put her in her cot and she crashed!! I'm in shock... she HATED being wrapped as a newborn.....

I've rambled... and had no interruptions to save you, lol!

Will talk later xxx

Mr P has been wrapped since birth, I've tried a few times to put him to sleep unwrapped but he just looks at me like "what the?"
So now he is wrapped in his top sheet cos he wriggles out of his muslin wraps.

Wraps - I use a Lalita one from Target - I got one for Aiden and for a bub that hated being wrapped as a small bub - he loved it. I've tried other stuff with K, but if she's really unsettled, then this works like magic. It says it can be used up to 10months or a year. Wow, you're not wrong! Blink and you can miss a day of addictive chat...

Pegasus, most babies in my mothers group are smaller so don't worry. They are doing new charts because the old ones are based on formula fed babies which are generally bigger. I have the opposite problem. I'm pretty sure my health nurse visit is going to reveal Nixie is around 9kg at 6 months. My friends' DD just turned 1 and she weighs 9.5kg! Disturbing.

BTW, where are you all from? Am I the only Melbournite? I get quite nostalgic when you talk of the Perth meet up as I'm from WA originally. I was born in Perth but grew up in Albany. I moved to Perth for only a year before coming to Melbourne about 8 years ago. Some of my best friends are still in Perth and had little bubs of their own, that I haven't even seen yet. I feel I've missed sharing that time with them.

Mmascore/Rach - great idea about the big muslin. Nixie was a stubborn opponent to wrapping in the early days, but now when nothing else works I wrap her. But it has been so hot for wrapping lately and the muslins I've got won't stay around my budha baby  .

Has anyone else had problems with their bubs rolling? When she's only half wrapped and she's not sleepy or when she wakes up, she rolls over and crawls out of her covers, then gets upset. I've tried pulling the sheet over tight and putting towels down the side to hold her, but it only works sometimes. Plus she keeps rolling over and trying to crawl of the change table when I'm changing her :banghead: . Very hard when it's a pooey nappy! Any advice on how to make her lay still?

Can't wait for the meetup on Thurs :smiliedance: If its not too much trouble can you pls just PM me if you are a definite. Thx so much!! Also if you need directions.

Nix06 - I'm one of the Brissy Gals, I think you are the only Melbournite on this forum.. hopefully we can meet up sometime, my best friend lives in Melbourne.

HIGA - I will try and get Faith weighed this week but I am guessing that she is also at least 7.5kg.. she's a chubba bubba! Her little cousin is 10 mths and Faith towers over her.. very embarassing!!

Rach & Mama - well done with the wrapping and getting the little ones off now they are rolling etc! Hope it continues for you. I am dreading the time when Faith catches onto this rolling around the cot business.. any day now me thinks!!

Will have to checkout those keyboard games too, thanks for the info.

Gotta go, my dh (2nd child) is calling!!

talk soon xx

Hey gals

Better not type to soon - but I'm in shock! Second day in a row (wrapped, I add) and Lachlan has gone to sleep in his cot and now hasbeen in there for an hour and forty minutes. Did he suddenly find the baby sleep manual I left lying in his cot???

Not complaining anyway... it's about time I got me back. Won't bore ya with all the details about what I'm doing but if anyone's interested for their own needs, pm me.

Mich - a friend of mine got the book you sent for her little girl today. Thanks. She's stoked. However her little boy was sad as he's just two and mummy didn't send letters for him.

They are doing new charts because the old ones are based on formula fed babies which are generally bigger.

BTW, where are you all from? Am I the only Melbournite? I get quite nostalgic when you talk of the Perth meet up as I'm from WA originally. I was born in Perth but grew up in Albany.

The WHO has actually already done those charts - they're available online at www.who.int I'm putting them in my book, if my agent ever finds me a publisher day is.:fingerscrossed:

Anyway I'm off to Perth tomorrow, and may not have access to the Internet, so will speak to you lovelies when I go back. Can't wait to meet some of ya!!!

By the way, I peeled a banana this arvo and Lachlan grabbed it from me and stuffed it in his gob... I ended up grabbing it back, but gave him a chunk to play with/devour. It was messy but he loved it!!! Things are all FINALLY clicking into place. Can you tell from the tone of my post  I'm already a lot happier.

By the way, where is Jess - she hasn't been on for a while. Jess if you're reading QUACK!!!

Rach, have you written a book? That's impressive! Is it about babies? Good luck finding a publisher.

I gave Nixie a plate of fruit fingers today and it was hilarious. She made such faces when she or I first put them in her mouth, even though she'd had some of the fruit before in mashed form.

She had toast fingers in the morning while DH was watching her. When I came back I thought she had done well and eaten most of it. When I took her out of the highchair though, I found most of it squashed under her bum...:D

 party for Rach. Better go and touch some wood. Will check out those charts! Thanks for that.

Nix - I know what you mean about being nostalgic for other places - when I was in Darwin I felt the same way about Perth, but now I'm here, I feel a bit nostalgic about the mums and bubs I met in Darwin as our bubs shared their first year together.

So far the only thing Miss K has eaten is rice cereal and banana. I've got her to down a half a banana!! Rice cereal, she seems to think is pretty cool, but prefers with breast milk, I'm just too lazy to express to mix, so she gets it with cooled boiled water. (Not really too lazy, I just find the best time to express is when I'm feeding on the other side and I figure the milk is too precious for mixing with cereal, better to save for when I go to work.

I finally found some photos of me at 6months and I have to say - I do look a fair bit like my little K. Mum said I did. I have a very limited number of photos - I'm the youngest of three and my photo album goes from 0 to 18, before I took over my memories. Will have to see if I can get someone to scan it and see what you think. It's really lovely as I've been photographed in the same bassinet that K is in now. Mental note - organise move to cot - oh no, there's another sign she's growing up too fast.

As for Jessie, the last two nights I've been on here, she's pm'd me to tell me she's here, but done it just as I've logged off as I haven't seen them till the next day.

Jessie if you're lurking - come out, you said I could come and harass you if you went MIA ...

LMAO Estella STILL does this and she is 19 months. I always check now under her chair and around her legs before I declare meal times finished.

Glad to hear you are feeling better Rach, have fun in Perth. Of course we want to know what you are up to (and what you are reading:D )

cheers

Nix06, i am from Brissie aswell, and i think you are the only one from Melbourne. You will have to come up here for a holiday so we can all meet you :D

Rach, that is great news, and yes i can yell you are so much happier. Well done Lachlan.:smiliedance:

Well we had a pretty crappy night last night. Nix went down about 7.30pm then woke up at 12.00, then at 3.00 then at 5am when sean just bought him into our bed. I think he was getting cold, it was very hot when we went to bed but it got cold during the early morning. Bodhi also woke up from a 'scary dream' so he spent about an hour in our bed, so i get all of 30cm of bed to try and sleep on.
Bodhi has kindy today so i will try and grab some sleep today.

Better go and get things organised.
Be back later.

I'm going to have to curb my addiction to these forums. :shame: I could have been working or relaxing yesterday evening, instead I couldn't stop looking at these forums. I think I'm going to just pick a few groups/topics and stick to them! There is a Melbourne meet this month, so I'm going to meets some locals then. I would love to come up to brissy! Just need to win lotto first...

Nixie slept OK last night, only started stirring around 6:30pm, but I felt so frustrated with her last night. She wouldn't eat her solids :banghead: and it was making me angry. I was saying to her 'stop mucking around' and had to remind myself that she's not doing it on purpose. She looks at me so knowing sometimes, that I think she's 'aware' of it all. Oh well, given her size, I don't need to be concerned about her missing a meal!

Have a good day everyone.

Hi all!!!

I know I've been sooo quiet lately!!! Been popping in every few days, but spend so much time catching up on everyone's posts, I don't get time to reply!

Bianca is 'swimming' all around the place now, and keeps getting into everything she souldn't. She was sitting unsupported a couple of weeks ago, but not all she wants to do is pull/slide/roll around, and doesn't want to sit still!!! I'm worn out from chasing her out of all the corners in the lounge room!!!

Love all the piccies, and  to Nix06.

Nikki, loved Cobey's face while standing in the wading pool - so serious & concentrated!!!

I have been wondering about wrapping Bianca. I have done so since she was born & she has always loved/needed it. She doesn't get wrapped at night now, as she goes to sleep herself in her cot, but during the day, we rock her to sleep while wrapped. I have been told, though that you shouldn't wrap bubs past 4 months, as they need to be able to move around...??? Bianca is perfectly able to get her arms out of her muslin wrap (which I've been told is the coolest), and can go back to sleep sometimes even with them out, but normally, she only wants one hand out, to hold her dummy in her mouth!!!

:hugs: & for all sick/teething bubs... the last three nights, Bianca has been waking up every ½-1hr from 12pm onwards (right when I want to be sleeping!). I think it may be her teeth, as she's also quite grizzly, gave her panadol and bonjella, then cuddles before popping her back to bed. :fingerscrossed: She is better tonight!!!

Unfortunalty, I won't be able to come to the Brissie meet, as I'm working in the morning, then Bianca's getting her needles in the afternoon, thank god it's the last lot for the next six months!!! We BOTH hate it!!!

Bianca still seems to be refluxing, I have an appointment with a doc tomorrow, and have been researching milk protein intollerance, as tablets don't seem to be making much differance... only formula which is available for use is only on dr prescription, aparrently soy formula is also often intollerated (???is that a word???)

If anyone knows details of this, I would appreciate some ideas, as she is still only having about 60-90ml bottles... grrrr with the heat, I'm quite worried as she also won't drink water!!!

Happy chatting you chatterboxes!!!

:banghead:
I'm tired and stressed. Cobey has one of his top teeth coming through (I can see the white.. just needs to cut) and so he's done nothing but sookie because he's in so much pain...

I'm soo tired. I don't have enough milk pumped for returning to work and I'm hoping hoping that Higa finds her electric pump for me to borrow so I can just slap it on for all feeds until I start. That whole thing is really stressing me out actually :(
Worst case scenerio.. Cobey's going to have to have some formula until I can get a pump working (my hand pump is too slow and doesn't work all the time) Which isn't that bad.. but yeah.

*sigh*
Sorry I'm all full of sooky myself, I think I'm a bit hormonal so *sigh*
the constant whinge isn't helping.

I may not be able to make it all day on Thursday, I'm in demand as I'm going back to work and I have some other friends who want to see me that day too.. we're trying to work out another day but if we can't I'll have to put myself in two places at once :p

Hope you can get it sorted hun.... not sure I can help but I know both my sis and I were lactose intolerent... or at least thats what we were diagnosed, and one of us was fed soy milk and the other goats milk.... but that was in the days before formula... :hugs:

Yeah, poor lil bub still gets cranky after bottle feeding, but she LOVES her solids!!! For dinner, I give her meat, but can't be bothered after working to make it myself (:shame: ). So I give her tins... she eats 1½-2 tins (favourite is the Heinz chicken, noodles & vegies), also 150ml vegies for lunch, and a decent amount of fruit for brekky, and with the other two meals. The last couple of nights, I've fed her at 10ish (still mostly sleeping) and she's had 160-170ml, so I'm gonna keep that up, but I feel like a zombie!!!

My DH looks after her in the mornings while I'm at work, and he's too lazy to 'bother' with water :banghead:

Hi Renee,

My DD is on the S26 Lactose Free formula. I've tried to change her back to normal once, but the intolerance is still upsetting her. Is lactose intolerance the same as milk protein intolerance?

My bub had reflux too - BIG vomits apx 4 times a day, but that didn't bother her, so we didn't use the thickened formula or additions. It bothered us though, vomit on the carpet, bed, us... What a smell! We still have her mattress on an angle, even now at 6 months and go through a gazillion bibs and outfits... My friends baby had reflux and she tried the thickened formula before going onto the soy. I thought soy didn't have lactose in it though? There are some good websites if you google - I think reflux.org or reflux.org.au. Something like that.

Maybe there is a full moon or something, we all seem a bit frazzled! Hope it passes...

PS. Any tips on keeping Nixie on the change table. She keeps rolling over and trying to crawl off the edge, into the hamper! She is so strong now, sometimes I need DH to help...
