Hi, My partner want us to stop in Singapore in May for 3 days on our way to the UK, Our little one will be almost 7 months then, and the thought terrifies me, not only will we have to cope with two time zone changes but we 'll be starting solids.

i need some advice, anything!! To be fair to my patrner i said i'd do some reaserch before deciding.

I found singapore to be very good for kids you shouldnt have too much issue and the stop over might make it easier?

Singapore is the most amazing place I took DS there for his 1st birthday. It is so clean, The zoo is fantastic DS loved it. Definitely not a place to worry about taking a bub to.

Just one thing - the heat and humidity are astounding. It really is like walking around in a sauna - so be sure to pack accordingly.

You don't say how old your baby is, but if you are planning to start solids at 6 months as recommended, then tehy won't be eating too much at 7 months so don't get too worried about taht (I know I would have been too, but having done it now, it is not such a big deal). Your baby will probably only be eating a few tablespoons of basic rice cereal or fruit or vege puree then, you can get packets of rice cereal and little jars of puree that are definitely the way to go when travelling.

Singapore Airlines are a great airline for travelling with kids.

We had a 12 hour stop on the way over to Europe wiht our 8.5 month old and just stayed in the airport. No worries at all with jet lag on teh way over, had 4 days on arriving home (felt like forever!). Most people seem to find this. So I would suggest having the stopover on the way over rather than on the way back. We had about 9 hours in teh airport on teh way home, they have a transit hotel right in the airport where you can rent rooms by the hour and it was perfect for our purpose: a place for a nap and a shower etc.

We took overnight flights which worked really well too. Request a bassinette for the baby on the plane and they will get some sleep then.

Have a lovely holiday!
