Hello all you lovely fellow kiwi's

Anyone moved a houselot of stuff overseas before?

We are planning on moving back to Auckland sometime soon (hopefully when our lease runs out in August :fingerscrossed: ).
I'm having a bit of trouble finding out about sending all our stuff back over - can anyone enlighten me please?
I've contacted one freight co and they've quoted me $6000 for a 2bdrm houselot, with a 6-8 week transit time. Does this sound right?
Seems a bit steep and slow to me, but I really have no idea....

Any advice/info greatly appreciated.

Thx

Hi there Danielle....Ive not done the move from here to NZ but we shipped our stuff from NZ to Melbourne using a company that were recommended to me by a friend who has moved between NZ and Oz a number of times. She said that they were by far the best. If you want their details feel free to pm me.

I packed the tiny things into boxes and they came to my house and packed the boxes and larger items took it all and dealt with the custom documents etc. It was fantastic. I brought with me:
-Lounge suite
-Queen bed
-King single
-tall & low boy
-fridge/freezer
-washer/drier
-microwave
-television/video/dvd player
-stereo
-bikes
as well as about 30 boxes of other items (this is just what I can remember off the top of my head) They charged me $1700 for that (includes all the customs charges as well)
Delivered within 8 weeks to my door. They were fantastic. I was living in a 2 storey house they even carried all the furniture upstairs for me putting the legs and headboards on the bed etc. They also allow you to fill your drawers/washing machines etc with items as the quote goes by space taken up not weight so that reduces the number of boxes you need. Very handy!
