Hi BFG
I don' t think that this is the case for most, I've heard that the "average" time to fall pg is 6 months. For me it took 5 months each time (but I have a varied cycle).

I found the wait a bit trying - I've decided to have a baby - why aren't I pg ALREADY!

Cheers

I fell the month before I intended to start trying but I doubt I will be so lucky next time around.

21 months for me :(

(unexplained infertility, we are both 23, and all tests showed we are both fertile)

I fell pregnant first time both times. But I was coming off the pill and apparently you are most fertile in that first cycle :)

Took 5 years to fall with #1 (I had endometreosis) and #2 was not planned - fell with him when DS1 was 6 mths old while I was still B/F!! (but they say pregnancy is the cure for endo!).....................sooooo nice not to have to go through another 5years of hell for #2!

I fell pregnant the first time with both of my children. And I am acutely aware of how very lucky I was for this to happen.

And no, it's not the norm - it happens for about 3% of couples.

I haven't been on the pill for fifteen years. My husband feels ripped off as he didn't get any 'praccy' runs in!

I am the same as Deb first time every time. With numbers 2 and 3 we were not actively ttc and as any one with young kids is aware, and as you get a bit older the amount of sex you have greatly decreases, in this house anyway. So I too am very grateful.

I am in awe of people who undergo any sort of fertility treatment, I am unsure if I would be able to handle all the ups and downs that must go along with it.

it took us nearly a year after i went off the pill - tho' we weren't being too strategic about it. it wasn't until i decided to do things properly and have sex when i was ovulating that we finally fell pregnant :)

I was accidentally pregnant after 3 weeks of meeting my partner. And that was using condoms.

I fell first time, both times with my girls (lol, the story going around was he only had to point it at me and I was pregnant).

This time around, was harder.

13 months to fall with the baby that I m/c in May, and nothing yet, so I guess that's another 5 months since then.

No reason, we've been to see a specialist who did tests etc, nothing wrong with either of us, we had one round of IUI, that didn't work either.

It's all just a waiting game now, good luck for you, I hope you get the result you want (and soon).

(you get a needle and you dont get a period for 3 months and it lasts 3 months)

thanks for the good luck.... :) I'm getting nervous... I am such an impatient person i want to know now... hehe... can only wait though.

I fell on the 3rd cycle after coming off the pill. I'd been on it for 10 yrs due to Endometriosis.

That is really encouraging to know... i was put on the pill when i was 12 for many reasons and i'm now 23 and coming off... never felt better either!! i can't believe how much the pill changes my body. It is encouraging to know that others have been on for years and still manage to fall fairly early thanks heaps!

I fell pregnant well before we decided to actively try - the first month I started looking into my cycle I noticed I got 3 temperature rises which was odd, looked up on the internet what it could mean and saw that I was most likely pregnant. Finally after a truck load of confusing neg tests, 4 days after AF was due I got a second line.

I doubt I will be so lucky with number 2 though

I fell pg with my DS the same month i came off the pill! :D That was our first attempt at trying and we caught the egg. In September this year we decided to try again and i got pg again the first time trying. Unfortunately it was a chemical pg and the little bub didnt stick! :( Im still waiting to see the results of lasts months attempt because im only 6dpo still. Hopefully i am pg again and the bub sticks! :)

For me, it happened the first time we tried. I couldn't believe it!! I thought surely it would take longer - it took 3 home pregnancy tests to convince me - LOL!! :D
