perforated bowel ????

Has anyones baby had perforated bowel ???

My friends baby, born on the 21st of December, has had to have part of his bowel removed :crying: :crying: :crying:
The doctors think it may be caused by a meconium plug which perforated his bowel !!!
They will also test for Cystic Fibrosis at 6 weeks.

Has anyone heard of this???

Poor little thing. Colostomy's can be reversed so he may not need the bag for the rest of his life. Let's hope this is the case.:fingerscrossed: :hugs:

i was born with a perforated bowel which the doctors didn't pick up till i was 10 and seriously ill. Mine was near my appendix though so all my waste was filling up my appendix effectivily slowly poising me.

They just took my appendix out and sewed up the hole.

I have been fine since.
