Hey, I was wondering what were the signs of ovulation. I have read the billings method book but am still alittle confused. Is there a set number of days before your next period that ovulation occurs or can it be out by a day or two?

I totally wish my mum had told me this stuff growing up... i know what i will be doing with my daughter (When i have one)
Thanks in advance

Yes, the number of days between ovulation and your next period is ALWAYS the same, but the number of days from the end of your period leading up to ovulation can be affected by lots of things.

Good luck!

I have a Q for you Angel-Baby.

What do they mean by 'how long is your luteal phase'.

I've never heard of it so don't know what answer to put in for this one.

I'm trying to work out when I'm going to O.

My cycles are 24 days, my last AF was 14/10/05 so I'm guessing I already have but would like to know for future ttc'ing months.

The luteal phase is the phase from the day you Ovulate to your next period. The luteal phase is usually 14 days but its different with everyone. I hope that helps. They say that you can count back from your AF due 14 days and that will be the day you O. But like i said before everyones bodies is different and so there is no set time frame.

Is there any way of knowing if my Luteal Phase is not 14 days (sorry for dumb Q)

It usually is 14 days, have you ever noted when you O till the next period? That sometimes helps works out what your body is doing. At the moment my AF is all over the place and so i dont know when im due or anything. All i do is count 14 days from O and it normally lands on the 1st day of AF.

you need to either get ovulation detection kits or observe your cycle for 2+ cycles, you will get used to the signs your body gives out when you ovulate!

Just remember that your leutal phase is ALWAYS constant, takes some trial and error but you'll get it eventually!

Thats a really good idea! :D It takes a couple of months to get used to what your body is actually doing. You'd think that you would know automatically how our bodies works but its never the case!
