View Full Version : Childcare Infinity Pram & Basinette
Just thought i would let any of you who are interesting in buying this pram or the package, that they are on sale at TARGET at the moment.
Normally i have seen the package retail for about $450ish.
But today i got the package for $160
The pram was marked at $139
and the basinette at $49
however when it went through the register the basinette only scanned at $19 :smiliedance:
Im not sure how long the sale is on for, but if you are after one of these prams i recommend getting down to target ASAP. :thumbsup:

I got the black one as well, i dont think they had the red ones, but i was planning on getting black anyway.

I have a 2 door lancer and it fits in the boot just fine, but then again, the lancer's boot is alot deeper than the echo.
You might have to stand it up on its side rather than lay it down flat????

I got one about 2mths ago from toys r us as they wereon sale for $200 (pram+bassinette) reduced from $800 which i thought was a good deal.....:yes:
They only had the red which at first i thought would bug me BUT now i love the red colour!:p
Havent used it yet as bubs doesnt arrive till feb. BUT a friend of mine has one and she loves it!

Ive bought heaps of cute little red outfits so that bubs matches the pram :o
And purchased a gorgeous Black kecci Mommy nappy bag to co ordinate with the pram lol im becoming obsessed and lil miss hasnt even arrived yet!
i have a hot pink one... i paid full price for them because they had only just come out! I could speak highlyt enough of this pram! I only have a really tiny boot too and it fits in... its all in the order you do it! :laughing:
I rainchecked one:o:o wont be in for ages yet so I can get some cash together:smiliedance: didnt have the bassinet either(you never know when you will have more kids:D)but I can order one in

When i got mine my sis was so tempted to get one too (even though her and her hubby arent even ttc yet!)
Brooke- hmmm Hot pink very cute! So glad its a good pram as its kinda luck of the draw when you buy a pram!
Can you give us any tips of how to put it in the boot (havent even tried doing that yet BUT with all of Dh's tools and Sh!t in there i just know we'll have issues:yes: )

NM the pram is really easy to put together i managed to do it at 38 weeks preg cause i couldnt wait for my dh to get home... no tools required!
I find that if i put the pram in seperatley so take the chair part off and put it in first and then place the fram over the top so the middle part of the chair fits thru the middle of the frame (if that makes any sense) and then you can angle it if need be....

yep $49 but if it scans cheaper I wont be complaining:D:D my other pram(childcare discovery) I got last year for $189(save 50) and its not even half as cool!

Can i ask for those of you using it with an older bub (like older then 6mths) how is the seat? it looks kinda smallish to me.......do older bubs fit ok in it?

well i just brought one.. i had dramas though as i brought an infinity from a bubs shop first for $500 for the bassinet and pram but then a lovly friend (deevine) told me about the target special and i took the first one back and got the one from target but gosh i felt ripped off....
but gosh i love a bargin...

Hmm, how did you get the pram home from the shops?
Was it in the echo?
I have a 2 door lancer and it fits in the boot just fine, but then again, the lancer's boot is alot deeper than the echo.
I was out with my mum when I bought it and took it home in their Camry sedan, fit well in there.
We took the pram out today for the first time, the frame fits easily in the boot, but with the seat off, which is no big drama, just put it in the nack seat and it is so easy to take off and put back on.

Well, let me tell you something!! We are so excited to announce on our first test drive today with DD (16months) she loved it and actually fell asleep in it. She never sleeps unless she's in her cot or in the car seat! So this was huge for us!! We are in love, the pram handles so well, feels like your pushing nothing at all. I think the smaller seat size is nice because they feel more coccooned and comfy..well looked like it anyway. LOVE IT!!

well the shock absorbtion is great! especially the back wheels. I lifted the front up to go up and down gutters when crossing the road, maybe he could run like that??:o
The front wheels are hard plastic, do might not do as well.

I have the Beema Q which is a great jogging pram and of course the phil and teds are excellent
BUT tech. i think the only real jogging prams are ones like the Moutain buggies or the Schwin jogging three wheelers (which you can pick up from Toys r us from as little as $200)

They are such a great price. I think they are selling so cheap to make room for the new model called the 'HOLA' which has a bassinet and seat all in one.

What kind of pram is it? 3 or 4 wheels? I am looking for a 4 wheeler, I hate my 3 wheeler, it's so huge I call it the F250.
I've done a search online and it's a 4 wheeler, great! How did you know it was on special? This week's catalogue has no prams in it and I've looked online and there are no prams on special either. I know my local Target doesn't carry this pram but I might take a trip today down to Parramatta, they have a huge baby section. I want this pram :)

Theycallmemum - i didnt know they were advertising i just happend to be in target at the right time and grabbed one. And shouted out to everyone about it.
Its a 4 wheel pram, its actually quite similar to the Bugaboo prams in shape and also in the wheels, 2 smaller plastic ones at front, and 2 inflatable ones at the back.

I have the Zapp in Orange and found i got sick of the colour pretty quick!
oh and you can always get a nice funky coloured stroller pad to jazz the black one up a bit:yes:

I am from Perth and I went to Target at Stirling Central this morning and they do have them (this is the only Target i have seem them at) There were 2 there but they were $199. Is your friend from perth?

they are actually a clearance item, so they will get cheaper until all sold. I am getting the bassinet from maroochydore(sp?) for 34.97 but she said by the time it gets here it will be heaps cheaper

They are not in production any more due to a very dangerous fault with them.
They used to be called the Bertini Mio then they named it the Childcare infinity. When the Bertini Mio came out they were popular cause they were a fraction of the cost of a bugaboo, but they have some problems with this pram, people would be crossing the road and they're fronts wheels would fall off!!! this was recurring so Baby Bunting took them off the shelves and refused to stock them thats when the change of name happened to childcare infinity then they restocked them at Target and Toys r us stores but the problem is still happening infact on another baby site a woman was crossing a major intersection when her front wheel fell off!!
So the company has decided to end this line and are now have made a better alternative ( iforgot the name) .
Just wanted you to be aware. Sorry girls, don't mean to be a pooper:o But hey if like it and works good for you go for it:thumbsup: as they are really nice looking prams!

I had also read this about the Bertini Mio's - and think there was a recall out on them to be honest.
I dont think they are the same pram at all - they do have slight differences, and also Bertini & Childcare are 2 completely different brands owned by separate companies.
If this fault was still aparent they wouldnt be allowed to sell the pram

I can definately confirm that they aren't the Bertini Mio - which did have ultra problems. It is true though that a lady on Birth did have a wheel fall off - it was found that a special locking thingy was missing in the wheel post. The Childcare Infinity is actually a Hauck Infinity who are a big mob in Germany. They sell all over Europe and the Infinity is pretty big in the UK. All Childcare do is stick their name on the box over here.

I really love mine. I've even got the Euro car seat which makes it a travel system.

But I want BLACK!! So I'm now going to get it. Have not told DH as he will not understand. I'm thinking I'm just going to tell him I bought new 'covers' and see what I can get away with LOL! I don't need the bassinet so if its $199 its still a good price for me.

I rang my local store, who did a search on their computer and they had none but maroochydore had 4 so I rang maroochydore(sunshine coast) and they were going to let me buy it over the phone on my credit card and mail it to me, but it was too big so they did an inter store transfer(had to get managers permission) and I can pick it up when it gets there.:thumbsup:(to my store)
oh and figjam2 are you in australia?? cos you cannot actually use the carseats over here they do not meet our safety requirements(which is a shame as there so cute)
its illegal to use a carseat that does not meet aussie safety standards(as far as Im aware)

Nemo is correct - I don't use the Euro car seat as a car seat - I use my SafenSound capsule for that.
I am a complete utter nut for probably having everything in the set - umm I even have the black matching parasol LOL!
I originally bought the Euro car seat as we were going to UK to visit my parents and were just going to take the pram frame and use the Euro carseat as a stroller and for car trips around there. However trip did not eventuate. I still use the car seat attached to the frame when I can't be bothered attaching bassinet or stroller seat.
I'll keep the red bassinet for #3 as it will be fun to have a red bassinet and a black stroller.
...and yes I got the last boxed one at Stirling Gate. The only one left is the display model. Its currently hiding in my car and DH doesn't know yet.
.....and the Target one has a nappy bag with it - the TRU one doesn't. I have no use for it - might sell it on Ebay to allay the cost of the new pram.
I love the RockStar baby Targo - isn't it cool!

I forgot to mention that its a really good idea to get some silicon lube/grease and put it on the small wheel pole bits that go into the pram frame - does that make sense?
I had problems with my wheels sticking and took it to the pram repair place and he looked at me like 'why didn't you put grease on it?' and did it for me. Voila easily movey wheels.
I don't know if the instructions say to do this - I didn't have any - but if they don't its a good idea so that your front swivel wheels stay nice and swivelly.

I suggest ringing your local target or going in if you can and seeing if any stores have it that are willing to send it to you or inter store transfer. my store has totally sold out in under a week!!

After chatting with Nemosmum on Saturday; and discussing with hubby that realistically we probably WONT need a pram that caters for a baby AND a toddler; and we probably WONT be taking it jogging :rolleyes: I've decided I should check out this Childcare Infinity.
Today I called about a dozen stores nearby and NO ONE had it in stock. I tried Macarthur square too - but they said they had none.
Any suggestions on where I might get one? I think I'll go into my local Target tomorrow and sit down with the girl in the reception room and see what she can do; but that aside I think I've missed out :(
target can check every store on their computer to see who has them in stock but you will have to ring those stores as they may not have updated the computer or have some on layby etc. maroochydore was more than happy to send mine to me.:thumbsup:(well my target as it woulda cost me a fortune in postage)

yep, definately. they told me they dont do inter store transfers but that I could mail order it from another store and pay the other store by credit card, but when I rang the other store they said they would inter store transfer. it took 2 days I think? going to pick my bassinet up tomorrow(wooohoo only $19!) and my pram is on raincheck then layby:smiliedance:

hmm not too sure, when I got mine they still had some in 'the warehouse' (so I was told) but then they also told me when i phoned up for my bassinet that it was a clearance cos the new model was coming out soon. I hope you do get one or they let you raincheck:fingerscrossed:

I was told no rainchecks by my store as its a clearance model and they aren't getting anymore in.
Your best bet is probably to ring all the stores. In Perth they where only supposed to be at our stores which carry the Baby Target range but it turned out that quite a few of the normal stores had them.
I do have a spare black Infinity (and a used red one) but I bought it at $199 as they weren't as discounted here in Perth. Top that with postage and it won't be such a bargain for you.

Just called the customer helpline who said there are 8 prams out at Liverpool - so I called Liverpool who said they have none in stock. I guess this is becoming a wild goose chase now huh? Oh well.

I got my bassinet:smiliedance: gorgeous! I asked them to check for the pram and they are going to ring me back:rolleyes: they are so useless sometimes! can you maybe try liverpool again, the person you spokt to may have no idea, or didnt bother looking properly.

Yea I tried them again and they checked out the back too - but they had none. I'm going shopping today - going to go to a shop in Kensington that I'm yet to stalk, and my baby warehouse at Leichhardt. Nothing else to do - so may as well get on the road LOL.

I've just got home from 'My Baby Warehouse' out at Leichhardt and WOW - have THEY got a sale on...
They had the SteelCraft Bayamo (http://www.britax.com.au/Websites/Business/brproddb.nsf/LUPages/Strollers-Bayamo) - marked at $479/pram & $179/bassinette = $279 for the lot! Very cool red/orange colour and black...
But I ended up laybying the Valco Rad (http://www.valco.com.au/ProductItem.asp?pid=14&bid=36&sid=578&page=2) (in red) I'm so excited! I just want baby to be born already! LOL

The Valco Rad ended up coming to $688 - including the bassinette attachment. The pram was $519 (reduced from $589) and the bassinette was the rest - I cant remember what though LOL.
The designs are VERY similar - but I liked the Valco Rad for a couple of reasons...
1. The wheelbase of the SC Bayamo was a lot wider than the V Rad. I pushed them both around the shop and even then I noticed a huge difference.
2. The V Rad felt a bit more 'solid' than the SC Bayamo.
3. The V Rad's handle was extendable - good for when my tall hubby pushes the pram!
4. The V Rad had suspension in the wheels - but the SC Bayamo didn't.
5. The SC Bayamo folded down really well - but the V Rad was a little more compact and a little easier to do.
6. The red colour in the SC Bayamo was slightly sickening. Cool to begin with - but I think it would annoy me later on. The red V Rad was fantastic!
So even though the price difference was HUGE, I know that those things are going to be what bug me later LOL
The Valco RAD is pretty good but you're the first person I know who's bought it. According to my local store they sell it to people who like the Quinny Buzz but not its price tag :)

Figjam - I haven't heard of many people having it yet either; but I've heard very good things about Valco and trust that they wouldn't release a dodgy pram.
Emevity - I'm glad you were impressed with that ladies Valco Rad!! What colour was it? I've got the red!!!

The bassinet is optional but I think its best to get one. DS used his for about 3-4mths which although isn't a long time it was really handy.
He used to sleep in that at home when he was little and I could still walk to the shops and get milk/bread etc.

The bassinet is great, its really big and roomy.
I have my original red one but always wanted a black. So I bought a black and I'm selling the red and I figured I might as well sell another black at the same time.
Hopefully I won't lose any money on it.
I'm currently trying to prolong the amount of time I can afford to be at home with bubs (6mths old) by being a WAHM selling baby goods online.
Must remember to stop buying stuff for myself though!

Just wanted to see how you gals are liking the Infinity. I'm tossing up between this and the Hola. Not sure if you can put a toddler board on the Infinity, though? Anyone know? Am also having trouble finding out the difference between the two prams (other than the Hola is a bassinet/pram in one). Any info would be a big help. :yes:
The Hola is quite a different pram. I know its the 'replacement' but its not like a new version of the Infinity or anything like that.
I spoke to the saleslady at my local babystore about it and she didn't have much to say on it as it was quite new. She didn't seem overly impressed with it though so I would be interested to hear some real life experience of it.
I'm down to 2 Infinitys at the moment. I've sold my old red one and the spare new black one. I'm loving using my new black one - I do love the pram and the change in colour was just what I needed.
I've got the last pink one in Perth at the moment and I'm selling that on Ebay. I was at the local babystore and they hadn't been able to sell and practically begged me to take it away and sell it. Hopefully I'll have better luck than they did.
