Hi everyone,
My DD is due for her 4 yr old vaccinations, and I'm wanting to make it as painless as possible for her (which is what we all want!) but also, I don't want to have to hold her down for it, or try to bribe her, or anything like that. The reason most people are scared of needles is because every experience you ever have with them is a negative one. I'm trying to teach Vallerie that vaccinations are done for good reason, and it's better to have a little needle than to get any of those horrible diseases. (PS this is not meant to start an immunisation debate!!!)
I have found the website of EMLA which is a brand of numbing cream, or it also comes in a ready-made patch, which you put on the injection site for a few hours prior to vaccinations (obviously the longer it's left on there, the more effective it is) and essentially it's like having a local anaesthetic on the area. So I am going to buy some, for DD's vaccinations. My local chemist doesn't stock them, so next time I go into the city I will get some then.
Click here for the website (http://www.emla.com.au)
So I was wondering if anyone else had used it?
