Dark Line after Pregnancy

Hi Ladie :wave:

I gave birth almost 6 wks ago now, when I was about 25 wks preg I developed a dark line through the middle of my tummy all the way down beyond my pelvic bone.

I thought this wld disappear soon after having bubs but its still there :banghead:

I have shrunk right back down to norm size (size 8) but still have this dark line from where the top of my uterus was.

What is this & will it disappear?

It's called the linea nigra and most women get this when pregnant. I started to get mine in the first trimester and it's 95% faded now at 10 months post partum:yes: HTH

I got mine in the last 2 weeks of my pregnancy and I think that it took a few months dissapear.

Hi I had this line and it was almost black I got into a hot shower and scrubbed it off and it went!! It was like dead skin!

What? Deak Skin? I didnt think it was that, i though it was coming from the inside!!

The linea nigra isn't dead skin, it's skin pigmentation.

It will fade eventually but might take a while. For some people, it does hang around for a pretty long time.
