View Full Version : going mad
Hi I'm a mum of 2, I have a daughter 2.5 and a son 1.5
We moved to victoria a few months ago so I don't really know anyone in the area we attend a playgroup, but as it is school holidays playgroup isn't on.
My kids are bored and fustrated not to mention myself. for xmas they got paints, crayons etc many entertaining things, but they are already bored of all these things.
Anyone in a similar situation or anyone with ideas?

Hi bbsmum,
My name is Jo and I have the same problem. The only thing I could suggest is maybe a trip to the park or a play under the sprinkler. Unfortunatley my bigger kids have decided to torment my two little ones which means Im forever hearing them winge.
best of luck finding them something to do

Hi,
perhaps being so hot at the moment it might be fun for them to paint with a paint brush, the fence, shed, window etc...(outside of course) with shaving cream and then when they get sick of that maybe they could use a sponge and a bucket of water to clean it off, this is a great water play idea and keeps them amussed for hours plus not to mention cool on a hot day, or you could put some paint on a tray and let them stomp in the paint and make some pretty feet paintings on the ground and then use the hose to wash it all away. Or try making a knecklace out of food you can eat e.g grapes, sultanas etc, although that might be a bit tricky for that age.
Any way I dont know if that helps but it is just a few fun ideas that I've done with my nephew and cant wait to do with my DD.

hi bbs mum.
Where in Vic do you live?
Hi I live in The latrobe valley.
hi
i know how hard not having anything to do with really active little ones can be.
playgroup is great and i guess it will go back this week but here is acouple of my ideas for keeping my monster out of the reaches of bordem.
1 : organise for a couple of mums from playgroup to come over for morning tea .
they may have older children they have to bring but there is plenty they can do to help set up have it out side under a tree and put cordial and ice in your teapot and make little cupcakes (coles sells a cake mix for 70 cents and it tastes great little ones only like the icing anyway) and get them to decorate them .
2 : this needs your supervision but its fun ,put some water in the bath only a little ,get all you recycling out and make little boats milk cartons with straws work great, what ever there little brains can create get them to decorate them and put their names on them .then put them in the bath and see wich ones float yes they will all probally sink and fall apart but that half the fun ,my little one loves putting food colouring in the water to make it a real lake .
3: get 3 baking diches pour a little water in each put a few drops of food dye in each than add some big balls of play dough some pasta and some plastic dinosaurs or farm animals what ever youve got and let them create a wild little world right there on the lino or tile s or grass what ever is easy cleaned .
4: go to the local video shop buy 4 videos go home put the kids in front of the tv with a snack .and relax an hour and ahalf of pure bliss .
play school has some great ideas at there web site at abckids.com.au hope you enjoy the rest of your time with them iit goes so quickly .
