:( My 12mth old does used to go to sleep during the day by herself and was cradled at night time. But now she won't go to sleep by herself during the day, I have used bottle, I have rocked her, sung to her, laydown with her on my bed, left her in the cot to cry it out - nothing works. She eventually gets worked up into a crying fit and I have to hold her in a tight grip until she gives up! and then she will sleep. I hate doing that, it feels crule.

Also when I work on the weekend she wont sleep for my husband (she has always played on him and not me).

Also she used to be a really easy baby to take out she would sleep anywhere; car or pram. Now if she falls asleep in the car if I put her in the pram she wakes immediatly, and she won't sleep in the pram even if she is dog tired. So I end up with the grotty winging child (why can't they just sleep when they are tired - life would be so much easier for all!)

I feel I can't go anywhere.

What do I do???????

Hi Gemma

that sounds pretty tough.
Is she still having two sleeps during the day? At about this age they do tend to go down to one- could this be part of the problem?

Otherwise I'm not sure what else you can try- I've always had pretty good success using a sling to get Felix to sleep- maybe that could help you?

12 months is such a amazing age- they are just getting cranking on their understanding of the world, maybe starting to walk, talk, all that stuff.
Is she getting any teeth? that always makes things harder too.. especially those molars
I guess there's a lot going on in those little heads that might make it harder for them to let go and just sleep.

hoping things get better

thanks for replying. she is getting a bit heavy for the sling but ANYTHING is worth a try! :) She has been teething so who knows(on that note, has yours ever vomited for a day with teething??).

thanks again

No Felix never vomited but one of my friends boys always does, no matter what tooth, he's yakking all day and all night..... not much fun at all!!!
