Thought I might do a thread for us Christians aswell! I didn't want to hijack the other thread!!

I grew up in a Christian family, so was exposed to Christianity early on.
I did a little rebelling during my teens but nothing too serious.. I still went to church.
For me, being a Christian means that I get to have a relationship with the most loving man that ever was!!! Jesus.... the fact He sacrificed everything for ME is amazing!! We have all sinned & every sin is bad in God's eyes ( even the little white lies!!) but you know what... JEsus took it all on his back - LITERALLY for ME, so I can have eternal life with him!!
Sometimes the mere thought of that sends shivers down my spine!!

I feel honoured to be serving such an awesome God!!

Becky thanks for starting this thread :)

I am a Christian for the same reasons as you... what an awesome God we serve.

I also come from a Christian family and walked a fine line for a while as a teen but in the end i came back to God (of course he never left me) i learnt more and more about his love for me and studied his word and decided that i believed what was written, i could FEEL it.... IYKWIM.....

anyway i am still learning every day and will be until the day i die... but what a joy it is :)

I wasn't a Christian growing up, I knew very little about all that stuff, but during my uni years I realised that if the decisions I make have eternal consequences, it was really worth me investigating things until I had made up my mind. I discovered that Christianity really did make sense and I've spent the last 7 years becoming more and more glad that I gave Jesus a chance.

I didnt grow up as a Christian either - well, I believed in God and that he created the world but I didnt really "get" the whole thing. Now though, I "know" that God is real and he has helped me to understand the Bible and what it means for me.

I am a Christian simply because I cant help it...I asked God to reveal himself to me and he did and there is no denying it. I am also a Christian becuase God has helped me soooooo much.

Now might be the time to share m husbands testimony and salvation story...

Ever since we met I have believed in God but wasnt a serious Christian until later. My husband was an Athiest - pure and simple, didnt need any God or anything but himslef or his famliy. He didnt understand why all the bad things happened in the world and he believed that Science had the answers. He knew that he was a nice person and that is what counted.

It was starting to cause just a little bit of tension between us as I was becoming mroe and more involved in our church etc.

One night, he was at work (like 2am) sitting in front of his computer and he decided to look up a Christian website to try and at least understand where I was coming from. He liked the site which was written by some young guy and on it, there was a prayer for asking God to reveal himself. Although he still doubted, for some reason he decided to give the prayer ago (what could happen right??) So, he mustered up all the sincerity he had (which would have ben about the size of a mustard seed lol) and prayed the prayer.

He then just went about doing some other stuff and decided he would have a little rest in his seat. The next moment, he was FLOODED with the most amazing feeling of love and acceptance. The whole room went white and he suddenly KNEW that God was real. In that instance God cleared up all the doubts mark had about God and the Bible - he just had all his questions answered. God told him that he had blessed our marriage even though we werent married in a church and that the reason we met WAS FOR THIS MOMENT! He cant even describe the feeling of love he had - he said it was like the feeling on our wedding day multiplied by a million! He also said (he rememebred this a few weeks later) that he heard this far off cheering sort of noise...he then found that it says in the Bible that there is rejoicing in heaven when someone is saved.

And, hows this? I know it sounds weird, but the next moment a POP UP came up onto his screen for a DR SHIELDS adevertising something or other(this is our last name) and the exact same moment he was paged by the DELIVERY suite (you know "delivered, deliverance." Many people would call this a coincidence but he knows it was God.

I get nervous sharing this story becasue I dont want to take away from just how amazing it is. If you knew my hubby and how much he didnt believe and how he just suddenly believed one day, you would know how miraculous it is! Since then, he hasnt stopped talking about God and doing all he can for the kingdom. He wants to go to Bible college next year and he wants to be a pastor or some kind of teacher. He has been asked to help run alpha courses and he is just the most passionate Christian I have ever met! This doesnt happen on ones own strrength or understanding, it is GOD! He inspires me. This change happened overnight, I cant explain fully just how amazing it is! :D

You know the story? Sorry If that doesn't make sense!!!

He didn't belive Jesus was the Messiah & was persecuting all the Christians...until he was walikng down the road & God spoke to him, there was a bright light etc....

He then went on to be the author of A LOT of the New Testiment!!

My husband and I are both christians even though we have come from very different backgrounds.. he was brought up in the christian family where my family didn't ever go to church. But i must admit i can't think of my life without God now... he is so totally awesome and I am in awe of him every day. He does such good works. Anyway nice to meet you all! hope to talk to you all soon!
