Need your help - Having trouble with girl names

Hi everyone - I am due to have my first baby in 4 months and I have found out it's a girl!!!! Had the boy name picked before I got pregnant but I'm finding girls names are the hardest. I have a few my husband and I like so I would love your opinions.

I really like Lila and Scarlett.
If we have a girl we will have an Amelia Mary.
My DH also likes Elke, but it sounds horrible with our last name.
I used to also like Eva / Ava but they sound a bit harsh to me now.

'Lila Joan' sounds gorgeous, kinda like a 1920s silent movie star. I think it's great to have a middle name linked to a past generation of women in your family, and it'll be significant to your daughter too later in her life.
I gotta say I also liked Giselle, what a luscious name and a beautiful ballet...

My DD is Piper. I have Lila and Scarlett on my short list for my current bubba girl due in Jan. I love that you are naming her after someone, we did too and it was a very old-fashioned J name for a middle name, but it works well. I love the idea of giving my kids a middle name after someone special. I personally want to call my next little girl Luka, but DH is totally against it....dang.

The best idea is to find one of your most wittiest friends who can then pick your name choices to pieces, turning them into teasing names, nick names etc. The name they have the most trouble picking on, should be the name for you!

When pregnant with baby no.1 I tried the Atlas in desperation and found some really funky names.

Some friends have had a Leilani and some others a Leila. I would never have picked them, but they are lovely.

I also love Poppy ..... I called my baby girl Isabella (Bella) but for some reason we have always called her Poppy as a nickname ....... yet when we had her we didn't even think of Poppy as a name !!!!!

i love the name Lila but im not very keen on any of the others. especially poppy...no offense but its just weird!
Lila is lovely though. Perhaps you could have Rose as the middle name? or Grace?

OMG, if you name it Lila Joan my girl could practically be a twin (in name!)

I love Scarlett, scarlett gray... big fan of colors ... Lila's very nice, Lola I can't get past because it's my grandmothers name and she absolutely hates it :p and I'd be one of those 'friends' who says something like Layla could be traumatic for a girl through highschool.

My sister mentioned I should call my girl Olive... nice name, then she started laughing. Her reason? Olive, because it's already stuffed :o (and shes supposed to be the sensible Older Sister!)

oh btw lillyas full name is Lillya Belinda Joan (joan i also got from my grandmother, and remembered that she also gave my mum the idea to name me belinda - my middle name-so she got 2 mentions!)

Get everyone's opinion, as mum pointed out after I name Lillya, that her initials are LBJ and started saying "All the way with LBJ" ...meh :rolleyes:
