Hi Ladies,

As you may be aware - I recently attempted an IVF cycle with my own eggs.

Things went very well to begin with - we had three eggs collected of which two were transferred back. On day 13 of the 2WW I had my blood test and the result came back as a :bfp: .

However, soon after the result AF decided to visit - at first it was only light but then it became heavier and heavier - by Christmas day we were fairly sure that our bub had decided not to hold on. I was finally able to get my blood tested and results today which showed that I was no longer pg.

Although I am very disappointed by the result - there are many positives to be gained from the experience. I now know that I can fall pregnant - so :fingerscrossed: that next time bub will hold on.

I owe many thanks to Sarah - WA Mum of Four - our donor angel - although we did not use her eggs for this cyle, she was there for me. She was able to make me see the positives throughout the whole experience and kept me on track.

Next week we will be contacting our doctor to see where we go from here. We will keep you up to date of our progress.

Belated Christmas wishes to everyone and here's hoping that 2007 will bring the biggest baby boom!!

:hugs: Diana

Hi Diana

I'm sure it was very hard to write all that down but I hope it has made you feel a little better just writting it.

Sarah is wonderful and so insightful I'm glad you had her to put a perspective on the positive,

At least you had a go and wow three embryos, but you know the quality - as i kept being told would not be the best so falling pregnant is fantastic as I think you had about a 3% chance.

wishing you all the best with your next step, take care

Lxx

Awww - thanks everyone - your support is great. :hugs: back to everyone.

Leisurly - the chances were slim as you said - so it was a miracle to get to where we did. So - even though the outcome was not what we wanted there are lots of positives.

Jo - not until I speak to our doctor some time next week will I be able to establish what happened. It may simply be that my eggs are no good - which is why we came to bubhub to find a donor in the first stage. I'll let everyone know when I find out.

Diana:hugs:

Hi Diana,

Sorry I am a bit late but I wanted to pass on my cyber:hugs: to you and DH. It must have been a miserable time you went through. I hope now that you will have a fresh new start to the New Year and as you rightly said, you have a wonderful support from your donor:angel: .
Take care hon.
