Hi all!
Can someone give me some advice on cloth nappy washing. Until now I have been soaking them in Nappysan but I know that's not great for the environment (and that's one of my reasons for using cloth nappies!) I've heard about dry pailing. Does that mean after they have dried out in a bucket you just put them in the wash on a normal cycle?? Also what is they best powder to use?? Thanks!

Hi there!
I don't know much about cloth nappies as I use disposibles, but if you scroll down there is a thread all about nappies and there are heaps of cloth mums out there with great advice! :D
Good luck!

hey :)

my advice to you would be to go to the search section of bubhub (in the darker purple horizontal bar above) - and to type in either cloth - or the actual words dry pailing.... there has been much discussion :)

If you need more help - feel free to privately message me ... as I am happy to chat about cloth (bubs due in a week- have done some research :D)

Thanks for the 'search' suggesstion. Yep, found heaps of interesting pros and cons about the details of cloth nappy washing previously posted. Now I need to find some PUL bags for dry pailing. Anyone know where I can get them or :) how to make my own!!? :)

dry pailing will make your eyes water every time you open the bucket to add another nappy. We soak ours in a bucket that has two tablespoons of borax added and a little splash of eucalyptus oil added. when the bucket is full we wash the naps in the machine with half the amount of powder and white vinegar in the softener distributer. they come out clean and fresh and white. borax is a whole lot cheaper than nappisan too and the sml container lasts for ages.
hope this helps
