Hi everyone

Last night I ended up in hospital with Mastitis. I am now on antibiotics and have been told to keep draining the breast, but DD won't take and I am unable to get a letdown which makes expressing impossible. Would the drugs be stopping the letdown and what can I do?

Thanks,

Claire

You poor love. Call a lactation consultant right now and get them out to your home. The best remedy for mastitis I've ever seen is homeopathy. I've seen women with chronic constant mastitis have it go away immediately with phytolacca. Not all mastitis responds to antibs so it's best to keep your options open. I really really urge you to find a LC. They're the best resource for this stuff.
And try this for some other ideas. Sending healing vibes to you!

Hey JanetF

Thanks so much for your response - you are this forums guardian angel with all your advice and the time you take to respond to people :)

I am going to see my local GP who is a lactation specialist and see if I can get off the drugs. I will talk to her about phytolacca which sounds like it could perfect. I hate the idea of being on antibiotics so the sooner I can get off them and onto something more natural the better. Thankfully Emily has started taking the breast again so things are looking up!

Thanks again :D
