Hi,
I am not welsh, but my nan lives in Cwmbran and other relatives just moved to Usk ( i think). My mum is welsh and my DD1's name is Arwen and Number 3 is having a welsh name too.
Go WALES......
I like the name Arwen.
I gave DS2 my Grandad's name as a middle name - Cynfelin- I toyed with the idea of calling him Ieuan after my other grandad, but DH had a lot of trouble getting his tounge around that one:laughing:.
What names are you thinking of? I have a book of Welsh names for babies with their history and / or meaning. i shall try to find it.
My middle name is Delyth Wyn, I quite like some welsh names but will wait and see whether we are successful in our ivf attempt.
My mum would be delighted if we were to use welsh names.

I like the name myfanwy and Angharad.
My hubby things all the welsh names are weird, but i like them cause they are a bit different and there is a family connection to it.
I like Angharad.
There was a lady in the village I grew up in called Gweneira which translates as Snow White...I kind of liked that too!
I also like Eleri for a girl
Rhodri for a boy
Siriol - means cheerful. Nice of a girl or boy I suppose though to my Welsh ears it sounds like a girls name!
and Lowri.
There are some really pretty names...Do you know what you are having?

The U/S lady said there were no dangly bits. So, a girl, i have 2 already.
The names you suggested were new to me.
Thanks
I have more....
I shall get DH to read them aloud in his aussie voice so that I can see if they still sound pretty when not said in Welsh!!
Siriol is pronounced siri -all (the o sound is short)
Eleri - elle-e-ree with the accent on the first e
Lowri - same as low down, ree with the emphasis on the low part!
Who will be watching Australia V Wales play rugby on saturday??????
