Hi I was wondering if its possible to buy packets of the little sealing disc thingys for the tops of bottles? I have managed to get hold of some bulk 4oz bottles brand new very cheap but they have none of the sealing discs (i guess thats why they were cheap 7 for $1.00) I know that the ones that i have for just the normal sized plastic bottles will fit but i just wanted to know if its possible to get spares.

Thanks Shannon

You can buy Avent discs, but I believe they're for the wider mouth bottles.

But wow! When I did a google search I found an australian source for very cheap bottles as supplied to the hospitals. $1.30 for 250ml bottle, cap and disc. Also disposables for not much more.

I remember seeing Pigeon brand sealing discs in the chemist once. The size for normal bottles, not the wide neck ones. I have tried to look up their stuff online before and couldn't find an oz site for them, so you might have to ask if you can stil get them.

MarthaM - thats amazing :D Can you give me the name of the site? Please? Did you happen to notice if they sell to the public, or is it just to hospitals and places like that?

I'm pretty sure it's for public too, though didn't check if there was a minimum order number. Will pm you the website.

Yeah - share Martha! :p

I haven't seen those discs anywhere! And they're so easily lost!! I think you should get two with every bottle you buy!! :)

I actually ended up with extra discs after melting a few bottles in the microwave steriliser. Don't ask me how I did it, I have no idea.

Anyways, the website for the cheap bottles is Icon Plastics (http://www.iconplastics.com.au/productlist.asp?cat=21&sector=1). Both disposable (pre-sterilised and individually packaged) and reusable bottles available. I have not used them nor looked at them in person, so can't comment on quality. Also it looks like you don't get a top cap to cover the teat, just the bottle, ring cap, sealing disc and teat, although they may just have removed the top cap for the photo. Best to check if anyone orders some.

Have you checked if the bottles really need the discs?

I had some that were made so that when the cap was on, it sealed the top of the teat for you and you didn't need to use the little discs! They were an absolute godsend! I hated fiddling with the little discs when my baby wanted a feed NOW!

I had evenflo brand, but I have noticed that there are a few more out there that don't need them.

Just a thought!

I was in the chemist today and saw some of those sealing discs...they were $0.65 each. They didn't have a brand on them that I could see, but you can definatly get them :D
