We're moving to Melbourne soon (from California). We currently use cloth nappies using a diaper service.
Has anyone any advice/experience on what's available in Melbourne service wise?
Thanks!

hi buddhasmum
i have no idea about your query as i live in Brisbane!! I just wanted to say - cool username!!! What inspired you?? (Did you know that the Buddha's mum was named Queen Maya? A useless bit of trivia for you!)
Um.....you could have a look at www.yellowpages.com.au and do some searches of nappy services in and around Mebourne. The yellow pages site gives you maps and web-sites and lots of info, so might be worthwhile having a look on it.
good luck with your move! :p

Nappie wash service.
I'm about to fork out for 12months service for the impending new bub.

Rachel - Buddha is my DD's nickname - she was SO FAT in the early days, she loved that breastmilk :)
Aardvark - I found Nappie Wash - do you know anyone who uses them? Good luck with the whole birthing experience - it;s a hell of a rough day, but SO worth it! You're gonna love cloth, they really do hold in the explosive poops much better than the disposables i.e. full changes of clothes are not required several times a day

I've used a different nappy service for the previous two babies, but it was bought out by another firm, and seems to have stopped operating since I last had the service.
Most of the maternity hospitals that use cloth nappies use Nappie Wash service. When I was in hospital with #2, the nappies were basically the same condition/quality as I had from the other company, and I had no problems with those.
It's cheaper to buy it in larger amounts. I think the price they gave me was $1400 for 12 months of 70 nappies per week.
