View Full Version : I found a little boy today....
i went outside to greet my DP as he pulled in the drive, i looked up and noticed a little boy walking up the street.
there was no-one else in sight so i told DP to watch the kids so i can see where the boy is going.
he then walks down the main street and i lose sight of him.
a man pulls up beside me in a ute and asks if ive lost a baby, i said no he's not mine but yes i was looking for him, he tells me that his nephew has just gone to get him and i see them walking back across the HIGHWAY!!!
they then asked if i would help him find his mum because they werent sure how she would react to see him in a car with 2 grown men.
so me and this little boy walk hand in hand back down the street about to walk in my house so i could call the police when his mum pulls up
SHOUTS his name and tells him to get in the car and that she has told him to stop going out the front door.
NOT EVEN A THANKYOU!!!!!!!
DP then tells me he knows the parents and that DHS have been there numerous times.
this child was barefoot and only had shorts on and it was 16c
some women dont deserve their kids!!!!!!! she ruined my day

you r so right some people just dont deserve children...what an ungrateful women...obviously it happens all the time. she is probably the type if something did happen to turn around and say oh why me..how could this happen to me....silly women.
at least you did the right thing. and hopefully if something like that happens to you one day you will know that others are like yourself and have a good heart
you did the right thing.

my god how old was he ?? it was also nice of the men to help out to and smart to ask you take take over.
i guess it is pretty bad but to me it was the mothers reaction that was the worst part. i know when my sisters son went wondering out the door when she was on the loo (was also the dady we found out he knew how to use a key) she freaked big time when running up the street and some lady was walking with him back home. my sister could not thank her enough and even bought her a little present and her kids (who were the first to notice him) she felt like such a bad mum.
but these things can happen to anyone it the reaction the reaction that worries me

:hugs: i know its easy for toddlers and young kids to slip outside when you are doing something and not watching my ds1 has proven that to be right. but i caught him in the frount yard before he could cross the road as our gates were open (we live ona busy road too:eek: )we now lock our wire screen froutn door when we have the froutn door open to let air in.
it was nice of you to help return the little boy to his mum.
if someone found my little terror roaming the streets i would probably be in a bit of a state when i finally got him back, i would be pretty happy he is back but i would also be stressed out from looking fo rhim.maybe she is stressed out and didnt mean to not thank you?

That is very sad, shame on her. :shame:
I know how quick a toddler can take off but that mothers reaction is disgusting. I'd be absolutely terrified if that happened to me
:yelclap: for those men! What a responsible thing for them to do. It's so good that they were the ones to find him, as it could have been 'anybody' with not so honourable motives.
I think the mother's reaction was horrible! I know how easy it is to lose sight of a child though. I had a similar situation when I was at the library one time. DS2 was seen near DH so I assumed he was keeping an eye on him.. I was chasing DS1 picking up all of the DVD's he was pulling off the shelves and when I happened to turn around I saw DS2 out near the road and about to step out! I was SO upset, I dropped all the DVD's I was holding and ran out that door so fast! I was shaking I was so upset, what if I hadn't seen him for another 10 seconds??!! I think that PPL would have thought, "oh how bad, she can't even watch her child." but they don't know the whole story....
We don't know how long that Mum had been looking for him, maybe she was very stressed.... still... if someone else had found him, she should definately have thanked them! If someone else had found DS2, I would have bought them a bunch of flowers.

Oh what a rude mother, she should think herself lucky that safe hands found him..
the parents live about 4-5 streets away from where i first saw him, so im guessing he'd been gone a while considering how kids dawdle along.
but when she started yelling at him to get in the car, he just looked at me as if to say, well thanks for getting me in trouble lady. :(

Well done!
Although, I would have called the department.. right then and there before you even took him home.
That happened to me once when I was only 16. walking back from thre hairdressers and this little (what we thought was a boy) came toddling round the corner to go across the main road! me being me couldnt let him keep going so I took him to the closest shop and they said to me "we dont know him, you'll have to call the police" and basically shuffled me out of their shop.. child turned out be a little girl.. about 2.5 years old.. and the mother had left her home with a 6 YEAR OLD while she went to do the grocery shopping with the older kids!
mother still couldnt explain why it was middle of winter and all she had on was a pair of trackie pants and a full nappy..
Some people just shouldnt have kids!
eta: forgot to mention.. mother didnt even raise the alarm for over 4 hours that she was even missing..

i
so me and this little boy walk hand in hand back down the street about to walk in my house so i could call the police when his mum pulls up
As horrible as this woman sounds, I think I'd be pretty freaked out if I was looking for my child and found them about to walk into some-one's house holding hands.
Good on you for trying to do the right thing:thumbsup:
