Hi everyone.
Yesterday I had an emotional day. I am 6 weeks pregnant and I have to have BT's done every week to make sure my pregnancy is progressing nicely as I have PCOS and my FS has classed my pregnancy as "High Risk". So far my BT's have all come back fine (except I have low progestorone which I have been using Pessaries for). Yesterday my FS's nurse rang to say that my BT showed that my HCG level isnt as high as it should be for 6 weeks. She didnt tell me what it was though. She was actually very rude and insensitive. When I asked "Well should I be worried?" she replied with "No you shouldnt worry, there is nothing you can do about it now". That was quite upsetting as it felt so final. She did follow on to say that my level has increased a little over the past week but not as much as she had hoped. She said some pregnancies go on to be perfectly normal after this sort of situation but I also must prepare myself for possible 'missed miscarriage' or 'eptopic'. I have to wait a whole week before they will do a scan. She said they were going to do scan next Friday anyway as they like to do a 7 week scan but because of xmas they were going to hold off until the following week. Now they have decided not to hold off as they are 'concerned'. The doctor is coming in specifically to do my scan. I have been very upset, I think more because I am confused. I tried reading stuff on the internet but I just got more confused.
I would love to hear some positive stories of other women who have been in this situation and have gone on to have perfectly normal pregnancies....

This is not a the positive thread you are after, but it may help. I was told I had an ectopic pregnacy, a blighted ovum and a moler pregnacy based on my HCG levels from my a couple of GP's in the centre I go too (my GP is overseas at the moment).

When I went an spoke to the gyno, he said my HCG levels were fine, but based on my scan I did have a blighted ovum. I have learnt no one knows what they are taking about until they see the yolk and fetal pole on the scan... a lot of it they just guess at.

Try not to stress (I know it is a lot harder said then done) and try to have a positive attitiude. My GP said that because my levels did not increase to the levels he thought they should, I would M/C... The Gyno did not have any issues with my levels, he told me that not everyone increase at the same amount, but as long as they increase the the bracket it is a good indication... I have also leart that there is no such thing as a text book pregnacy. What maynot be good signs for one person, are good signs for another

I hope that everything works out well for you.

Well I spoke to a Doctor from my FS's office yesterday. He informed me that my level was 3400 last week. I had no idea what this meant so I went on a website that shows the brackets of HCG levels. I was shocked that the bracket is so huge! I was 6 weeks last week when they did my BT and at 6 weeks I should be between 1080 and 56500! The doctor said I am still 'within the range' of a pregnant woman but he would have preferred my level to be higher. He did say though that some women have had lower HCG levels than me at this stage and have gone on to have perfectly normal pregnancies. I hope that is the case for me.
One more sleep and then I find out! :fingerscrossed:

Hi Pebbles!

I hope you still had a great Christmas with this worry hanging over you, a tough time :hugs:

From memory, your HCG sounds higher than mine was! I remember that at 4 weeks the guy told me that they can't see anything on ultrasound till 2,000 and we counted and figured that should be around 6 weeks for me! At 6 weeks 1 day I saw my little bean with its flashing heartbeat and it was magic :D

I sure hope all is well with your Christmas bub, best wishes for your scan, and here is some sticky baby dust for your little one too, LOL :wizard:

Thanks for all your support girls, it really means alot. :hugs:
I feel so much better now knowing that there is still hope that my little one is ok. I was so worried because I dont seem to have many pregnancy symptoms and then to hear that my level is low was distressing. But now that I know a bit more info and I have heard such a wonderful miricle story (thats yours Shorty!) I am feeling alot more confident. Daisyxs I hope your lucky numbers work for me. I will keep you's all updated.
My appointment is at 8am tomorrow morning, nice and early thank god.
OJandMe thank you so much for the prayer, my mum is preying too. I hope it helps!
