I have a question about OPK.
We've been ttc for 11 cycles now, been using Maybe Baby but that doesn't work for me, cos i fern all the time.
Have started using OPK did the first one on day 13 (cos that's when they were delivered). Got one line so a clear negative, on day 14 got two lines but the test line was faint, today is day 15 and got the same as yesterday. I'm just curious about once it's detected does the test line get darker till both lines are the same colour. Reason I'm asking is because the instructions say if you get two lines but the test line is lighter then you are not ovulating.
Should i keep testing cos it may get darker?

Its possible, that you may have had the peak in your LH surge sometime between day 14 and 15 and you just missed it because you didn't test at that time. Alternatively, maybe your surge is still coming and you'll get a line that is darker tomorrow. Until you know how your regular pattern works, its always best to BD just in case whenever you see any sort of second line. Or you could do two tests a day and that way you could be more sure of exactly when your peak is.

Yes, you should keep testing, possibly even later today.

Just remember though they are not a precise science. How much you have had to drink will impact how dark the line can be. You might test at 10am, get 2 lines but the test line fainter than the control, get an LH surge at 11am, and it will be gone by the next morning, so you think the cycle was a dud, when it may very well not have been.

My experience has been that if I get ANY test line on an OPK, then it's game on. I've used an OPK twice, and have 2 children as a result (my first child predates OPKs, we used Billings method). I didn't get a line the same intensity as the control line in either of those cycles.

I used to get a faint second line from about 2 days before O until it gradually got as dark as the test line. I would recommend testing twice a day so you don't miss the surge.

Good luck :fingerscrossed:
