Howdy

Any other die-hard shoppers go out last night for the all night shopping at Westfield shopping centres? A friend and I managed a very respectable 11pm - 2am effort at Chermside.

I haven't been there since the extentions were opened. How huge is that shopping centre now??!!

Yeah it's crazy in there, especially with the new section - you can get lost in there!!!

I totally forgot that they were open for the night, could have gone at midnight since DS was up :barf:

I went there the other day and had to quickly rush in and out cause too many people in the shuffing and pushing :banghead:

Hope you did some nice shopping??

I did! I go with the same friend every year. Last year we were both waddling about 7 months pregnant :)

It didn't seem as busy this year and we didn't have to fight for a car spot. I don't know if this is because fewer people were out, or Chermside is so much bigger now that there was just more room for people to spread out.

I'm glad you found it worth your while - I've thought about going myself, but I couldn't imagine shopping that late, in fact I couldn't imagine being awake that late at night since having DD - I turn into a pumpkin after about 10pm!

No babysitter so I was home by 9.30pm.

It was crazy though - we drove around our local centre 3 times before finding a park and Kmart was a nightmare (more than usual!) to navigate with trolley and child. I had an argument at the service desk with the lady refusing to do a raincheck on a rain-checkable item. Very stressful!

I'm hoping to get a babysitter next year to do Chermside.

A couple of years ago, I would have loved the idea of midnight shopping - nice empty stores, no heat of the day to contend with, that sense of calm that lingers in the night ...

Now, midnight is a time for sleeping.

Gee having a baby has made me so OLD!

We only had 2 extra days of late night shopping (til 9 pm)this year in Perth and I went on Wednesday night and it was dead so dead that some of the shops closed up at 7.30pm
