I am a Type 2 diabetic and with my 2 pregnancies i was told i was going to be induced at or before 40 weeks because the placenta has a tendency to stop working. With dd i was induced at 39 weeks cause dd was apparently 'big'.With ds i was induced spot on 40 weeks. He was growing good and my diabetes was well controlled, mind you it was controlled both pregnancies.

My question is,has anyone ever said no to being induced and just let nature take its course,i know there are risks involved and thats why i opted for being induced but i really want to go into spontaneous labor next time.

Has anyone got any tips for me?

I had GDM with both my babies. Spont labour with first at 38 weeks and induction at 41 weeks with second. With the second i saw an obst at 40 weeks and he wanted to induce me with gel. As it was the easter long weekend i asked for it to be the following week if nothing happened. Had my waters broken but no drip. 1.5 hours later Darcy born ( 9 pounds ) 2 mins of pushing. I am only 5 foot 2 but must have a wonderful internal pelvic structure.
Good luck
