Special needs family

Does anyone know what special needs families are intitled to?
Is this just for housing or does it include help with childcare etc?

We are classed as a special needs family, and as far as I know, we are entitled to a pre posting visit if needed when posting, and housing accommodates our individual needs, but never been told I was entitled to any extra child care. I did get help from the co-ordinator when I got sick while DH was on deployment, but the care actually was supplied by the local area health service I think. My original report suggests tht I will need respite when hubby is at sea, but this is easier said than done!
If you are entitled to apply for special needs recognition, they do a report, so if respite is what you need, maybe suggest it to them then??? Wish I could be more help...
