My cousins little boy cant walk.
Over a week ago he started limping and she thought he had just fallen and hurt himself but it kept getting worse to the point where he couldnt walk at all, only crawl.
He is now in WestmeaD Childrens Hospital and they dont know whats wrong. He has been on a drip with antibiotics because they thought it was an infection of some sort. But they really dont know.
He has fluid on his hip which they think is from his spine. What does this mean. Any advice or ideas???

Oh your poor cousin and family :crying: And the poor little boy!
I've never heard of this happening before and I think that the only answers you'll get are from the medical professionals involved with the family...
But it's good you are letting this out and I want you to know that my prayers are with this boy and his family. I really hope they work out what the cause is and that he is rehabilitated asap :hugs:

I don't know but I can say he is in a terrific hospital so he is in great hands. I hope they work out what is going on and that he is home for Christmas.

Omg :crying:
:hugs: to his family.
He may have fluid on his spinal cord which may be pressing on the nerves and stopping the messsages from his brain reaching the muscles in his legs. Does that make sense? So once they relieve the pressure everything might fix itself.
I hope it's all temporary :(

Anyway, thanks for your well wishes, Ella

My friends 3yo girl was rushed to hospital with something that sounds very similar last year.
She was in excruciating pain and unable to walk.
It turned out that she had a heap of fluid on her hip and it is a form of acute arthritis that usually only mainifests once in thier life and they do recover fully after a couple of weeks. The biggest problem is if it happens again (which is extremely rare) there may be permanent damage in the form of a limp or even ending up wheelchair bound.
I looked after my friends 5 other kids while her dd was in hospital - it was a very anxious time ... I will be praying your cousin and her little man!
Big hugs to your cousin :hugs:
