Have you ever used a toy library? Have you found the toys are in good condition?

DS has waaayyy to many toys also, but I borrowed a (mind block can't think of what its called) those things that go on the ground with toys hanging from them and bubs lies underneath??? He loved it, it was easy to assemble, and clean!
By the time he got bored of it, it was time too return it! When I get time I'll go down and see what else they have! :D
I love our local toy library, especially for Shannon. I don't think babies really need it so much but for toddlers its fantastic.
The best thing about it is that you get to road test toys. There have been toys that I would be thinking about buying Shannon, I get them from the toy libary and he shows no interest in them, so I have saved myself some money.
Somtimes the toys can be a bit grotty, I have had to clean them before they get used.

hi there,
I work in a public library and we have a free toy library. I think it is wonderful if I say so myself, I use it all the time for my dd, especially for the more expensive toys. Part of the conditions of lending is that the toys are returned in a clean state, if not borrower is asked to take the toy back home and clean it or they will be charged a cleaning fee, so our toys are all really clean, they also get steam cleaned on a regular basis. I have used 2 other toy libraries not associated to ours, one was a pay toy library, where you pay per week for lending and the toys were all really clean, but have used one from another public library and found most of the toys were either really old or dirty. It really depends on the organisation that you are borrowing from how dirty they are etc. Give it a go, we have parents in religiously every week to borrow, they save you sooooo much money and as the previous poster said, they are great for road testing toys.

I use a QLD playgroup assosiation toy library and I find it great. Its free for playgroup QLD members and the toys are clean.
I Too use the QLD Playgroup Toy Library. ITs great to try toys out on Tayla as you would be surprised what you think they would like and what they actually like. I would never have thought she would like the little people collection but courtesy of the toy library toys we borrowed, we have not invested in a range of them and she loves it.
Toys are in good condition and always clean although I must admit I do give them a clean myself before I let her loose on them.
They add a bit of variety to the mix especially when birthday and christmas have passed and current toys have become boring.
My MIL goes to the toy library for my DD's cousin and says that it is great for those big expensive toys you may not wish to purchase. i think I will try it out when my DD is a bit older.
I joined up and I love it. Ds has been happily rocking away on his toy library rocking horse all week. I'd highly recommend it. There's heaps of great toys to choose from, and stuff that I may not buy.
