Hi, where do you put your baby to sleep if you live in a 2 storey house, downstair or upstair? I put my 6 wk old girl in Amby Baby hammock at night time in my upstair bedroom. She sleeps on a small mattress which I put on a very firm mattress in the lounge/dining area during the day and use safe-and-sound snuggler to lock her in the mattress. I won't let her sleep there once she starts to roll over cos she'll fall off the couch. Now she starts to get bigger and will grow out of the mattress soon and I don't know where I'm going to put her when we're downstair. Moving the hammock up and down everyday will be a hassle (the hammock is not small). My husband doesn't want to buy a cot yet as we don't have space to put it right now. What do you wise mothers do ?

It sounds like you may have to MAKE room for a cot...she has to sleep somewhere, depending on how big she is i suppose one of those cocoon/travel (you know the little beds with a hood & cover) beds, might do, like a Valco or similar?? I'm sorry i can't help more, it would be hard with a two story house...then again maybe you could put her upstairs to sleep and have a monitor so you could hear when she wakes up?
for the day time we just used one of those fold out kids couches... if they roll off no big deal. we used it from day one he is 3 now and still uses it for his day time naps.

what about a portacot, they can easily be put down when not in use and if you go away anywhere they can be taken with you and the child is comfoted by the fact they are in familiar surroundings when sleeping. :)
they are very good but are big if you dont have much room.
what about a blanket on the floor??? i did it all the time... just keep an eye on them for when they wake up and decided to go rolling/crawling about. but obviously you would baby proof the room anyways..
