Why are girls never happy with their name? For years I've joked with DD, cause she wanted to change her name to Moonbeam Rainbow something or other years ago, but now she is writing a diary with the story of our family, and she has decided to call herself Crystal! What's wrong with Chloe??!! She's 8, and I know it's just a phase, but why?!:banghead:
We haven't had this problem yet with our dd, but we named her Bella Cate because we liked both names as a first name and have told her that she is allowed to chose which one she wants to be known as if she finds she is unhappy with being called Bella or if she is starting to get teased (ie. Belly, which she doesn't mind or rubella).
I can remember hating my name ... in fact it wasn't until I was 25 that I actually started to accept it - lol!
DD really likes Sienna, Teagan and Chloe at the moment ... every doll etc is named one of these - obviously you made a fantastic choice with Chloe!
I know it feels like you are :banghead: , but it will settle in time ... just think of it as her creative side developing  .

I think thats a "girl thing" lol - I hate my name (Shannon) as a child and didn't have a middle nameso I took to calling myself Kelly .. and all my dolls and bears etc also had Kelly in their names.
When I hit 21 I was blown out of the water when I read my Natural birth certificate and saw that my birth name had been 'Kelly Maree'
i even remember going through the same phase when i was young. im waiting for my kids to do it to me, but so far ive been lucky.

I always hated my name because it was so different, now I love it because it is unique.;)
My name's Joelle BTW (pronounced like Noel, the christmas song)
I always hated my name (Porscha) but never decided on what I would change it to.
I remember my younger brother going thru a stage when he was about 3yrs old where he insisted his name was Michelle
