Hi all
My daughter starts year one soon and needs the smock and library bag. There are so many awful looking ones around. There is a company in Brisbane that hand makes sheet bags for kindies and preschools, they also make smocks and library bags. Does anyone know the name of this company or any similar companies.
Cheers

Hi Pru

I don't know the name of the company but it would be useful to know have for future reference.

I bought my kids some lovely library bags from ebay. I have bought smocks from Art/craft shops which were reasonably priced. I also saw some gingham smocks in BigW the other day which were nice. They were located around the school clothes so if you get desperate have a look there.

Hi Pru,
I think they are called Kindy Sheets, I am pretty sure that they advertise in Brisbane's child.

Hi,

I got a spotlight catalogue yesterday with some cute looking smocks, aprons, chair bags and library bags. 4 designs to choose from starting at $7.99. You also get a discount with the spotlight card. I'm almost went and bought them to put them away for my dd when she is older ;)

hi Nimlot,
I just noticed that you are in the same suburb as I am. We received a target catalogue yesterday and they had smocks (they called them aprons). you could also try your local public library for library bags, I work in a library for Caboolture Shire and we sell them quite cheaply.

Have a look on this site for some very cute smocks. I will be looking for something for Caitlin as soon as she is at that stage.

Was looking through the latest Woman and Child Magazine and a company based at Noosa is making these things. They are called www.kitko.com.au The stuff looks well made but i thought a bit pricey.

Hi,
You can also try www.thatsmybag.com.au.

Top quality library bags - great as ballet bags too.

As has already been mentioned, spotlight has them and the smocks especially are really cute.

If you're into sewing at all though, neither are hard to make and then you can have complete choice over the fabric etc :)

There are a whole heap of gorgeous library bags and smocks on ebay - the bags start from around $4.95 and there are lots of nice handmade ones.

Was at Spotlight today and they have a whole range of coloured and plain hessian library bags - they are so cute.

Also the aprons are OK but I think the smocks/Aprons from Big W and Target are much better.

Hi,
I've found the most durable and affordable library bags at www.thatsmybag.com.au (http://www.thatsmybag.com.au). They also have a great range of kindy sheet bags which my kids used throughout their time at daycare. We tried the BigW and Spotlight stuff - most of it fell apart in the wash after a few cycles, or wore out on the bottom. The stuff from That's My Bag has been terrific. Highly recommended.
