Hi all

I was just wondering if anyone could give me some advice on nappy covers. We use pocket nappies with an aplix closure but my son has worked out how to pull them off. I dread the thought of finding him in his cot bare butted with a nice surprise for me.

I would like to get some covers but not sure what sort. I have seen lots of wool ones around, do these get hot? My boy is very hot and sweats a lot so I don't want to make him uncomfortable.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks :)

You can try PUL covers with the snaps instead of aplix (such as Motherease Airflows) or maybe try dressing him in a singletsuit style outfit that has poppers in the crotch so he can't access the aplix???

Wool is good and would be cooler than PUL in summer if the nappy is wet because evaporation will cool him down.

Gotta go, hope that helps.

Wool covers are definitely your best option for the warmer months, as wool regulates the body temperature, so is cool in summer, and warm in winter. Plus they are really low maintenance, and the most natural, breathable cover to put on your child.
The cover I use is a Sckoon machine washable wool cover, fastened with both snaps , and Velcro; the snaps are really strong, not so child friendly!
Not sure if I can post where to get them, just PM me if you would like info on a supplier.
Next option is PUL, but hot in summer, bc not nearly as breathable, and I agree, the Motherease Air Flow is the best in that department.
Thirdly, you've got fleece, which works on the evaporative effect. I've been happy with my Tots Bots fleece covers but they're all Aplix fastened...
I'd defintely go for wool...the Sckoon cover is not too heavy for day use.

Hi

Thank you for your replies, I had a look at the ones you have recommended and like both the Motherease and Sckoons, I think I will probably go for a wool cover for night time to keep him cool.

Thanks
