What's your favourite parenting book (of any type) for new parents? What's good and covers the basics, especially for the first 6 months or so. Any suggestions?

Hi mim1
I have "Baby Love" by Robyn Barker. I find it really good. It's really thick and covers pretty much every topic you could dream of when it comes to babies.

"Your Pregnancy- Week by Week" by Lesley Regan.

I called this my Pregnancy Bible, everything I needed to know was in there, and great pictures of what the baby looks like at different stages too

"The baby book" By Dr William Sears covers from birth to age 3 I think, or is it 2?

breastfeeding naturally is a great book for breastfeeding information, and better still you can get a free copy if you subscribe to the breastfeeding association, good value!

Another Baby Love - Robin Barker fan here.

I also have "what to expect in the first year" a follow on from "what to expect when your expecting" I like that one too, but used Baby Love the most. Would have been lost without it in the early days.

For a good read and a put-your-mind-at-ease (especially for the frist few months), I LOVED Baby on Board by Dr Howard Chilton. It's informative and really quite funny. Perfect to take with your for the duration of your hospital stay.

I also have Kaz Cooke's Kid Wrangling which is good for a starting point for research. For example, she mentions various sleep and settling ideas or breastfeeding tips and such and gives a bunch of "further reading" options for each so you can get more information.
