hi there i am looking for a new pram for ds he is 16 months and i bought the bertini pram but it is too big and bulky and ds is too long for it. I am wondering if it best for me now to just buy a cheap stroller or invest in a newer pram like a valco runabout or a phil and ted what do you think? What age did you make the transition from pram to stroller

Yep gotta agree on that! Strollers are so light and easy to put in the car and the kids love them because usually they can see everything easier.

Id personally go for a Steelcraft Phoenix Stroller. It has layback all the way if you want and also sits straight up. My little miss has been in it since 3 weeks and I have had 3yr olds in it as well with no worries. Its very light and only cost me $119.

I'd go a stroller that laybacks so he can still have a sleep in it, something like a steelcraft profile. Great pram, great price. I don't have actually have one, but i've been stroller researching myself.

As your DS gets older he will start to want to walk more and you don't want to be lugging around a big 3-wheeler or pram for short trips when he's hardly in it.

Definitely the stroller. I just bought Chicco Stroller from Toys R US. Half Price ended up about $85. Fantastic. Lays back, so suitable from 6 months and folds up really easily. I can fold it and put in the boot all while holding Ds.

I'd go the stroller too. I've had DS in his for just over a month now and it is so much easier to pack away and it fits everywhere!! DS loves it too. And I love that I can hang my shopping bags over the handles, very handy indeed!!! LOL!!:D

I did a bit of research into strollers when I decided I wanted one instead of a big bulky pram.

I wanted something lightweight, with a multi-positional recline, a carry basket underneath and a handle that was like a horizontal bar (not two actual "handles" as such). I also wanted a carry strap (I use lots of public transport), and for the seat to structured, not a cheap "hammock" type of seat.

I then came across the Valco Urban Ultra-light. It weighs a bit under 5kg and is the LIGHTEST pram. It's not a flimsy umbrella pram, but it still folds up really flat and is great quality.

I had to order it online because none of the stores nearby had it... but I bought it at Babies Galore Online for $200 (including postage).

It's brilliant.

 I have this pram and agree, it's great. I also catch public transport and i have used this since DD was about 3 months old. She's 2.5 now and it's still going strong. She loves sitting holding onto the bar at the front. Oh and it has a great big basket for lots of shopping.
