I thought I'd just give a tip :D

Today it was very hot and I was about to give Cobey some much needed Nudie Time when I had an idea

I put down the usual shower curtain that i use for no-nappy time and then soaked one of my sarongs :D I wrung it out then popped it on top of the curtain and put Mr Nudie-Rudie on top of it.
He LOVED it :D He rolled around, sucked the sarong, grabbed and felt it, wriggled and giggled! But the best thing is that he cooled right down and stopped being such a cranky-bum.

He even posed a little. (http://www.flickr.com/photos/nikki_m/322008448/)

Who else has a tip on how to keep the bubbies cool?

Yep thats what we do & now we have a clam shell for him we can use that too. Before anyone gets narky about water wastage we only use a few centremetres & then it goes onto the garden which is the only was we water it !

Also when it gets really bad as we often hit 48 degrees out here  I strip him off & put the air con on but we now have an evapourative air-con that will get used more often especially as its upstairs & im lucky to make it out of bed for an hour each day atm.

same! but i couldnt care less anyways if it means keeping my baby out of the hospital from dehydration then i will use as much water as i need!

some of us unfortunates dont have air con so its the only thing we can do to stop our kids from gettin heatstroke.....

:fingerscrossed: we might be gettin an aircon for a xmas present off my dad...

DD loves it when I wet a muslin wrap, then spin it for a couple of mins in the washing machine ...when I put it on her she loves touching it and sucking on it and it keeps her cool

Need to supervise though as they can easily get tangled up in it!

We do a thing when we go out that DH calls a "Coolongaddy safe" (no idea in the world how you spell that) which is a bit like your sarong thing - soak a huge muslin square in water and drape it over the (double-) stroller as we're walking along, and let the wind blow over it.
Keeps them cool AND out of the sun at the same time, and the wind blowing off the top of it keeps me cool too. Good for cars if you don't have aircon, too.

Cold water in a spray bottle, spray your face back etc and it's lucious! The girls LOVE it!

Oh Nikki, did I read that right? 30*C???? That is nothin!
As Ally said ( live near by) it can get to 48 out here! I am happy when it's only 30! We've been getting 34-42 days out here:barf: :(

it's not quite yet hit it's peak.

And it's V-E-R-Y humid here too.

Also, 30 is hot, no matter weather you're used to 48 or not, it's still hot.

Humidity is a killer - my tips -

1. Aircon
2. Aircon
3. Did I mention Aircon?
4. the spray-water-bottle we call it "fairy rain"
5. the eeny-weeny paddling pool - even with 5cm of water in it is a godsend
6. the pool

Love your idea Nikki!

True, I guess if you're not used to it that hot 30 would feel pretty hot!

I like your idea though. I couldn't use it for Kailah as she'd just crawl away or get herself tangled in it like everything else:rolleyes:

Thanks :D

Last checked (about a week ago) he was 6.9kg... unsure about his length - for his 4 month check (a month ago) he was 63cm.. I'll check it when he wakes up in the morning (I need to do it for his 5 month height/weight thing anyway)

WOW. From the pics he looks a lot bigger. I thought maybe 7.3-7.5 & longer!!!

And here I was worrying that Bianca is too small. Last week she was 6.6kg & at 4mths 62cm, but I'm pretty sure she's lost weight this week - teeth moving I think (at least that will mean that the not eating thing is only temporary!)

nah, Cobes is the 50th percentile for weight about a wee bit smaller for height... but Chris and I aren't what you'd call tall so it makes sense ;)

Yeah but running it is the killer :(

We dont have the money for me to be running it all the time like i did while pg.

Hahaha yeah i was pg when we bought this place so refused buy somewhere unless it had air-con especially out this way otherwise DP was having one installed before we moved in hehehe.
Now i will make sure our next house will have a dishwasher as i didnt really care before & now i do especially when on the second round of hyperemesis & DP not always being able to do much due to his back !
