Hi
My little boy is 11 months on Sunday and I was wondering when I should start to wean him off the bottle and start to give him cows milk? He drinks water from a siper cup fine.
I heard it was around 12 months. Does anyone know if you do 50/50 for a while or just straight change?
Should it be full cream?

Hi!
I've been told that it's around 11 - 12 months and you do 50/50 formula to milk. And gradually increase the milk part. I haven't done that with DD bottle yet but I've started giving her 50/50 water and cow's milk in her cereal. I'm going to be starting the bottle weaning soon though. :)

Sorry forgot to add...yes it's supposed to be full cream. :)
I have just got DS of the bottle :) I started at 11 mths giving him his formula in a sipper cup. At first he point blank refused it but after a week he would drink his lunch time milk in it and now at 12mths he drinks all his milk from a sipper cup.
It is a good idea to mix up the milk 50/50 formula and cows milk at first to get them use to the taste of the milk.

Hi
Well I have started giving Bailey 50/50 cows milk and formula and is drinking it so that is a good sign. The problem I am having is that he wont sit still when drinking the bottle. At one stage I resorted to putting him in his cot to have his lunch time and bedtime bottle but I stopped that because I didnt want him to get used to this and make the assocation of the bottle and bed. I think I will try and give him his milk in a sipper cup and see how that goes. Do they still have three bottles a day? Sometimes he is not interested in it and I worry because I thought that had to have 600ml of milk a day. But is that 600ml of milk or dairy because he eats cheese and yoghurt. Any imput would be great!!!!
