talk heaps? My 4 year old DD is always talking. It's great most of the times but sometimes I just need a little bit of peace and quiet.

  It must be that age! My nephew is 4 & just won't shut up. It's not the talking as such that gets frustrating, its the questions! He asks a million questions every time I see him & they are questions he knows the answers to or just really stupid ones  Poor little guy just wants to talk but yes it can get VERY annoying.

My DS1 is 5 and he doesn't stop talking. Most of the time he is quick and witty. Cheeky buggar! I think DH dreads coming home some night because of DS1 :ecomcity:

my dd is 7 and STILL does not shut up. she even talks in her sleep. she is now one of 'those' people who come in mid conversation and wants you to tell the WHOLE story again. and then there is a million questions that follow. And has become the biggest sticky beak ever. And why?? everything is why?? Gotta love her. She is sweet as :hugs:

lol...I can so relate to sticky beaks...my 10 year old hovers around corners when Dh and I are talking.
As they get older, they understand more and seem more desperate to have that adult conversation

Agree! Well DD isn't 6 for a month, but she just keeps getting worse. With the questions - she still asks the ones she knows the answer to, but now she's started on the hard ones... (that mummy doesn't know :o)

Coming home, mum rang me to ask what DD wanted for Xmas, I said that i would call her back because someone was sitting in the back listening intently to which DD replied "I'm not listening, I'm staring out the window..." Obviously you're not listening!!!

DD hasn't shut up since she learnt to talk. Gets very tiring.
It's a bit mean, but my friend plays the "who can be quiet for the longest" game with her 2 a lot! She is lucky if they get past a minute.
I think it was in an email...
You spend the first two years teaching them to walk and talk and the next 16 telling them to sit down and be quiet

the first thing that people say about dd is, wow she really does talk alot. she hardly takes a breath from the minute she wakes up till she goes 2 sleep AND she is only 17mths :ecomcity:
i can't imagine how bad it is gunna get when she is 4,5,6 - 10
Oh yes I can relate to this. My DD is 4 1/2 years and never stops talking (takes after me  ) She asks questions about everything so as a result knows lots of stuff most 4 year olds wouldn't have a clue about.
There are times when I wish she would be quiet, like when a kangaroo jumped in frount of our car and I am slaming on the brakes to avoid it going throught the windscrean DD was asking questions about what sort of kangaroo it was :(

Well my DS1 seriously doesnt stop from 530am till 800pm. The thing with the questions now is that hubby and I are no longer the font of all knowledge. DS1 will ask a question, wait for the answer and then say "no it isnt" or "thats wrong its...." He would argue that the moon was made of marshmallow just to argue with you. Still love him though:hugs:

Tell me about it. My daughter never stops :ecomcity: :ecomcity: :ecomcity: . Even when i drop her off at school she is still talking to me through the car window while she walks through the school gate. And if we are discussing something and she thinks im wrong she comes out with "Well Actually......."
It does crack me up alot of the time but sometimes it does get a bit much especially when i have been at work all day and I have to ask her to give mummy a break for 5mins. I dont think she has actually made it through the full 5mins though.

Zach is 4 and he doesnt stop, Alex is 5 and he doesnt talk as much as Zach but he still talks a lot. Zach is just absolutely nonstop... he goes to sleep talking to his teddies...
I often have 3 of them talking at once.. all the little ones.. they dont give up, they compete with each other to get heard.. the older 3 know when to shut up (most of the times)
Oooooh yes!! DD (22 months) just doesnt stop! Constantly talking!! Its good, but sometimes mummy needs quiet time...:p

Yep DD literally never shuts up.
Until a few weeks ago alot of it was babble but lately her speech has come along in a big way....and now it actually makes sense. I liked the babble better at least I could pretend I couldn't understand her LOL.

Even the quiet little babe of mine didnt stop winging... it was sooooo annoying after a while. I swear i forget what silence is sometimes.

I hear ya..! My four year old is :ecomcity: all the time, asking questions about this and that, when we drive in the car I like to have my music pumpin away and he's like - mum turn that down I need to ask u a question
It's cute - I use to hang out for the day he was at an age where he was chatting constantly and doing the 'But Why" , somedays tho I wish I could find the mute button.
I remember being a kid and askin all sorts if questions and I was amazed, and thought my mum was the smartest person in the world for knowing so much...I think about this when the questions get a bit tedious.
