hey girls,

Im on my second round on clomid at the moment and just wanted to ask how many cycles did it take for you to get BFP on Clomid?
I know its different for everyone, im just feeling abit down about whether or not it will work. Im in the 'unexplained infertility catergory' and waiting for lap/hyst.....
thanks girls!!!!

Pippi, I was extremely fortunate to conceive after 1 round but for my older sister it was close to 2yrs. Sending lots of baby dust your way.

My eldest sister didnt conceive on it but she had LF problems..

My middle sister conceived on it first go once she was getting proper monitoring (as she needed a trigger injection). For her second child she was put on FSH though...

I tried 4 doses which made me O only twice so Im now on FSH injections.

We all have PCOS.

But then again many O and conceive straight away still, everyone is sooooo different! Just make sure you are getting monitored and dont let them keep you on the same dose if you are not Oing on it.
My FS only gives you between 4-6 chances at Clomid before moving you onto FSH which is stronger (but needs to be monitored carefully so you dont end up with too many folicles!)

GOOD LUCK :fingerscrossed:

Hi Belinda

Dont be worried they sound scarier than they are!

I had Puregon (the FSH part) injections every day for about a week at 50iU dosage, the dosage and time you need to take them for will vary from person to person. The injection is a pen type injection where you dial up the dosage on a pen which contains a cartridge of the Puregon. The needle is about 2cm long and very thin. You inject it in your stomach, somewhere lower than their belly button. You can also do it in your thigh and dont know about anyone else but I for one know I have allot more flabby fat on my stomach! :D
Its very much a mind over matter thing, I am fine with needles but dont like to watch them go in if im getting a blood test or something and had never given myself one. When i was at the FS giving myself my first one (so they could teach me) i said "I cant do this" as i was about to stick it in... it seriously does not hurt, the needle is so fine! You just think it will!

After the Puregon had matured a folicle you have an injection of Pregnyl (i had 5000iU) which is basically a synthetic form of HCG (pregnancy hormone). This is a trigger shot to make you release the egg. A few days after this I had another Puregon shot (1500iU) as a 'support' and another one again another few days after that. The Puregon for 'support' tricks your body into thinking its pregnant so it produces more Progesterone. The Puregon is given by way of a syringe injection although the needle is still only 2cm (if not a bit shorter).
It sounds scarey but it really isnt.

The one thing to keep in mind is you cant really do HPTs because they will pick up the Puregon thinking it is your body producing it. I have been testing HPTs to see what they are picking up and started 3 days after my last Puregon support shot and got a positive result but every day since the line has been getting lighter. Today after 6 days of HPT testing the line is barely there now... im 15dpO (AF due tomorrow i think). I dont think there will be any line there tomorrow and I dont think its my month for a BFP either

Good Luck, i hope everything works out for you (all).
