went to the hospital

Just wanted to let everyone know how i went today after i had some spotting.

Went up to emergency and they took some blood and did an internal (lots of fun) the dr didnt seem too concerned as i wasnt in any pain.

my HCG level was 10,800 which they told me was very reassuring so im pleased about that and i have an ultra-sound tomorrow so im excited about that im still nervous like any pregnant woman but the drs seem to think all is well so that makes me feel better.

thanks, im feeling alot better now that ive heard my HCG levels as i had no idea what they were before so now i really finally feel pregnant i keep driving my hubby crazy saying 'wat if im not really pregnant?' etc and he was starting to think i was a crazy person so its good to know im not haha

had my ultra-sound today and apparently i am only 6 weeks pregnant as they can only see my yolk sack but they seem to think everythings in the right place and she could just detect a heartbeat and she says that normal as bubs is very small im dissapointed that im now so far away from the 3month mark but im pleased that theres a bub

yeh im really pleased,i didnt actually get to see a heartbeat but the dr said shes pretty sure she had one but said its common not to have one yet so to relax so hopefully ill know more in a few weeks

Hi Steph

We must be due around the same time. We are due last July, early August with number 2.

Just wanted to let you know I had the exact same thing happen to me with DS. We had spotting at the 6 weeks mark, which they said was just what was left of an implatation bleed, then passed a clot at 12 weeks.

Beacuase I am RH - I had a scan (and injection) at the 6 weeks when I had the spotting, and they picked up DS heartbeat which the sonographer told me was the most positive sign we were on our way to delivery a bub in 9 months time.

It scared the bejesuses out of me, and I am paranoid that it is going to happen again soon with this one, not signs yet though (must be a girl).

Sorry to waffle on just wanted to let you know that I went through the same thing and we delivered a healthy bub 9 months later.

hey there,
thanks for telling me that it made me feel better,im still nervous about not seeing the heartbeat for myself but i assume the technician probably wouldnt have said she thinks she had a heartbeat if she wasnt sure right?.

alot of people have told me they didnt get an obvious heart-beat at their early ultra-sound so im just trying to remain calm as my dr's didnt seem concerned and were happy to just send my results to my regular GP for me to get next week and i assume they wouldnt leave it that long if the baby was not alive.
