Do people when they get married now still do the following things as a measure of good luck or whatever other reason they are used for??
Something Old
Something New
Something Borrowed
Something Blue
I just dont know if its a olden day kind of thing or if people still do this.
I did :) It was fun :D
Something Old - Mum's earrings and my Grandad walked me up the aisle ;)
Something New - Dress, Shoes
Something Borrowed - My veil was borrowed from Pukkie and I wore a peticoat borrowed from my dad's DW
Something Blue - Now let me think.. I did have something blue... I wonder if it was my knickers... no... umm... not my necklace either... *think think* I can't remember but I KNOW I had something blue...

I wanted to but ended up more like "something new and something else new and another thing new"
My Grandmother gave me a Saphire ring of hers to wear but I changed my mind at the last minute.
Yep I did
Something Old: Instead of carrying a bouquet, I carried a wedding pray book that was given to my grandmother off her mother, my mother carried it down the aisle and last weekend my sister did to:)
Something New: I read somewhere that all brides get new dresses so you should have something else ;)(I think it was from a babysitter book:o) so my necklace
Something borrow: was my friends tiara
Something blue: the garter
Too easy for the something old...
That will be me, the bride, LOL.

Something Old - Belly button ring with blue diamonte
Something New - Dress, Shoes, veil
Something borrowed - Bracelet from close friend who i was bridesmaide for...
Something blue - A ring with a blue stone that my dad left for me in his will
We had the most non traditional wedding but I still did this- not sure why, probably same reason I agreed and let my Mum order a wedding cake.
something old- underwear - I wanted to be comfy! LOL
something new- my earrings
something borrowed- late Nanna's wed ring
something blue- my Ceylon sapphire engagement ring
at my wedding (TEN DAYS!), i am keeping this tradition, i really like things like that, its fun.
OLD: bracelet from my nan who has now passed away
NEW: dress, shoes, underwear
BORROWED: not sure yet, if i can't come up with something, it will be my cousin's makeup lol
BLUE: i was given a blue hydrangea for the wedding (its in our garden). i am also wearing sapphire earrings which were the first pieces of jewellery DF gave me.
When I get married next year, I will certainly be carrying on this tradition!! Just got to finalise all the details and plans!!

Hi
I did this for my first wedding/marriage
Old- exMIL bracelet
New- earrings & necklace
Borrowed- exMIL bracelet
Blue- Hens night we went to a strip club and the funny money that you could stuff in their g's were blue so I tucked this under my garter. I should mention that we had a full on catholic wedding:o
I also did a sixpence in my shoe, not sure where this tradition comes from but my mother insisted.
Michelle
I am going to do this when I get married in a couple of months...
Something old: a bluebird pendant my mum gave me for my christening
Something new: dress, shoes etc
Something borrowed: still working on that one
Something blue: my bluebird pendant
