Hi gals,

Just wondering if anyone with PCOS (or PCO) has had bad experiences with opks - ie, false positives?? My opks seem to be getting darker over the last 2 days, but I was diagnosed with PCO today, so am afraid they are false. Any ideas??

Thanks! :)

i dont use them myself as i dont O by myself and on fertility treatment Im always tracked so know in advance when Im going to O anyway... but i just wanted to say remember many with PCO/PCOS still O (some even quite regularly) so dont completely discount them if they are telling you you are about to O! Go get BDing just incase! :D

Just to clarify do you have PCO or PCOS? (PCO is just Polycistic Ovaries and PCOS is the additional 'Syndrome' where your hormones are all out of whack and you may (but may not) have problems with IR & weight gain, and because of high testosterone levels also have acne and excess/darker hair)..

Sorry to hear you were diagnosed anyway. There are many of us here that can help you out if need be and incase you didnt already know there is also this forum with PCOS information http://www.posaa.asn.au/modules.php?name=Forums (but BubHub is way better  )

Thanks for that Nicole!

Im not too sure yet if I have PCO or PCOS - I get the blood tests back next week. I was just diagnosed with polycystic ovaries today. I have the excess hair, inability to lose weight, but not really acne, etc. So, I think I actually have PCOS, but dr said PCO for now. We'll see. Im still in a bit of shock about it to be honest.

Anyway, might check out that site! :) By the way, have been foloowing your posts a little in the fertility drug testing calendar and I think a congrats are in order!! How exciting! :smiliedance:

dont worry :hugs: there are lots of women with PCOS that still conceive reasonably easily so keep your chin up... i guess i didnt really go through the shock faze as both my elder sisters have PCOS so i knew there was a big chance I also had it.

Thanks for the congrats and I hope your right but Im not so sure... not feeling very positive about it and dont really want to be too positive at this stage as I dont want to get my hopes up IYKWIM!
