Add your recommendations for DoubleDelight who is relocating to Beresfield.

I'm hoping that you can help. I grew up on Lake Macquarie but left to move to Sydney many years ago.

I've just found out through work that I've got a transfer to our new branch at Beresfield in March next year.

I'm just wanting some advice on areas to look for housing. We will be renting when we first move so any suggestions would be appreciated.

I'll also be needing recommendations for things like swimming lessons, GP's etc.

I recommend Dr Toni Kesby as a general GP, she is really nice and keeps on top of health information, always has time to talk and always keeps you informed. She is at Beresfield Medical Centre at Cnr Landor and Milton Sts. There are a few other doctors in the surgery. They might bulkbill if you are on a healthcard.

As for housing, I think Domain.com should list most places available. I would avoid Woodberry, Tarro and some parts of Thornton and Metford. Bero itself is quiet and fairly good.

If I think of anything else I'll let you know. I live a few suburbs away but have been seeing the Doctor there for about 3 years and intend to keep seeing her as my family grows.

I live in Thornton and we love it here.

I used www.domain.com.au or www.realestate.com.au when we were looking for a rental.

We have seen a couple of the GP's at our local Medical centre and have found them to be great.
