Hi all

Just wanting to know, for all ladies who use FF and know exactly how long their luteal phase is, this question is for you -

Has anyone had a short luteal phase and still able to fall pg?

My luteal phase is usually 12 days but this month it was only 10. I'm just thinking that perhaps I can't get pg because my luteal phase is too short but i'm just not sure about this.

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!

Also, does anyone know if there is anything you can do to extend or lengthen your luteal phase? medications? natural remedies?? Has anyone been to a fertility specialsist and sought some advice on their short luteal phase. Perhaps I should see a fertility specialist ??(although, this has only been my 5th month of TTC so maybe it's too early)

Any thoughts or advice is very much appreciated.

Hi Parkm,

I was charting my cycles for 3 month using FF when I too, started to worry that my luteal phase length was stopping me from getting pg.

My average luteal phase is 11 days. DH and I had planned to see a doctor if we were still unsuccessful come January. But....last month I got my BFP and am now 6 weeks pg!

From what I have read on BH, a short luteal phase is fairly common and I believe that it can be fixed with progesterone supplements..

There may be other ladies who can give you more info.

Best of luck!

Hi, mine was usually around 10-11 days and I have one Son and am pregnant with No. 2 on the way....it seems to be o'kay for me.

There are herbal teas you can try or you can talk to your Dr. who can give you Progesterone to take....

Good Luck.

from what i understand, 10 days and over is fine, 9 or less should go see someone...

but in saying that, my mum has a 8 day luteal phase and she still falls pregnant just from thinking about it (well not since she finished having kids!!)

Mine is usually 10-11 days and I haven't had any trouble.
Good luck with it.

Mine was 9 - 12 days when TTC #3 (i know its always meant to be the same but mine wasn't??)

You can take blackmores vitex which you can buy from a chemist over the counter. It's meant to help with a few different things. Do a google search on it if you want more info.

It seemed to help for some people who were TTC on bubhub at the same time I was, I don't know if it did make much difference to my cycles though.

:fingerscrossed: for a :bfp: for you this Christmas.
