My DH has got it easy (again) this Christmas.
I buy all the present's - that's about 19 family members (including thinking of what to buy), I wrap all the presents and write on all the cards.
I put up the Christmas tree and decorations and I organise the food for Christmas day.
He get's to play golf on Christmas eve with his mates, then wake up Christmas day to enjoy the day
I do love Christmas, but I am going on strike next year!!
Vent over :o :tree:

Golf on Christmas Eve...Ummmmm no wouldn't be happening
I love Christmas and all that goes with it, the decorating, the shopping, the music, the cooking but if I was left to do it by myself I think it'd be a different story...Chrissy is all bout being together as a family :reindeer:
Give him a list of responsibilities to help prepare for the Big Day - never know, he might enjoy it :xmas:
I have often thought on Christmas day...
"why are these men getting gifts when they do NOTHING towards Christmas...!!?? They never BUY a gift so why should they GET a gift??"
Hmmm thanks PA, now my vent is over too :o
DP was asked by one of his single mates to go out for a Christmas Drink to a bar. This is the first time in history I have told him he's not allowed to go out.
Christmas is for families and we have a little family now so he's not going out with his single mates and leaving me at home on my own with the baby. If his friend wants to do something with us as a family to celebrate christmas then I will be happy to go.
If it was his single mate's birthday or something then I would be fine with it. I am always fine with it, but not for Christmas.
dp mows the lawns and hangs the outside lights. he's also the battery man on the big day! and let me think...oh yep hes picked up a lay-by this year.
oh and then theres the whinging about the boxes not fitting in the bin for the next two weeks after xmas.
yeah a mans life at xmas is such hard work!

I hear you, Its me that does all the shopping etc (mind you he IS at work all day) though he is a bit of a scrooge (sp) at Xmas and he'd rather stay home Xmas day then see family (though he WON'T be staying home) Its always us mums (well for me anyway) who think to buy presents/cards etc not jsut for Xmas but birthdays too. If I left it up to Grant Hayley would get nothing.
He has to buy something for a Kris kringle for work this year and says he is going to get me something too (we'll see though)

This thread is just a bit of a sarcastic dig at men in general, my DH is not all that bad really!!
He is a great help around the house, he is very family orientated and loves being with us (his family) at Christmas - unfortunately with work committments, he can't help me out as much as I'd like.
I went shopping today for some last minute family pressies. While I was still in the shopping centre DH rang me and asked me to drop into the beautician there and get a gift voucher for a facial. I asked him who it was for and he said "You".
So yes. I actually went and bought my own Christmas present. The lady behind the counter asked me who it was for and I said "Kellie". She then asked me who it was from and I said "Kellie"!!!! :banghead:

My DF really gets into christmas. He makes a big day of setting up the tree and decorating the house. He goes with me to buy the pressies and always goes by himself to get mine and my stocking. He even helps me cook. His mum taught him very well indeed. Thanks MIL!!!!:D
