Hi!
I am moving to Brisbane fmor the UK Feb/March time. When we get here we will need to buy lots of things for Lachlan, our 3 month old (current age), such as a cot, changing mats, nappy bin, various other baby products etc. (Shipping from the UK will take ~3 months so we cant wait for some things)
We will most likely be staying in some short term accomodation failry close to the centre of Brisbane.
My question is does anyone know of a good baby supplies shop? If they have an online shop too that would be great so I can prepare, and perhaps order in advance. Ive done a bit on online searching, but havent found anywhere that sounds good yet.
Thanks!
Nikk, Jackie and Lachlan

Hi and welcome.

It really depends what kind of money you want to spend. My dh and I found Target and baby target were the best for us. We did a lot of shopping around and often found the same things were on offer but at half the price. They are also in the centre of the city. Queen St Mall in the Myers Centre.

Hope thats a good start, I'm 10min from the city so let me if I can help out!

Hi Nikk

I have a bunch of sites that are AU based that I've collected since conceiving DD1 (and I've checked that they all still work :p )
http://www.babyshop.com.au/
http://www.*************.com.au/
http://www.babysark.com.au/
http://au.store.yahoo.com/urbanbaby-au/index.html

They may be a bit more expensive than what you could pick up once you got here - but hey - what price piece of mind!

Also my favourite place (if money was NO object :( ) is Mama's House, which is a great place to pick up great, unusual toys (as well as clothes, furniture etc). It's located at Newmarket Rd, Windsor just 10 minutes north of Brisbane's CBD.

Best of Luck (and enjoy the sun!)

Hi!

We live on the southside of Brisbane and while I was pregnant, my husband and I searched through heaps of baby shops to get all the various stuff you need. We found that furniture wise, Babyco were very reasonably priced and they have package deals where if you spend a certain amount of money, you get a free gift eg: I think we paid $500 to buy a cot, mattress and baby monitor and we got a free walker that has an activity section on it with bells and whistles blowing and all that jazz. I know they have about 2 or 3 stores around Brisbane and their web site is www.babyco.com.au. Other than that, Big W, Target, and K-Mart all have nursery sections in them and they are all over the place!

Hope this helps you out.
