was just wondering how the rest of you mummys are coping with the heat?

we had some pretty hot days in adelaide late last week. yesterday was 43 degrees, and i struggled to cope. i had to pick DP up from work at 4pm, we then dropped in to see his sister (who didn't have her aircon on!?) and then the supermarket, where i told DP we had to head home as i wasn't feeling well.
i had a nap for about an hour when we got home and woke up feeling a bit queasy. i thought i might be hungry, so ate a handful of cherries..... aaaand then, still feeling hot and irritable i... :barf:

cooler this evening... which nice. but i dread the rest of summer now!

it was pretty hot here in Melbourne over the weekend (37 degrees on Saturday) and we don't have proper aircon (well we have it in the sun-room but I don't want to stay down there all day) I went for a walk to the shop (ten minutes) and seriosly thought I was going to pass out, the only thing I could do to keep cool was to drink plenty of water and have a cold shower. I am going to buy one of those portable fans soon.

It's been really hot here too. It's pretty rare that we get a day below 40 - most days are 41 or 42 but we've had a couple of 45 days. Luckily we've got good air cond - an evap cooler and a split system, so i crank them up to the max, pull all the blinds and stay inside all day if i can! A few trips to the pool help too!
